Roffel House!

As Cemp said, RPs tend to have rather lengthy first posts to establish a setting in which other RPers can inject their characters. Once the RP gets moving we tend to shorten our posts up a bit, but we still like to see posts that are long enough to at least have a decent amount of detail involved.

Other RPers do make their own characters and backgrounds, and they'll generally figure out on their own how to get their characters involved. However, if you have a particular scene in mind, you can work with other RPers to make it happen. This is often a lot of fun.

RPers can't just 'destroy everything', it's considered 'autoing' and 'god-moding' as Cemp described above. So your RP is safe from being blown up. ;-)

The RP starter generally creates the antagonists, because it gives you more control over the RP plot. The antagonists can remain NPCs though, so you don't have to create a new character profile for every new bad guy you create.
