"Well, we'll have to be careful around it then," Faulias said in response to Jenosa. "I'll keep it on my suit, but only because it may come in handy, since it's more specialized to my suit than those other models you saw." Jenosa helped him with the remnants of his suit as she guided him to the set of tools that were available, and he was off to work. They talked a bit while he repaired his suit as efficiently as he could. When he looked at what he had available, he realized he would need to be making several changes to the very core of his suit; his power supply would need to be reconstructed, his bio-enhancement systems were in need of recalibration due to the damage to the other parts of the suit, and his helmet was going to need to be built from scratch. So, he began the tedious task of putting his suit back into a suitable form. The lower half went together fairly easily, as it hadn't taken as much damage as his chest, back, arms and head. Slowly, he patched together the arms for his suit with the original materials, taking note of where new plate would be needed before continuing. After a time, all of the original material in his suit was hanging on the side of the room. As Jenosa walked in the room with the MREs, he was reconstructing his suit's intricate helmet from scratch. All that was ready at the time being was the inner lining and compression locks, wiring running throughout the exterior of the helmet. He was holding it up to the light as Jenosa handed him a few MREs of his own, now dressed in her blue bio-suit. “Here,” she said as she handed Faulias two MREs, “you must be hungry after what happened. And there’s nothing contagious on this.” He chuckled. "This contagion must not be so bad if you can joke about it like that," he said with a grin, putting a hand on her shoulder. "And thanks for the grub, I was starving. I tend to run solely on adrenaline sometimes, and forget about eating." He peeled open the first MRE and began shoveling it into his open mouth. It wasn't long before the first was gone and he began on the second, which suffered a similar fate. After the second disappeared, he put the two aside and picked his helmet back up, taking pieces of spare metal and placing them in certain areas to see how they matched up. “So, what’s your relationship with Twilight?" Jenosa said after she opened her own meal. "There’s gotta be reason why you went to so much effort to help him; and to be honest, you look like ones of those hunters who had been hired to take him out.” "Well, that's what I relied on to get close enough to him to try and help, but that didn't work out so well..." he said. "I'm helping him since he's being hunted for the wrong reasons, and because he's not a bad guy; I've served with him on a couple of occasions, long enough to know that something was up here when they said he was to be captured. He's my friend, and I don't let friends die without a fight." “In which case,” Jenosa pondered, “getting to Twilight is going to be a hella lot of work with all those troopers on the planet; assuming he’s alive when we get back.” "He'll be alive. He's strong, I've seen it personally... at least, that's what I keep telling myself..." he said quietly. As if to try and distract himself, he began attaching plates of thick metal to his helmet, making an effort to patch everything back together. ~ Suddenly, the ship lurched, and everything went sideways. The rolling chairs they were sitting while they ate rolled down the now-slanted floor and slammed into the wall, tools and parts falling from their positions as Faulias quickly grabbed Jenosa and pulled her close to protect her from the falling debris. Even worse, there was the sound of ripping metal as the half-repaired suit tore from the opposite wall's supports that held it in place - and came hurtling toward them as they regained their senses. "GET DOWN!" Faulias roared as he rolled over Jenosa, acting as a human shield from the falling suit as it slammed into his back, knocking the breath out of him before he could brace for it. He grunted as the suit's weight bore down on him before he could push it off. With some effort he moved it to the side and crouched down on the wall, holding the loose suit in place. "Oof, that hurt... how about you, Jenosa? You alright?" Edited by Metamyth, Jun 2 2009, 06:09 PM.

"This contagion must not be so bad if you can joke about it like that," he said with a grin, putting a hand on her shoulder. Jenosa snickered, "I don't think my contagion is bad; otherwise we would have seen a swath of outbreaks where ever I've walked. I'm not sure about the rest though. It really depends on where and what it get's into, honestly." She sat down with a wry smirk on her face, taking a bite of her MRE. "Honestly, I can't see why I can't joke about something nasty," she explained in good humor, "It's like my alcohol when times are bad, except I don't have to worry about a hangover or getting depressed. Keeps my spirits up, actually; the only overdose side-effect is getting too cocky. And really, I've learned enough to be always ready for surprises, whether the job looks easy or not." She took a bite of her MRE and added, "Especially when you're dealing with the Scurge." She listened and nodded solemnly in understanding to what Faulias told her. It was easy to understand the context here, and while she probably didn't have as much experience like he did with him, but she knew enough of Twilight to have her own reasons to help him. She didn't plan on being a hero, but, even though being a short time friend, he was friend nonetheless. Faulias just helped support the idea that she wasn't just wasting his time with Twilight even more. "He'll be alive. He's strong, I've seen it personally... at least, that's what I keep telling myself..." he said quietly. "That makes two of us," she agreed, in an equally quiet, sober tone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jenosa, having gotten a tad lax, hadn't been expecting the ship to suddenly lurch without any warning. She didn't have any time to react to Faulias's grasp as she was pulled towards him. She grimaced when the suit impacted onto his back. "Oof, that hurt... how about you, Jenosa? You alright?" "I'm fine...except for a small cut on my cheek; superficial really." She wiped the blood off of it, and despite the length of the scar, her wound already had stopped bleeding. She added, "Also, I'd punch you in the face for treating me like a damsel in distress back there...but taking that suit of yours was gutsy." She patted him on the shoulder with a wry grin, "Thanks, I owe you one." As she straitened herself out, her good humored mannered changed to outright fuming; and for good reason. "Adaaaaaam!" she gritted her teeth as she spoke, trying to suppress a yell but failed. "What's the big idea turning my ship topsy turvey on us like that. Answer me dammit?" She was just met with dead silence. "You have got to be kidding me!” she spoke sarcastically, hoping that he would respond after that phrase; like he had intended this to be a joke. No such luck. She felt gravity correct itself – rather, it was the ship entering a more zero-G environment and activating its own artificial gravity – and she moved to the cockpit when she could. She found herself, not too expectantly, peering out into space. She was hoping Adam would have respond as soon as she opened the door, but there was still nothing. She went from angry to worrisome. She tapped a few of the controls and activated the ship’s cloaking field; she was both glad and bothered by the fact that she had control of the ship again. She turned to Faulias and said, “Either Adam’s ass is going to be mine, or that ass is about to be, or already is, someone else’s.” |

OOC: Blargh! This took far too long >< "Damn it! Pursue that ship!" Ordered the PED elite trooper who had previously threatened Faulias, but before he could react properly the large man had been scooped up into a ship that flew by and almost crushed the trooper, forcing him to avoid it. Upon hearing his barking a few normal soldiers in the vicinity ran off toward their transport vessel and began pursuit, which soon proved futile as Jenosa's ship was far too fast. In the meantime the PED trooper decided to focus on their target. With a roar Twilight came down on Gellion, striking down with his brightly glowing right arm as he unleashed the light energy on the 'man'. With a high pitched piercing sound and a flash of white which blinded everyone in the vicinity, Gellion's arm was cut straight off by the shoulder, and though it was hard to see, his chest was probably burned in some manner or form. As the light faded Twilight himself stood lurched forward, his left arm on his left thigh to support himself while he stood several meters away from Gellion. Right now there was no trace of dark energy left in his right arm, the only thing which held its form togheter was the armor he was merged with. Even without hearing the low and hoarse hisses escaping his broken visor it was clear Twilight was exhausted, though by the looks of it Gellion was worse off than him. “You…” he rasped at Twilight slowly, “By-product…of…Unhinged! …Substance that…afflicted our…ancestors. We…will me…again,” The 'man' spoke. 'By-product? Unhinged? His ancestors? What is he talking about...? Does he mean phazon? What is he...?' Twilight had no idea what the man meant with his words, but he guessed the 'substance' he mentioned talked of phazon, but that was only a guess. Phazon was a very minimal component that made up an average Ing, and Twilight had not touched the substance in a long time. Well whatever might have been his intentions a sudden blast caused part of the warehouse roof fall down ontop of Gellion. Given his weak state it was very doubtfull the man was still alive. Twilight did not have time to think about his enemy however as he still had a bunch of PED's to worry about. But before he had done more than simply turn around a beep sounded out from his limp arm as Adam's HFI detached and flew up infront of him. “Twilight. Run. Now! Follow me!” Twilight did not say anything, simply complied silently as he looked around once more. The PED troopers was keeping out of sight for the most part, a few of them was slowly approaching while covered slightly, the rest he could feel due to their hypermode being active. In his tattered and exhausted state Twilight felt that he missed having five legs to support himself with, two legs was just so hard to balance on at times. But despite those thoughts he managed to stumble away with decent speed, following just a few meters behind Adam's HFI. Then suddenly the HFI went out of control and fell onto the concrete ground infront of Twilight. "What..? Adam? Damn it all!" Twilight cursed as he looked down on the advanced piece of technology which had either stopped working, or had lost its contact with whatever was controlling it. Either way Adam could not help him right now. In what felt like an instant to the confused and exhausted Ing the PED troopers who had previously approached him slowly was suddenly upon him, blasts of highly concentrated phazon being sent from their custom designed high-energy rifles. Several shots hit Twilight in the back which created glowing blue marks on his armor, while those that hit the areas that seemed more like skin was being absorbed. And in the process Twilight hissed loudly in pain as he stumbled forward, nearly falling but managing to stabilize himself by moving one of his legs forward swiftly. Realizing he did not have much time to get away Twilight began to move as quickly as he was able to where Adam's HFI had been heading, picking up the falled device on the way and holding it tightly in his left hand while he clung to the light energy core with his right. However Twilight had lost all sense of direction and many of his 'sixth senses' was either dulled or completely disfunctional now and as such he did not notice the two PED troopers who was waiting for him in the small alleyway up ahead. With the sound of energy weapons being discharged Twilight fell down on the ground, writhing in pain as his body struggled to both repel and absorb it at the same time. A few more shots were fired and a scream that more resembled a pained hiss escaped Twilight before he became unmoving on the ground, the light energy core rolling out of his lapse hand, while he still held onto the HFI with his left. In the meantime two other Elite PED troopers approached Donovan shortly after landing with his transport, to note was that one of them held what looked like a radioation suit used by the federation whenever phazon was involved. The two of them saluted, before the one in the front took a step forward. "We were told you would arrive shortly, so we brought a protective suit with us. As the area ahead contains phazon radiation I advice you to make use of it, sir. In order to subdue the target we needed to use more power for our weapons." The armored man spoke, and it would not be hard to notice that their weapons and armor was indeed not your average PED trooper equipment, but rather a highly modified PED armor coupled with a custom-built high-energy rifle. "There are a few things which might interest you, and section 6." The Elite Trooper said as he stepped back, letting the other soldier hand Donovan the protective suit. |

Faulias followed Jenosa out of the room after securing his belongings back in place. They were now cloaked in the vastness of space above the planet, artificial gravity back in place. Jenosa had a worried look about her as she spoke: “Either Adam’s ass is going to be mine, or that ass is about to be, or already is, someone else’s.” Faulias nodded thoughtfully, having forgotten about the AI Adam Malkovich being aboard the craft. He placed a hand on her shoulder to reassure her, saying, "He's survived worse than this... I'm sure he'll come through. In the meantime, I've got some things to finish up with my suit... and some dents to pop out of it now." He walked back into the work room. "Call me out if you need something or the situation changes." Upon reentering the room, he walked to the workbench and wiped off the surface with a cloth, cleaning up the spilled MRE food that hadn't been eaten yet, before laying out his helmet again. The wiring and structure was unharmed from the jolt, so he began piecing metal back on it and securing it in place with welds and a larger titanium mold of the original helmet to top it off. After the helmet, the PED unit was the only thing left to reattach and rewire to his suit. With some effort he managed to get his suit chestdown on the table and secured so he could mount the unit to it. After all was said and done, the suit, while not in pristine condition was fairly close to 90% capacity, but with a couple changes. For one, he had directly rewired his PED unit into his Breaker Gauntlet for use against the PED troopers. Using the electrical energy emitted from the gauntlet he would be able to contain a small mass of phazon in a controlled plasma-electrical field, which he could then hurl at the enemy. It seemed like a good idea, but it would have to be tested well. Slowly, he donned his suit once again and ran a diagnostic.
Satisfied with the results, he walked out into the command deck again, ducking to avoid the low doors that hadn't been a problem without his suit. "Well, that's that. Thanks for the help with tools and all that." He looked out at space, down toward the planet below. The ruckus was just barely visible from space, but only if you knew what you were looking for. "What now, you think?" |

Donovan heard the sounds of weapons charging. Almost as a reflex, he drew his own weapon and spun around, ready to blow away the first thing he saw. Like the troopers, he was trained to shoot first and all that good stuff. "They're friendlies, stand down!" the sergeant shouted as the PED troopers came jogging up to them. The agent holstered his pistol and went up to meet them. This would be Harris's team, if he was not mistaken. "We were told you would arrive shortly, so we brought a protective suit with us." the lead trooper said to Donovan. "As the area ahead contains phazon radiation I advise you to make use of it, sir. In order to subdue the target we needed to use more power for our weapons. There are a few things which might interest you, and Section 6." Donovan looked down at the radiation suit, and back up at the trooper. "I'll live," he said. "Whatever it is, make it quick. Twilight's friends, they're close." ............................. I know him... that's that agent who's been following me. Come a long way to catch one little girl. From Earth to Sanctuary and all points in between. And now he's here, and I doubt it's a coincidence. Or maybe I'm getting a little full of myself here. Maybe Ahab's got himself a new White Whale. A Purple Whale, maybe? No... no he ain't the type to just get himself a new obsession just like that. I bet this came from the top. Yeah, this is just the kind of shit those spooks are into. Then again... they tell me this guy spent a lot of time on Sanctuary, and he wasn't just asking questions about me. And now my old boss is in town, looking for Twilight just like everyone else. I bet he followed Adam here all the way from Sanctuary, that rat bastard. Twilight was just the excuse... he's here to take us down. Pure and simple. |

Jenosa gave out a relaxed sigh, feeling comforted by Faulias's mood. Ruffling her red hair across her forehead, she admitted "You're right, the guy's resourceful." She then looked at him with an enthusiastic flare in her eyes and a wiry grin, "Yeah, go finish getting ready for our party, I'll try to make sure nothing catches us by surprise." Faulias was indeed an optimistic hunter, she thought; more optimistic than her, that was for sure. Despite how cocky he had looked at one time, she found herself warming up to his attitude. During the wait, she looked over the scans and had her A.I. reported anything odd. She noted a GFed fleet somewhere in orbit of the planet, and had a hunch they were there for Twilight. This was going to make things difficult, she pondered; oh well, she thought as she stretched her hands, I'm just going to have to get creative like usual. And as if on cue, Faulias came. "Well, that's that. Thanks for the help with tools and all that." Jenosa gave a good laughed, "None needed. Your here for the same cause as I am." "What now, you think?" Jenosa pondered, "Since Adam hasn't called us, we'll need to come up with a plan, and soon." She pointed to the fleet in orbit, "My ship isn't a heavy gunner like yours was, so I don't think it would be good to get stuck with that. Cloaking will help." She sat down in her chair as she continued her contemplation. That civilian look upon her face had nearly faded; only a hint of it mixed in with her serious, bounty hunter expression. "The place is swarming with troops, especially with those PED guys. Charging directly won't do, but there are buildings near the place to take advantage of. Good hiding spots. Although from here, neither of us can what kind of perimeter they've set up. We may have to get closer to figure that out." "I may be a solo person most of the time, but...we're going to work together, we might have to get to know each others strength and weakness." She put out her hand in a gesture to a 'team' handshake, "Got anything you'd like to add?" |

The smoke heavy air drifted past the alleyway Adam was hiding in. His ship was running as quiet as possible. Passive sensors were active, reading data traveling carelessly over the airways. Police scanners, emergency frequencies, and personal cell phones told him that the local authorities had secured the area. The local equivalent of the national guard had moved in to provide backup for whatever the Federation troopers were trying to contain, with the understanding that they were there mainly as crowd control. The media were going crazy, reporting all sorts of conspiracies and theories that might explain what they were witnessing. It was a mess. An absolute mess, and one not even his GI fingers could fix. The Feds were going to have fun with the PR on this debacle, and Adam was glad he wasn’t one of their diplomats. Twilight was in bad shape. Adam didn’t fully understand what had happened. He knew that Twilight was lured in with the bait of a lucrative bounty, but who actually wrote the bounty was a good question. Was it the monster that called himself Gellion? Was it the Feds? It was a key piece of missing information, one that made the difference between a rescue mission via brute force and one that required a great deal of tact, misdirection, and caution. Although, Adam had to admit, now it was a moot point. Twilight was in the Fed’s hands, and he wasn’t sure if he could get Twilight free. All he could do now was wait. His HFI was still with Twilight, although he doubted it would stick with him for long. He could only hope that the HFI would be with Twilight long enough for Adam to be able to track his friend to his final destination. |

The PED trooper who had been speaking to Donovan said nothing and kept a neutral look on his face through his blue visor as Donovan shrugged off the danger of phazon radiation like it would just give him a light hangover. The other PED trooper wasn't so collected however and at this close range one could clearly see the look on his face through the visor, no need for words when his facial expression clearly said "Are you insane!?" Clearly thinking Donovan was underestimating the phazon radiation. "...Fine. Just be sure to write your report before you contract phazon madness, we'd prefer if it was not blamed on us." The lead trooper said with a monotone voice before he moved a hand up to the side of his helmet and pressed a button. "How are the preparations? ..... Good, bring the devices, and begin a wider search for the ship that escaped earlier, contact the fleet and order them to be on the lookout." The lead trooper ordered through his comm, before he turned to Donovan again. "While my soldiers prepare the target to be moved, I asked them to bring the objects that I mentioned previously." Just a minute after the order had went out, a group of two PED marines and two normal, but well equiped marines came around the corner, walking toward the lead PED trooper and Donovan, the normal marines carrying two safe-boxes/quarantine boxes, the kind normally used for transporting extremely dangerous and volatile materials. Once they came up to the group the regular marines carrying the boxes that was almost like very thick briefcases walked up inbetween Donovan and the lead trooper. "It appears the target held two objects of interest. One is a form of energy core which it seemed to have been using as a weapon. Though it appear as if it was harmed by this same weapon. The other is a very high-tech device of unknown origin which was found in the targets closed hand, though a few marines state they saw something small levititate nearby the targets location. After closer examination it appears the device is indeed capable of flight." While explaining all this, the two other PED troopers accompanying the 'box-bearers' opened the briefcase like boxes, showing the light energy core and the HFI to Donovan. "We are currently attempting to track down the ones who aided the target, but it appears the Generals marines are incompetent." In the meantime the other PED troopers had put up an additional perimiter around the ruined warehouse, along with a tent-like structure that blocked the view of most of the rubble from the air, including Twilight and the actual troopers, of course any truly high-tech equipment could probably look past it in some spectrum. But after this was done the marines had placed Twilights unconcious body on a phazite plate specifically engineered for holding the Ing, which it did with clamps of some rare metal, holding his arms, legs, waist and neck in place, all the while weakening him due to the phazite plate. They were currently securing the plate for transportation, waiting on a transport ship which had a proper container. From the look of the mission status which was being updated on his HUD through heavily encrypted messages, Twilight was caught or in the process of being caught. So instead of heading toward the location of the battle, Wight decided to try and see if the Fox had any contacts in the area and how secure their connections were. Finding a secure place with only one place from where one could see him, which he watched vigilantly, Wight began a subtle attempt at tracking any communication signals that might be connected with the fox, in an attempt to track it to the source. |

"I'm good in a firefight," Faulias said. "This suit's designed to be its own cover since its so thick, which means you could use me as cover too. I'm not so slick with the sneaky stuff, though..." He paused for a bit, before speaking again. "Actually... there's the possibility that the troopers on the outskirts don't know I'm defective yet, so we might be able to use that to our advantage. Otherwise, I'll be able to deal with the PED suits physically. The units can be overloaded with Phazon, you see. Other than that... well, I dunno. I guess that's where teamwork comes into play." He met her hand with his, the size difference causing him to laugh. It was like those old Terran cartoons, where the little girl met the giant, but instead of shaking hands, the girl just grabbed the giant's finger and shook it. "Heh, I'm in this for the long run, though." |

Jenosa scoffed, "Stop thinking I can't defend myself. I'm pretty good in firefights myself, I just don't try to take hits; I'm nimble enough to dodge and resourceful. At the very least, you might act like a distraction," she joked in good humor with the last phrase. Jenosa still grimaced at the mention of the PEDs - she understood she felt differently towards them unlike everyone else, but she'd never where one herself. Jenosa gave a chuckle when Faulias laughed, and responded, "Heh, looks like we both are. Considering were not in the good graces of this government any more. And between you and me, this might fun working alongside one another. My stealth is decent, but with my ability to sense any of those troopers, we can get by. if not...well, we make it as we go along. I prefer doing plans on the fly to be honest." Having agreed it was time to go back down; she accessed the ships controls to let it descend. As it did, she brushed back some of her hair from her forehead and asked, "I gotta ask, what does it feel like using that phazon stuff - if you feel anything strange at all. I honestly can't imagine using that stuff at all, even with this suit or yours. Doesn't it burn or have some kind of side-effects?" ----------------------------- (OOC: Tell if there anything wrong about this section of the post TT.) Nearly an hour had passed since the warehouse had collapsed and the soldiers had set up a perimeter around it. Aside from people trying to trespass and being caught – and the media – nothing eventful had occurred. Until one of the troopers patrolling the warehouse’s perimeter noticed something really weird in the wreckage. It was creepy, actually – some kind of bio-matter was growing like a fungus on the outside of the wreckage. The amount was fairly small in comparison with the rest of the wreckage, but it was near where the electricity for the machinery and power tools. Most of it bore the resemblance of some bizarre mutated blood, covering the section like goo. The stuff appeared thick, but running in all of it like veins was these thick, purple tendrils that were quickly making their way to the torn power wires. But what was so freaky about was the glow. It wasn't a Christmas tree by far, but every bit of it from the purple tendrils to the red, bubbly mass gave of a slow pulsing, dim glow. As if the stuff was breathing. The troopers, not like it, decided not to step in the stuff, worried it might be some sort of mutation from all the phazon radiation. And as soon it was discovered, they immediately reported its description and said that it appeared to be thriving in this environment. |
