"Ohhhhh, you're asking for it, prick," Jenosa fumed as she bolted right after Faulias, jumping down and letting her adrenaline rush take over. The world flashed and became totally gray to her, except for Faulias, and he appeared to move really slow - a lot slower than he should be. She gave him a good knock on the helmet, although it didn't too much, it also didn't make much noise t hanks to Jenosa's gauntlets. Surprisingly, the woman gave Faulias a wry smirk, “You really like pissing me off, don't you." She clearly enjoyed the little chase. She listened to him whisper, already thinking ahead of him. "We can't wait for Adam," she responded, "if my guess is right, those ships that came down, which means we have to act fast. The best we can do is sneak there as best as we can. From there, we'll have to figure out a way to rescue Twilight; most likely use one of the buildings as a lookout point; from there, we can figure out what to do, which is my kind of style. C'mon, follow me," she gesture hastily, "There’s a patrol coming this way." Stealth was not a favorite of Jenosa's; her and mind craved for action, although she knew when discretion was best, she did become a bounty hunter partially because of the thrill. She also felt it showed how she was a strong, independent woman, a fact about herself that she was proud to show off. hence, she found this sneaking business a bit disgruntling to her, not doing what she enjoyed; and especially because the only way to make up for her lack of stealth skills was this alien, sixth sense of hers. It was one thing to living the rest of her life with it, but she rarely enjoyed relying on it. Since her suit expanded her senses quite a bit, she felt her mind bombarded by various types of sensation scattered all about this expanded awareness of hers that she never had experience much before. Grudgingly, though, she was thankful for it for the same reason she disliked it. And to Faulias, it was obvious that Jenosa' antsy, the finger twitching in anticipation for a fight; especially whenever the troops got near them. A part of her seemed eager to get into a short fight - not to kill them, but just to simply release all that tension in her. However, that changed when they got where they assumed twilight was supposed to be. It felt like a 'fog' was surrounding the area, the world of unnerving sensations being distorted, which bothered her even more. She could barely make out the soldiers within the area, and as soon as they entered the 'fog,' Jenosa seethed momentarily with pain. It was like her entire body was breathing in acid through every pore, a tingling burning sensation. The familiar thumping sensation began resonating inside of her entire body, and she was entangled by alien instincts to call out for 'help.' Faulias saw the lines of her suit flare up for a moment, giving off small, white beads that flickered up into the air like dust, and a strange but subtle energy wave was given off from her; no one but Faulias might notice it Jenosa face was frantic as she tried to seek out a conscious to connect with, but in all of this 'burning fog,' she could barely make out anything at all. Desperate, she reached to, trying to find a source of energy that she could recognize and didn't feel distorted an- She snapped back to her senses, gasping at how her hand had landed up on Faulias's chest, a strange tingling sensation momentarily entering his chest. Surprised, she also didn't realize that her irises that she had looked at him with had momentarily glimmered a light, eerie blue. "Sorry, I'm fine," she lied, having gotten used to the burning sensation like a person would with a rash. "I just thought I sensed something, str- There was the shout of marines. They had been spotted. --------------------- The marines watching over the strange, reddish bio-mass growing witness a bulb forming, which eventually burst open to reveal a bizarre creature rooted with bug like tendrils to the power systems. It was the same, reddish bio-matter, but this time more cohesive and given a stable form. What was different, however, was that there were purple tendrils all over it, like veins. The mass had several nodules poking out of it, each with a hole that appeared to be breathing. In the center of the veins, a yellow nucleus pulsed bright like a heart. And within the few minutes that it had hatched, the radiation levels around the warehouse had gone down drastically; safe enough for a person to walk around. Well, a marine who accidentally stepped in the red bio-mass might disagree, as he gradually starting to feel weak, have double vision, and felt like his heart was pounding a shockwave through his body... |

“I am here because Twilight is another of those refugees. He was tricked into coming here, offered a bounty when all that was waiting for him was a stasis tube. We didn’t start this fight, and I arrived too late to prevent it. I will not stand for the blatant abuse of the rights for sentients, and if you read my files as closely as I hope you have, then I’m sure you can appreciate why.” "Sure," Donovan replied. "Always standing up for the little guy. Even if the little guy is a superpowered Ing warrior... or a trigger happy fugitive. "Look, to be perfectly honest with you, I could care less about Sanctuary. This isn't about them. It's about you." |

Faulias nodded at Jenosa's suggestion, and the two headed off into the camp that had been set up. As the two clumsily sneaked around (stealth was neither of their strong suits it seemed), Faulias kept a close eye on her. Even though he trusted her as a person, with the new knowledge that she was 'infected' with what that monster Gellion had, he was having problems looking upon her without scrutiny. Every time her finger would touch the trigger of her weapon, his fist clenched and he readied his own firearm... just in case. He was thinking to himself the entire time they were darting around. What if she loses control? She's one of the few feminine female mercenaries I've ever run into... I'd hate to have to fight her. I wonder if its contagious? That would royally suck if I got it too. I never get sick... He glanced at Jenosa. It almost looked like she was... in pain? Nah, he was imagining it. Well, it can't be so bad, if she's made due with it so far. Of course, she seems to be a tough little girlie as is, without the whole 'I'm fighting a supervirus constantly' thing. Man, she's pretty fit too... I wonder... I wonder if she... His thoughts were cut off as his vision panned to Jenosa, whose actions were becoming a bit odd. Instinctively his fist clenched again and his weapon raised from his side, pointed at nothing in particular. "Jenosa...?" he whispered. "You alright?" She didn't seem to hear him, and only struggled to stay standing. She was reaching out to anything it seemed, and her eyes... her eyes had turned a sickly, eerie blue tint. He stepped up to her and she fell onto him, her hand on his chest; the contact sent a bizarre tingling sensation throughout his body, and as he looked down at her, he saw the blue in her eyes fade back to their natural hue. "Jenosa," he said hushedly. "Jenosa, stick with me here, alright? Come on." "Sorry, I'm fine," she responded. He wasn't so sure, but he let her continue. "I just thought I sensed something, str-" The cries of alert from two soldiers broke off her sentence, and sent Faulias into a battleready mindset. He grasped the female warrior by her suit, flung her over his shoulders and set her gently on his backpack unit. Hold on!" he shouted before charging forward, slamming into the soldiers with his shoulder, coming back around with his powered gauntlet for a second attack, knocking one of the troops unconscious and sending another to the ground. He quickly jumped over the K.O.ed marine to reach the other, pinning and dragging him into cover with one arm while pulling the unconscious one along with his other arm. The two soldiers that saw them were just the least of their problems if they didn't hurry, so Faulias went to work. He ripped off the soldier's helmet, pinned his arms and legs to the ground with his bulk and held the man's head by his hair to keep his attention and focus. "Scream and you die. Now, where is Twilight? Tell me and I'll let you go." ((OOC: Twilight, I'll let you cover the soldier, since you seem hard up for conversation at this point and, well, I don't have the slightest freaking clue where the protagonist is held. XD)) Edited by Metamyth, Jul 20 2009, 01:20 AM.

"HEY!!!" she yelled in furious protest, clearly finding this very undignifying, "I can still MOVE YOU JACKASS." She was starting to get really annoyed of Faulias trying to act like her 'Knight in Shining armor.' She would have been beating the tarp out of his head while she rode if it weren 't for the fact that they were dealing with some soldiers; and it would have probably made her more undignified, making herself look like a real damsel in distress.' Oh, she just couldn't wait till this was over. And it was even more infuriating because she couldn't do anything like this at all. It was only when they had one of the marines 'hostage' did she slip out, flip and land on her two feet did she 'support' Faulias's words with a threatening visage that completely belied her enthusiastic, optimistic demeanor. "How about 'Scream and your heads becoming a sorching ball of fire." As if to demonstrate her point, she flicked open the palm of her hand, displaying a momentary flash of flame coming out of it. She sounded quite serious in there being more than one head involved. |

OOC: Sorry for auto, was going by the conversation we had previously Boss. I know I took far to long in posting this, and I know this is getting reduntant... But I'm gonna try to be more on schedule now >>; Things keep comming up that kills my muse for writing. --- The forces who had taken up pursuit of the Grey Fox initially had been the local marine forces who had followed as best they could in their simple and rather outdated transports, while shooting whatever weapons they had to try and stop her. Sadly they were far from well trained and as such in their eagerness to bring her down, or whatever was causing them to disregard public safety, their repeated misses caused heavy damage to the city around the Fox but not her own veichle. Wheter anyone was hurt in that was impossible to tell from either of their positions. After nearly a minute, by which time Grace had gotten quite far from the scene of Twilights capture the comm units on the marine transports crackled to life. ["Stop with that needless destruction you twerps, go back on ground and help whomever you might have hurt in your stupidity or get back to base if you don't have the guts to face what you caused, but stay out of our way. That is an order."] A rather brash, commanding voice spoke over the comms, a moment later a group of five G-Fed fighters swooped by, catching up with the fox nearly instantly. In less than a few seconds two of the fighters had went past the fox veichle as they began to make a U-turn, the other three fighters positioned shortly behind so they could easily continue the pursuit should she try to veer from the path. However the Fed's had been lucky, and Grace found herself on one of the few straight roads in this part of the city with no place to go, however the fighters was not shooting just yet. But that was when two whom had passed her by came flying back, comming to a near stop about a hundred meters infront of her, only ten meters from the ground. Before she could react in that heavy veichle of hers the lead fighter fired a laser cannon mounted on the underside of the craft which hit the ground under the truck even as Grace undoubtebly tried to avoid it, causing enough of a blast to topple it and send it reeling along the road. In a few seconds the truck had been surrounded as three of the crafts hovered close, the guns aimed toward it while the other two circled the area. --- The trooper Faulias had pinned down and ripped the helmet off of looked to be in a state of pure panic, which might not be so odd considering the giant which was practically sitting on him. "I- I.. Saw the target being loa-" he stuttered, seemingly close to crapping his pants. However he was unable to finish the sentence as a bullet interupted him mid-sentence. "Not that he had any important information, but a cowardly traitor who would willingly give information to the enemy without even a bit of interogation deserves to be put down." Lt. Evenn said as he holstered the large handgun he had used to kill the unfortunate soldier. As Evenn stepped out from behind the broken wall he had used as cover and brought up his rather large high-energy rifle, though not directly aiming it at either of them. Evenn himself was rather intimidating. Not on par with Faulias of course, but he was a good 2.2 meters in his armor which was a form the most part black coated PED suit, however it carried clear changes from the regular model. For example the backpack storage was larger, though seemingly protected, while there was what looked to be smaller storages on his forearms and under his kneepads, while at the same time there was a few small but noticable cables connecting the armor to the weapon he now held. "Never thought I'd see the day the great Faulias Kayhorn would turn against the Galactic Federation, but I guess everything is possible." He commented to Faulias as he slowly approached, his weapon at the ready but not aimed at either of them. "Where'd you find the cutie? The local strip club?" Though it might be obvious he was trying to goad them into doing something reckless, or stalling for time, it really did not matter to Evenn. He was certain he could handle both of them himself, but he decided to go by standard squad procedure of surrounding the target, and if lowering himself to petty insults was the way to do so, then thats what he would do. And in the meantime his squad-mates who were not taking care of the body of their recently deceased was sneaking around the two, not yet having their hypermodes active. --- Panic began to spread among the standard marines overseeing the location of the battle as they witnessed the apparently alien mass begin to expand and grow before revealing what seemed to be a living organism from it. It did not get any better however when one of the marines suddenly collapsed, seemingly having a high fever combined with uncontrollable twitching. Two other marines hurried to bring the man into the transport vessel that had landed previously as they brought him to a containment cell, after which they called for a medic. The two soldiers was however ordered to stay where they were, but not told to them was the fact that they might be infected with whatever had affected their companion, and as such the command did not want them moving about before this was confirmed. In the meantime the other marines were told to keep their distance from the red biomass as research and containment teams were dispatched from the fleet above. And all at the same time while everyone else was busy with this 'insignificant' task a squad of PED marines and a small labor force was transporting Twilights unconcious form onto the transport ship, having secured him inside the vessel they began to move him to a 'cell' redesigned to hold the Ing while it was moved elsewhere. Shortly afterward the ships engines began to flare as it prepared to take off once again. |

The sound of a gunshot caused Faulias to freeze, damning his luck as the terrified man's directions were cut off. Twilight was being loaded somewhere, and that's all they would probably figure out now, especially since they'd been found. At the sound of a slightly familiar voice he stood up, recognizing the appearance of one Lieutenant Evann. Faulias had been serving as a GFed Trooper back when he joined the forces as a meager private, and had quit soon after. "Not that he had any important information, but a cowardly traitor who would willingly give information to the enemy without even a bit of interogation deserves to be put down." "Should've trained him better then, Evenn," Faulias said with a grin. "Long time no see. Last I saw of you you'd just joined the Feds." He had turned around as the Lieutenant continued, pacing a few steps, pushing the boundaries. "Never thought I'd see the day the great Faulias Kayhorn would turn against the Galactic Federation," Evann said cockily, "but I guess everything is possible." As the Lieutenant spoke, Faulias had leaned in to Jenosa and whispered in her ear, his visor having retracted back into his helmet with a clank, the mechanism still not operating perfectly after being replaced. "Keep an eye out. There's bound to be PED troops around." "Where'd you find the cutie? The local strip club?" Evann had a certain twang in his voice, the kind of tone that tells a person that they're really trying to piss you off, and have a feeling they're succeeding. Faulias kept his cool, pivoted on his heel, and retorted. "Is that jealousy I hear in your voice, Evenn? I always heard you could never score a woman yourself," he quipped, not about to fall into starting the fight. "Just as well, you wouldn't know what to do with one anyway, especially her," he finished, gesturing backward toward Jenosa. "Bit of a wild one, she is." "I hope you're not planning on starting anything, Lieutenant. I'm sure you've heard of my reputation... we just want Twilight. That's it. No one else has to die here." |

Jenosa's head snapped towards the sound of gunfire, swearing inwardly and cursing this strange 'fog' disrupting her senses. She would have sensed that guy if it wasn't for this strange stuff; she could tell he had a PED on him due to the massive hue, which was a swirling, distorted cloud of purple and blue, that was surrounding him. Even before Faulias warned her about the possibility of other marines, she was already keeping an eye, her fingers twitching noticeably, ready to either take her handguns or throw an energy blast. She was comfortable with this position, as she had been in it before; and yet, those damn alien instincts were nagging frustration; or more like, the 'fog' was. All of her life, she had trained herself to keep a sharp eye out for anything dangerous, and at the same time, it now felt like she had been so reliant on this sixth sense of hers, as if her ears and eyes were defective. It was a rather ambivalent feeling she got right now, especially considering the pain the atmosphere was causing; everything about it made these instincts crawl...just like phazon did. It problematic enough that they were in a tight situation when she was having an identity crisis. Not to mention that Evenn’s comment did aggravate her; but only by a bit. She had gotten nasty comments like that before, and she had long ago learned not to be so impulsive; of course, Faulias’s comment relieved her quite a bit in more way than one; mainly by taking her mind momentarily off of that ambivalent feeling. Smirking, she found herself warming up to Faulais’s attitude, chuckling to herself inwardly, Oh, burn! "Bit of a wild one, she is." She smiled at this and added with a chuckle, “Oh, and that I am, I’m quite sure.” Then the instincts came back full force, only this time, it wasn’t the pain from the ‘fog;’ in fact, the burning atmosphere had begun to suddenly dissipate. The pain, to her relief, had lessened greatly to an itch inside of her body, and although her senses were still disrupted, she was able to make out everything much more clearly now. And that was what drove those instincts warning up the wall; and for one, she found herself might thankful for them. She whispered in Faulias’s ear, “His buddies are moving around behind us, probably try to set up a good angle for an ambush. I’ll give you the signal of where of they if it comes to it.” Then she looked at Evenn with a big, naughty, knowing grin on her face; she’d thought she’d go for al little psychological warfare herself. “Y’know, I’m surprised you actually shot the guy. I always got the impression you Fed soldiers always cared about one another; even if the guy is known to piss his pants by simply hearing a gunshot. Guess I misread…although it’s funny, because you could have just court-martial the bugger, save his life, and then trick us by setting up an ambush to where we were told to go. Instead of trying to do so right now. And…” she finished with a sarcastic note, “you probably never questioned why Faulias’s is interested in rescuing Twilight.” ---------------------------------------- Jefferson Gane was a man with nerves of steel. Or…at least he’d like to think that, as the strange alien bio mass spreading all over the place was sending chills down his spine. He had seen plenty of weird, alien stuff in his life before, ranging from four eyed freaks to fat, bulbous nasties; and none of those even made him flinch. But this thing had the most creepy ass, pulsing glow. Saying the stuff was radioactive didn't even cut it. It was like the carpet of bio-mass itself was breathing...and would leap out to surround you at any moment. Then one of the soldiers -who had apparently stepped into the mess and described the bizarre, pulsing sensation that had pounded into his body when he did - had fainted. That, along with the message of everyone else possibly having come down with something infectious. The worst happened before the medics even had a chance to reach the victim - and it was enough to make him queasy. He had never been queasy in his life from anything had seen. the soldier's body had went from twitching to bending his limbs unnatural and finally, both man and armor seemed to liquify. The armor and all seemed to morph into what appeared to be a single creature - maybe the armor had fused with the soldier, he thought, but he never got much of an answer. He still retained a humanoid form, but the mechanical detail of the armor was gone, the plates smooth and appearing to have melted into the gray 'skin' of the transformed marine; although on it's back, all the skin between the 'carapace' shells were bright, blood red. Like the bio-matter. Even the helmet no longer held its stiff shape, the glass melting along with everything else. Alongside the fingers on each hand melting into two big ones, the head was replaced with a bulb, looking like an un-bloomed, fleshy flower. Each section had a stiff texture - as if they were the plates that had made up the helmet. The bulb bloomed with a shine, and, two plates on it back momentarily shimmering blue, fired a white energy blast at the incoming medic. It tore right into the armored chest and exploded with a blinding flash. The marines wasted no time in taking down the strange creature, and though the thing took a lot to kill, their weapons were enough to keep it at bay from killing anyone else. It's guts exploded into green liquid as the body was torn apart, the green color evaporating from the liquid light colored steam and condensed into a eerie, pulsing green glob that floated still in mid-air. To Jefferson, the beat of this glob gave him the strange sense that the creature they had killed was still alive. |

OOC: Sorry if its a bit jumpy, got a lot of talk to sort through for poor Evenn xD Evenn had met Faulias before, back when he had recently joined the Fed's. Back then he had signed up for the typical reasons, protecting the galaxy, seeing new places, that kind of bullshit they used to recruit young idiots like him. Of course, battling against space pirates and other scum in the galaxy quickly eroded those views, along with ones innocence and often times, ones morality. At first Evenn had looked up to Faulias as one of those "perfect" soldiers, the kind of person that showed the best of the Galactic Federation Marines, however that as well quickly eroded after the man left to become a Bounty Hunter, a simple Mercenary. Not like he ever cared about the man too much to begin with, as he never really got to know him, but Evenn did not forget the giant of a man. It was about a year ago now. He and his squad, elites among the G-Fed marines, had been contacted for a special project involving advanced PED technology, rumored to be even more effective than the one used by the troops on Norion. Evenn jumped at the opportunity to really show his mettle, and so did his soldiers. From that day, they were no longer part of the regular command structure of the G-Fed Marines. "Should've trained him better then, Evenn," Faulias taunted, like if their armor types woulden't give clear sign of how far appart they were in rank or status. "Long time no see. Last I saw of you you'd just joined the Feds." He finished, clearly looking down on Evenn. But that did not deter him from his stalling the giant. He only needed a minute. As the two traded words, most being veiled or outright insults, Evenn was pacing infront of the two, slowly closing in while not staying too long in any one spot. Sadly it did not appear as if either of them would react as he had hoped to the last remark. The red-head did not seem as impulsive as she first looked, a good thing for her. "Is that jealousy I hear in your voice, Evenn? I always heard you could never score a woman yourself," Faulias retorted, likely trying to make Evenn do something rash or disturb his concentration "Just as well, you wouldn't know what to do with one anyway, especially her," he finished, gesturing backward toward Jenosa. "Bit of a wild one, she is." "Yes, its surprising how much pointless information leaks out from a secret training program, woulden't you say? Besides, wild or not, I think I've got the right tranquilizer right here." Evenn said, his voice losing the 'I'm trying to piss you off' tone and returning to being more serious, all buisness, as he took a firmer hold of his rifle. He was about to add some more, when Faulias cut in, finally being serious. "I hope you're not planning on starting anything, Lieutenant. I'm sure you've heard of my reputation... we just want Twilight. That's it. No one else has to die here." Right, had he already forgotten that sniper he sent? Or was that a vigilante? Either way it did not matter, there were too many who was interested in this 'Twilight'. Something was definitely up regarding the thing. From the looks of his HUD radar, his troops was almost in position, just needed to buy a little more time. And as he thought this he was about to start talking again, but was cut off as the girl with Faulias spoke up. And…” she finished with a sarcastic note, “you probably never questioned why Faulias’s is interested in rescuing Twilight.” Evenn coulden't help but chuckle at this. "Missy, you seem to mistake us for your average raw recruits. Trust me, I did him a favor, for the first time he'd get up against Space Pirates, he'd have chickened out, giving them ample opportunity to overrun them, resulting in the deaths of his comrades, and potentially dozens of civilians. Or he would have surrendered like the coward he was, and been taken for experimentation. Either way, I did him a favor." Evenn explained, sounding like he was teaching Jenosa the 123's of being a soldier, while ignoring her retort about him setting them up for an ambush. It hardly mattered wheter they knew it was comming or not, the advanced PED suits his team was packing was no laughing matter. Just a small bit of time left, he had one more trick in the bag left. "Missy, really now. Why would I care for why a simple terrorist would be interested in a bio-weapon? Trying to play on my morals won't work, for they hardly consider outlaws such as yourselves, and even less so after your little sniper took down one of my men." Evenn said, his voice starting out somewhat amused, going toward calm and serious, and ending with hints of anger in it. And just about then a dozen or so energy spikes shot up in the nearby vicinity as his squadmates activated their hypermodes as they jumped out behind cover, many being nearly fifty meters away, but having a clear shot at the pair with their high-energy weapons. "Now then, I'm a man of my word, so I will say this much. Drop your weapons, and I can guarantee you won't be shot down like the scum you are." And as he was saying this, his own hypermode activated, beginning as a pulse from the battery on his back and the smaller ones on his limbs, before he was suddenly emvelopped in a shimmering field of blue, and with how the power-pack of the rifle itself was glowing, it was clear it did not pack normal energy. --- In the meantime the PED troopers near the transport ship ordered all normal troopers away from the weird biomatter, as they consulted each other and their superiors about how to proceed. They decided that, with how the Phazon readings in the area was seemingly disappearing, the organism was either absorbing it, or cleansing it somehow. This could be a usefull specimen, but first they needed to contain it. After a small bit of long-range probing the team decided the thing did not contain any phazon, or atleast guessed it didn't, and as such one of the PED troopers were ordered to attempt fire at the biomatter, to see how it would react toward the phazon. |

While the tension in the air became thick, everything else became crystal clear to Jenosa. The strange fog had dissipated entirely, and she could clearly sense each soldier setting up their ambush; she had been briefed by Faulias what the PED suits could do when active, so she knew she'd have to improvise for the lack of PED equipment. That instinct of hers was also buzzing around her mind like a warning klaxon, the PEDs as though they were hot, scorching flames that almost burned her just by sensing them. She did her best to ignore it and the reflex to call out, although it was starting to become a pain; she wasn't about to let her humanity suddenly wash out completely. It was one thing to have her body change, but her mind was another. "I'm counting about 10 of those troopers behind us, each with a PED," she whispered back in Faulias's ear, and added enthusiastically, "You up for some fun?" Jenosa raised an eye brow when Evenn mentioned something about a sniper, "I don't know who you're talking about; nor do I think Faulias does; probably just some coincidental rogue. But quite frankly, I've learned soldiers are prone to being manipulated by their superiors, and right now, we're trying to avoid from any GFed casualties. But I guess that doesn't matter to you; nor am I going to try to support my idea that your action was stupid - I'd just be repeating myself, sicko." Jenosa felt those flames of each PED burst into a bonfire, and that really set her senses on edge. She saw Evenn activate his, and the man, to her, became a blue ball of fire - it was so difficult to make out the details of his suit, less the general shape of his body. The instinct intensified, now telling her to do many things that were alien and she had no idea what they really were supposed to do at all - it was like a reflex, not thinking but just doing. "So," she asked with wry grin, "should 'scum' like us surrender, eh Faulias?" ___________________ Jefferson watched from a save distance as the PED trooper fired phazon onto the thing; both afraid and creeped out by even splashing Phazon against it. That stuff already appeared to have killed on of his pals, and with that entire creepy ass glow going about, he thought the radiation might mutate the thing. The reaction they got first thought was pain. The mass of tubes, or now, gaping mouth each lined with teeth, as though the creature was some great hydra, growled in unison. Its pulsing heart made a hostile flare, and one of the mouths bent to suck in the air where the shot had hit. Then a few more shots got directly into the mouths, and the whole thing squealed. The yellow, flaring heart began pulsating rapidly like a strobe light, it's purple veins throbbing massively, spreading all over the red carpet of biomatter, as well as the warehouse debris. One of the areas where there was already purple veins all over the debris exploded, icky red bio matter splashing all over the place. Then one of the top mouths spat a greenish-yellow gob of goo at the PED trooper. The man easily dodged it...and walked strait into a trap. Three tentacles made up of the reddish goop sprouted out near where the trooper was, their small mouths pointed at the trooper while the rest of the body undulated to help keep it balanced. A bulge run up their bodies simultaneously and spat a greenish, dim glowing ball of 'snot' - and they all hit. The man's PED did nothing; in fact, as soon as all three hit, the hypdermode got cancelled. The soldier got knocked of his feet, his armor covered in green goop that appeared to seeping through the plastic of his armor. The man tried to get up weakly, but collapsed back to the ground, unresponsive. Then one of the ordinary soldiers called out and pointed to a lard power supply cord connecting to another warehouse; more of the bio-matter could be seen spreading about the base of it. And this had been quite far away from the demolish warehouse. More small spots were accounted for, each around some sort of power transfer device or cord. Then pandemonium ensued before they realized the full threat of the outbreak. A swarm of big, nasty bugs about the size of ones body popped one of the manholes and began crawling to them. Their carapaces were sleek and appeared arachnid in nature, having fangs and multiple, beady reds eyes to match - they didn't appear to be indigenous to the planet. The PED's told the regular troopers to step aside and let them handle it, but they soon found out their phazon based weapons alone were woefully ineffective at dishing out the damage. All it seemed to do was dizzy and disorientate the creatures, but it didn't slow them down much. The regular troopers’ weapons, however, actually proved effective in dishing out the pain; and when Jefferson suggested in combining their force in tandem, they easily clean sweeped the nasties. The troopers would disrupt the critters, and it made them even more vulnerable to regular weapons fire than before, making them easy kills for the normal troopers. Unfortunately, nobody was paying attention to the downed PED troopers, who’s PED was the only thing left after. The man's body had morphed much like the other 'infected' trooper’s had; only he had changed into something very different; and rather horrific. It was like every bit of him became liquid and then transformed into a green, semi-solid mass of bubbles that, strangely, held a cohesive. Several metal plates of the trooper’s armor were fused to the meniscus of the bubbles, giving it a very bizarre body. In the central bubble was the noticeable outline of the troopers helmet…and within it, his skull, which held beady reds much like the big spiders had. It made off into one of the alleys during the chaos, heading towards Evenn’s location. All the while freaking out several civilians on its way, whom it paid no attention as it gradually multiplied. |

"I believe that the human spirit is indomitable. If you endeavor to achieve, it will happen given enough resolve. It may not be immediate, and often your greater dreams is something you will not achieve within your own lifetime. The effort you put forth to anything transcends yourself, for there is no futility even in death." — Monty Oum | |

(OOC: Short, but I need to get my mind back in the groove.) “It’s about me, huh?” Adam replied to Donovan. He wasn’t entirely surprised by the direction of the conversation, but he had expected the discussion about why he endorsed Samus and Twilight to go a little longer. The stories weren’t entirely independent from one another, however, and Adam was wondering exactly what Donovan was after. “I recognize I’ve put you in a bit of an awkward position and I know any assurances I make are baseless, but I will drop you off safely back on the planet after this discussion is over. If you have questions, ask them.” |
