SUPER SHELL BATTLE MODE 3!

(I just moved this topic to the Beginner's section. More appropriate there)

Normally, we don't pressure people to write long intro posts; however, usually good RPs need to start with a descriptive setting. This would allow a certain room for other RPers to work, as well as certain material to work with. Makes it easier for them to figure out what to do with their character.

Yes, in general, RPer's themselves make their own characters and backgrounds. If you referring to an RP you made, then the people joining it would probably use their own characters. In fact, we've always done that on many occasions; it allows a lot more freedom for the other RPers.

Your third question is a bit of an iffy. The RPers can do whatever they want, but within good reason of the RP plot. We can't just have one character destroy everything when the story just starts; then there wouldn't be much of an RP.

This sort of thing can be considered god modding, and often it's big nono. People that manipulate other RPer's character without permission, like saying they did the funky dance, or that your character actually killed them, is considered godmodding. Similarly, having an extremely powerful character blow up the planet is a bit too much.

You can attack or throw a bomb at another character, but don't say it automatically hits all the time. Give the other RP a chance to react.

As for the last one, that could depend on many cases. You can choose to have an antagonist, they could choose to play one, or you could both choose to play the role of an antagonist. It's really up to you and the other RPers to discuss that.

"To look for a shipwreck is at best a crapshoot, and to launch and fund a search, it helps to be the headmaster of the village idiot school or else the kind of stubborn lunatic who tries walk through walls simply because they're in the way. I probably fall in the latter group." - Clive Cussler, The Sea Hunters II
