(OOC: JP between me and Fat) Gellion walked into the warehouse cautiously with his oddly colored, high-energy rifle pointed and ready to fire - without his finger at the trigger. He noticed the large object covered up which looked familiar, but he was not sure if it was Twilight's ship or not. He might be able to recognize it if the power was on, but it wasn't. However, he immediately found himself seeing a faint 'outline' of energy behind the ship; a large violet haze that resembled a humanoid shape, and his immediate thought was that it was a suit. His assumption was correct as he saw it move, and it appeared from behind the crates. "Stop right there, Twilight! We're... eh..." it said, standing up fully, lowering his weapon to his hip, leaving it pointed at him. Gellion had instinctively pointed his gun back at him out of precaution. "You're definitely not who I was looking for. Who are you and what are you doing here?" Gellion made a leery face, although some of his features, such as his hair, appeared to be...unnaturally still, like a statue. "Even though I don't wear a suit, I am one of the commanders leading a party Galactic Federation squad in search of Twilight. I go by the name of Gellion. Strange of you mentioning the target, or were you mistaking me for him?" "My suit only picks up heat signatures or disturbances when there's no visual contact, so I had no choice but to assume you were Twilight," Faulias said, lowering his aim from Gellion. "I want that bastard bagged as much as anyone else; I served several missions with him when the Falcon missions... he's definitely dangerous..." "However, I am curious as to why he is wanted. I was given minimal information on the matter. Do you know anything abut it?" Gellion raised a brow from his other wise 'motionless' face, "Funny that you would mistaken my heat signature for his, considering his is much lower; but I suppose we all have our assumptions or...lack of information." He narrowed his eyes, as if trying to make out something; and he was. It was the shadows and the darkness, as there was something...wrong about it all. Even among areas that had no light at all, he could either make out a faint , gray, blur of the solid object, or see a purple or blue haze; or if he wanted to, he could completely change the color of the world he saw. And he did that, and still, in a certain area of the hanger, he saw an irregular, pitch black cloud. It was cloud, oh yes, not the abyss of shadows that he saw further on ahead of his alternative vision, beyond it's range; and he saw it shifting like a cloud of gas, standing out as if it was a living blotch on a telescope lens. His vision changed back, and he seemed to shift his eyes at Faulias with a suspicious look. One of the many troubles with talking to individuals like him was that you could not tell what their real motives were, or if they were telling the truth at all. He did respond to his question though, "No, I was given the same amount of information as you were...although," he added with some disdain, "one could assume it's for...research purpose." "See as we are both after the same person, why don't we make a full sweep of this building's interior?" and he lifted up the sheet covering Twilight's ship, as if he had already known it was there, "seeing as his ship is here." Shit... Faulias thought. Bastard has already caught on... he's gotta be seeing something I can't, something is different about him... I've gotta try one more time. "Looks like my scans were correct," Faulias said in a calm voice. "I had scans of movement in or near this building... Tell you what. You stay in here, check every shadow, you seem to be more perceptive than I am. I'll check the perimeter outside." He began to step toward the door. Gellion didn't seem to say anything at all; he seemed completely silent. He thought for a moment, and could not see a problem with this since his men were outside. He did remember telling them to surround the perimeter, and none of them had spotted anything outside; at least, they hadn't reported spotting anything. And considering he would not have an untrustworthy bounty hunter helping him survey the inside, where he could be backstabbed, he decided to take the hunter's word. "Very well," he said in a completely neutral tone, "my men are outside. They will assist you." Somewhere, in the back of his mind, an idea occurred; one that was...risky and perhaps rather unlike his kind. As soon as Faulias stepped outside, he opened his wrist console and began to take some 'notes.' In reality, he was typing a message, very quickly and sloppily. He looked up to see several armed men staring at him, presumably Gellion's personal squadron. He stepped around the building carefully, appearing to be making careful calculations on his PDA. Finally, he finished the message, and began swiftly searching through his contacts. Come on, come on... it's gotta still be here... Eventually, a name Twilight was highlighted. He quickly clicked 'send' on his console and continued trudging around the building.
Meanwhile, Gellion pondered his idea. The female woman was of importance; and investigating her origins appeared to be more important. A person like her could either prove to be very dangerous…or very useful. The momentary connection with her was still burned in his mind; all because he had rarely ever made a connection with his own kind. But how to get to her, he thought, and he thought he already knew the answer. She was after Twilight, and any other option would prove to far more riskier for him. Chasing and cornering her was bound to get messy; but having…leverage would make things clean and easier. Yes, he thought, possibly get two birds with one stone, but there could be any number of unknown that could leap into the situation. Still…it seemed the better gamble. During his thought he had already begun to search the building, starting not with the area that he saw the black energy. Working his way around, he stopped somewhere near Twilight’s hidey hole and set down his high-energy rifle, and then quickly around the catwalk before creating a whole bunch of ruckus. The noise, however, covered the tap of him landing near Twilight, to which he said, “Boo!” He struck out with a palm full of pulsing, blue energy. At the same time, his ship sent out two signals, one that notified him finding Twilight’s location that he was in pursuit -------------------------- Back in Jenosa’s ship, the woman’s green eyes widened, “Adam…they found him!” |

While Faulias and Gellion had their discussion, Twilight remained hidden behind the large stack of crates, the field of dark energy he had spread out was meant to cover a large area, but he had been unable to focus it over most of the warehouse due to how swiftly he had done it. However he was confident that it would hide him well enough, and if Faulias was truly on his side this would be where he showed it. As he was unable to see anything from where he stood Twilight instead relied on his senses of sound and 'tracking', that being energy recognition. Faulias active power suit stood out in the atmosphere around them like a sore thumb, however there was something else there too, something unidentifiable... What was it? Whatever it was, Twilight found it incredibly hard to pin-point, and it felt like it slipped out of his grasp whenever he thought he had its location. What he could tell however was that it did not feel like the static signature of a power armor. Then there was the sound of their footsteps and voices, he was able to clearly hear both of these, and, he guessed, it being the only reason he had even a faint grasp on where this strange signature came from. Twilight gave off a low hiss, not enough to escape his power armor, when the one known as Gellion identified his ship as being here. How troublesome... This could turn out prety bad for both him and Faulias. But it seemed the Bounty Hunter had a plan of his own, wheter it was to save himself, or Twilight, he could not tell. "I had scans of movement in or near this building... Tell you what. You stay in here, check every shadow, you seem to be more perceptive than I am. I'll check the perimeter outside." That in itself gave Twilight a few ideas of what might come, and as such he took one silent footstep back as he readied himself incase the 'man' would indeed find him. However it seemed that Faulias was either trying to save himself, or conspiring with the other person so as to not raise Twilights suspicions before it was too late for him to react... But until he was proven otherwise, he had to trust the man as that was his only way out of this mess right now. Twilight heard the footsteps of Faulias walk outside and disappear, after which the atmosphere in the warehouse seemed to tense up for the lone Ing, as the 'stranger' was walking around the warehouse, apparently searching it. He just heard some kind of ruckus some ways off, when he got a message on his HUD, he was actually surprised that function still worked in his own suit, but he did do routine maintenance on it himself, so not too surprising perhaps.
Just as he read this he heard a very low, barely audible 'tap' next to him, followed by the voice of Gellion saying "Boo!". Twilight had just enough time to turn toward the 'man' as his helmet became the impact point of a world of pain. With a shattering sound Twilight was sent flying back, landing on the ground just outside the crates he had hidden behind as he continued to slide a meter or two before stopping. The palm full of energy had made a huge dent in Twilights helmet, particularily the visor, which now revealed the upper left corner of his 'face' and the left side of his head, where the blow had hit. ((Think my avatar, except it took part of the actual helmet too xD)) A very audible hiss escaped Twilight as he shot up from his lying position, shortly followed by him jumping up on his feet as he thrust his right hand out toward the now obscured Gellion as the dark energy in the area was swiftly gathered into his open palm, a mere second later the smoldering orb of darkness was sent flying toward the strange 'man'. Twilights plan was not to actually hurt Gellion, but to surprise him or at best, prevent him from moving. The orb itself would 'explode' as it reached the crates and shower the area behind them, where Gellion stood, with entangling dark energy. Not waiting to see if the attack had had the desired results Twilight began to run around the crates as he headed for his ship, tearing off the fabric which covered it as he more or less slammed the opening hatch in with a loud 'thunk', as he ran inside it into the engine room. Even if he escaped the area, they would most likely not simply leave his ship there, and he could not leave the planetary light energy orb behind. The entire venture had been in just a few seconds, and as he came into the small engine room he entered a code sequence into the core of the ship, as a hatch opened showering the Ing in a bright light from a small orb which was set in the center of the contraption, it not being more than about a decimeter in diameter. Twilight quickly disengaged the systems which held it in place, as he took it in his clawed hand and while holding it in his left hands grasp began to run back outside, however he did not suspect Gellion to have been distracted long enough for him to get outside too, so in the event the 'man' tried to bar his bath, he'd try to tackle the guy. Despite his appearance Twilight was very strong physically, though his true strength lie in his ability to control light and dark energy. --- There was a sudden 'bleep' sound from a small PDA on Dr. Harris hip, and hearing this the scientist took it out of its pocket and examined the message he had just recieved. "Well well, it would seem one of my contacts have found the target. And is now in pursuit." He said after reading Gellion's message, before the man put the PDA away once again. "I'm glad you told me of these 'AI', but I'm afraid I have work to do now. If you will excuse me..." He then said, gesturing Donovan to the door. |

((OOC: I've been waiting for this.)) Faulias was pacing the grounds outside the warehouse when he heard Gellion shout inside. "Boo!" This was the que he was waiting for. He quickly opened a comm to the troops from before, sending them a voice message.
With a grin, he closed the comm, and clenched his right, oversized suit's fist tightly. It rippled with energy, and with a roar, he slammed it into the side of the warehouse. A large chunk of the wall crumbled, enough for him to run through comfortably. He pulled out his rifle with one hand, and his pistol with the other, and opened fire on the troops before ducking inside. It was a risky maneuver to be sure, but he could hold out as long as Twilight gave him a hand, and the troops believed his ruse. After ducking inside the hole, he began to patrol the inside of the building for Gellion. He simultaneously sent a message to command, saying:
His oversized gauntlet began to glow again, energy flowing into the pistol that it grasped. The pistol itself began to glow as well, and he fired a shot past the spacecraft, which detonated violently on the wall behind the ship. "Gellion! Come out and face me!" (OOC: And so have I. *ACTIVATE POLAR STAR OVERDRIVE* *Get's jiggy with the music* Also, I'm going to go out on a limb here so as to make the sure the battle doesn't become too dragged out. Tell me if there's anything bothering you about my post Fat.) The recoil and 'energy' he got back from the attack was mostly normally, there was a small 'twinge' in it that felt strange...and yet familiar somehow. He could not put a finger on what it was about Twilight that felt familiar after touching him; he probably didn't sense it the first time, since he was too far away or was too busy to notice, the feeling being subtle; and just before his attack in this hanger, as the dark energy was most likely keeping him from sensing him. And it was this dark energy that surprised him the most when it hit him. He could feel the unusual energy try to drain his energy out of him. Granted, it was cold, but even his kind had temperature resistance; it was how this energy was condensed and almost 'alive;' as if he could feel the very nature of this substance when it made contact. It was like this substance was a vacuum to other forms of energy as well. But he could it obviously had a limit to how much it could absorb, and he had plenty of energy in him to go around. He sent out a burst of it to help dissipate the energy, although the best Twilight's attack had done was mostly slow him down. Before long, he had gotten rid of it, though he had barely enough time to react when the comm. unit in his head buzzed to life. He sneered at Faulias's dirty trick. "You will regret spreading this propaganda, Khayorn, and being the betrayer, considering you have no evidence. You humans really do have an oddity for creating chaos and causing trouble amongst your kind." He gave orders to his troops to guard the entrance and that he would personally take; he just wanted them to make sure Twilight didn't escape. Even if he did, his 'other' self - his ship - would be on stand by to chase him. "Gellion! Come out and face me!" "It will be...my pleasure! Fool!" And when he stated fool, he stated it because that pistol blast of his had overstressed a small, weakened part of the hangar ceiling, causing it to collapse. While the whole place wasn't going to collapse, nor was it exactly over Faulius, the dust and debris it created was enough for to cover his attack. He had leapt out and grabbed Faulias pistol, and while it was only for a brief moment, it was enough time for the contamination to sink in. The next he felt getting hit by a potent attack and sent flying into the wall. He simply got back up again as if he hadn't been hit at all; although the only indication was his 'skin.' There was no longer clothing or flesh in the center of his chest, but rather what appeared to be a light blue, rubber-looking material that gave off a small, glowing sheen. The next few moments was a fight where Gellion didn't seem to do much other than dodge his attacks mostly, but those that did make contact with him sent little white, specks from his that floated about the air momentarily before disappearing. However, he also seemed to be gathering energy not only on his own but from the attacks Faulias hit him with; this being indicated by a small swirling glow and an occasional speck. But no matter what, Gellion didn't seem to be letting up; and it was when Faulias fired his pistol again that a strange thing occurred. The pistol didn't fire right away, but when it did, Gellion only stood there...smiling as the attack bounced right off of him like a rubber ball and back at Faulias. |

Faulias's eyes widened as the shot bounced off Gellion harmlessly. He lashed out with his charged Breaker Gauntlet at the last minute, the oversized guard on his right hand causing the energy of the shot to dissipate in a contained pulse of concussive energy. "I always knew there was something weird about you, Gellion. Too bad I won't know what it is until you're sprawled over an autopsy table!" Looking down at his pistol, his scanners detected an unknown contaminant working it's way into the architecture. He sighed, threw it aside, and clenched his Breaker Gauntlet with a growl. Arcs of electricity jumped along his hand, winding their way up his arm until they dissipated. "If I can't kill you with weapons fire, I'll just have to rip you apart myself!" He charged Gellion, his suit whirring as it propelled him forward toward his foe as Faulias drew back his fist for a devastating punch. |

Unless Gellion had been paying attention toward the rest of his surroundings toward the later stages of the two combatants fight, he would soon find his legs emveloped in the cold grasp of dark energy once again as Twilight fired a burst of toward the ground where the 'man' stood. Immidiately after exciting the ship Twilight had noticed that there was noise comming from the other end of the warehouse, shortly after noticing that Gellion and Faulias was fighting it out. In a sense Twilight was glad that the man held to his word, but at the same time he was... Sad... No, maybe disappointed in himself? That he had doubted him. Since it did not appear as if the strange being named Gellion had noticed him yet Twilight saw the opportunity to aid Faulias and potentially shorted this fight to a minimum, as the man had most likely called for backup. 'Seeing as the dark energy from before did not seem to hold him long, I've got to try something else, or wait for the right moment.' He thought as he leapt up to the stack of crates from earlier, watching the fight for a few moments from a high place where he doubted neither of them would really look. It was then that Twilight saw his chance, as Faulias rushed at the man with his powerful gauntlet ready for a strike. Jumping into the air the Ing fired a small but quick blast of dark energy toward the feet of the man, enough to hinder his movements for atleast a second if it hit, which would be enough. In the meantime Twilight flew through the air, almost going through the hole in the ceiling before he started going downward, about to land a few meters to the side of where his attack had been aimed, charging up a glowing orb of light energy in his right hand, ready to fire it as a beam of light the moment he landed. |

If Twilight had nailed Gellion a few seconds early, Faulias might have found himself in the clear, for he had been waiting for the reckless man to try and grab him. Ultimately, Faulias's enhanced strength appeared to be superior to Gellion's, but the odd man appeared to have enough strength in him to keep himself from being instantly torn apart. At first it looked like Faulias was going to win, but Gellion found himself smiling unlike his kind, finally having his body at the right angle. An energy blast far more powerful than the high-energy rifles the GFed used, but carried the same exact wave-length, pounded into Faulias's back. The blast had come from Gellion's rifle, the one with the odd, red tinted metal plating - it had been lying on some creates when the debris came down, and some of this debris lodged it in place, keeping it from moving from it's recoil. And it was firing without anyone pulling the trigger. In essence, it was acting like a stationary, trap gun. It fired again fire a succession of two shots while Gellion was quickly amassing a field of energy, preparing to launch it at him. |

(OOC: Don't sweat it, Twilight. I'll just adapt to what it was that you had in mind. Sorry for the delay, BTW EDIT: I completely skipped over that last part in Twilight's prior post somehow, didn't even catch it. Edited to reflect that scene instead.) "It's your choice, Doctor," the agent curtly replied. "You can listen to what I have to say, or you can watch your entire operation brought to its knees by forces you can't even imagine." Donovan wasn't surprised that Harris was so eager to show him out the door. What was more surprising was that the scientist was surprised that Section 6 was clued into what was going on. They were always spying on everyone, including people within the Federation. Especially people within the Federation. Thus, it was fairly routine for them to intercept the notice which had carefully gone out only to a select few bounty hunters. Once they saw that Twilight was the target, things shifted into high gear, and Donovan was sent. Section 6 wanted in, and they weren't the type of agency to let a little thing like legality get in the way of an opportunity such as this. "Believe me, we have just as much interest in keeping this quiet as you do," Donovan said. "You let your agents do what they have to do, but please, just listen to me, Harris. These aren't just AI you're dealing with. Imagine a living human soul stuck in the digital world, and that might give you some idea of what these... entities are. Sentient computer programs not bound by any hardware, free to roam the airwaves. Crippling your systems would just be the beginning for these two. They will open up the gates of hell if we don't stop them quickly." Donovan took a few steps towards the door and stopped next to Harris, looking him straight in the eye. "I'm going to go have lunch in the dining hall. I'll be there when you're ready to take me seriously." ......................... Grace nodded at Rex, who immediately lowered his pistol. She could see the hesitation on his face, but he wasn't about to argue with her, especially not now. "Alrighty then, let's cut to the chase," she said as Wight complied with his end. "Your bosses, the government, they just want Twilight as their own little science project. All they wanna do is stick him in a lab, poke at him, cut him open, see if his insides are the same color as ours, all that stuff. I know these government types, they're all alike. "Now then," she continued, pacing the floor of the warehouse in front of him. "I have some friends in high places... powerful, dangerous people. They believe Twilight has a very bright future ahead of him, and they don't want to see him turned into a lab rat." She gave wight a subtle tilt of her head in Rex's direction, indicating that the young man was a representative of said powerful friends (which was true in a way... not everything she said was an outright lie). "So here's the deal. My friends have put forth a very generous offer for Twilight... 25 million. Cash. You help me capture Twilight and I'll split that with you, 50-50. That's a lot of money... especially for a guy like you. You'd never have to worry about some government stooge tugging on your leash again." Conventional wisdom said that insulting Wight by comparing him to an attack dog may not have been the best way to go. However, Grace's logic was that by demeaning his position as much as she could might convince him that maybe the grass was greener on her side. It was a gamble, to be sure, but even if he didn't go for it, she still felt she was in a win-win situation here. She stopped pacing and stared him directly in the eye. Wight was much taller than her, so she had to look up a bit to do so, smiling as she did, awaiting his response. To this point, her hands were still open and empty. If someone was going to break the uneasy peace here, it wasn't going to be her. Edited by The Boss, Apr 11 2009, 12:05 AM.

Adam and Gate chatted for a while, clearing up old misunderstandings and enjoying each others company, when Adam was abruptly reminded of the mission which brought him here in the first place. Although Gate was thoroughly pissed when Adam flew him to the top of a remote mountain chain and dumped him there, Adam knew that there was no other way to keep the impulsive GI turned human out of trouble. He had a bad feeling that whatever was going on had a lot more depth than it currently seemed, and it bothered him that he couldn’t figure it out. It was just an immeasurable, unquantifiable ‘gut feeling’, that nebulous human sixth sense that his new virtual mind had tremendous issues with. While he sped back towards Jenosa’s location, the HFI in her pocket escaped and hovered briefly before disappearing out the open door. Jenosa was hardly stable enough to take on a battle of this magnitude right now, and Adam had no desire to watch one of his friends get mowed down by carelessness. Jenosa’s ship lifted away from the fighting. This was the time for sneakiness, and Adam was getting better at it all the time. Keeping low to the ground, the palm-sized HFI wound its way through the debris of the warehouse, gathering as much data as it could while it zeroed in on Twilight’s location. The Ing was notoriously good at hiding, but his weapons gave off a signature like a second sun. The HFI’s shielding was impressive, but not strong enough to deflect the sheer volume of fire being shot within the crumbling warehouse. To protect his most cherished possession, Adam kept his HFI concealed for as long as possible. But, when Twilight finally stepped out of the action momentarily to avoid being shot, Adam made his move. All of a sudden, the small, cylindrical object appeared in front of Twilight’s face. “Come with me if you want to live.” The situation fit so perfectly that he couldn’t help himself. |

The first two shots pounded into Faulias viciously, causing him to fall forward from the sneak attack, the second volley missing as a result. As he looked up, he saw Gellion charging another energy blast, and he jumped to the side just in time enough for it to miss. The rifle was still a big problem, so Faulias had to rethink things as he ducked and weaved through shots. As far as he could tell, Gellion had a talent for manipulating technology in nigh-impossible ways, and that included energy, so what could he do? Gellion was quick while he was slow, and he could deflect his shots... perhaps he should try a different tactic. "Funny how you can only hit me when I'm not looking, Gellion! Gotta do what you can to win, though, right? You'd never win otherwise!" Faulias yelled, pushing a frantic command on his PDA Console. Outside, there was a low whirring noise coming from the direction of Faulias' ship. |
