Gamma-Seven-Niner was one of the last planets in the Orion-Ysn Cluster, just on the very edge of the system's orbit. If one could call G79 a 'planet'. The white-desert world was the size of some of the smallest moons known to the Federation, yet for some reason, it was still logged as a planet, rather than just a simple orbital. Then again, it wasn't really that high on the Federation's priority list, what with Zebesian Pirate raids and other threats from unknown species, not to mention the occasional violent uprising.

And yet, civilian archeologists still seemed to take an interest in the planet. One such person, a Doctor Tholburn, seemed to be hiring on mercenaries to safe-guard her dig sites, apparently from nomadic locals on the planet. Z'Gato was one of those mercenaries.

At first, Z'Gato would have turned down the job in order to find something far more lucrative, but recent rumors had placed G79 as one of the Chozo's multiple military outposts, and Z'Gato believed that Doctor Tholburn may be the key to unlocking what was inside.

Z'Gato was still skeptical, however. A military base of that kind would not have been buried by a simple sand-storm. Some of the facts just didn't fit. Then again, rumors were known for their story holes and not for their true accuracy.

Z'Gato tightened his armored, avian fist, hearing the plates his Chozo Power Armor slide against themselves, a habit he had gotten into of late. He found himself more bored on his ship as the auto-pilot did most of the work, so he had resigned himself (as he did at almost any occasion) to working out inside his ship, which was littered with training equipment, designed to aid him in his ever-reaching goal of ultimate perfection.

The ultimate warrior.

Something still drew him to the ruins of his failed race, however. Deep in his heart, he betrayed everything he was. And yet, their architecture, their technology, their datum...still called to him.

'I can still hear the song of the Pheonix...' He often thought. He often wondered why.
Marching to the Black Gates...
