Z'Gato's gaze turned when one of their kind began laughing and shaking his head. "You worry too much, Chozo. The Admiral here is on the level, believe me, even though he's done some..." He glanced at Narssek for a moment. "...dumb things in the past." On The Level. Must have been one of those phrases that he wasn't familiar with...still, Z'Gato cast a glare at the Zebethian all the same. He would do what he pleased, especially around a potential threat, that was for certain, though the fact that he was now exposed was something of an annoyance. As some card players would say, his hand had been shown, if only by a little. Still, he would prefer to exercise caution. He wasn't easily fooled by this human's...premise. "Oh, Narssek, if the ship you've got is something built by the lowest bidder, I'll be taking my own ship. Besides, you'll need something with enough firepower to bail you out of the fire if you get attacked." Interesting. So this particular Zebethian was a loner as well, gathered together into a single room by the Admiral. Originally, Z'Gato had grouped this one among one of Narssek's crew, but this was apparently not the case. This one, he would watch. Though Z'Gato did not trust these Zebethians, the Admiral had an interesting proposal, one that Z'Gato had agreed to, he would do his part...but this one, he would watch... Lieutenant Yuur nodded at Admiral Narssek though he spoke no words. He had heard that some Zebethians were able to speak telepathically with each other...and perhaps this was the case? "Then, if everyone's ready," Narssek finally said after finishing his martini, "it would be high time to proceed. Compatriots, do as you wish, but tune your communications devices to these preset frequencies to maintain contact. Any who wishes not to accompany us will still have continued contact as needed. You will be informed of any further development. I'm sure that Madam Shorena will want to excuse herself from these kinds of dealings to provide a protective plausible deniability." Z'Gato accepted the frequencies, and tuned his personal radio-communicator to them. He would, however, had to manually input them into his ship, so that he could link up with the Admiral's ship later. However, the prospect of being on a ship with these...creatures...was certainly unsettling. However...the outcome justified the price, if this turned out how the Admiral thought it would. He took a deep breath, closing his eyes briefly, then opened them again, just as the Admiral walked over to the bar. He reached into a compartment built into the waste area just above the belt line over his right hip. The Admiral produced something and placed it on the bar, and by the way the barkeep looked, it was obviously valuable. "Now, remember," Z'Gato barely heard as he began to stand, "we aren't pirates." Z'gato chuckled quietly. A bribe, of course. THAT must have been the reason the authorities weren't called yet...but who was to say that weak excuse for an "agreement" would hold out? Grabbing his bags, Z'Gato walked towards the door of the bar, taking a quick look at the crowd before making his way back to the spaceport. Hopefully, the mechanics would have at least repaired his ship somewhat by now, at least enough to navigate to Narssek's ship. With the meeting over, the Chozo's thoughts, again, dwelled upon how he had obtained his battlefield name...Doomsfinger. A nightmare on the battlefield, simply because he knew how to fight other Chozo, knew their tactics, theirs strengths...their weaknesses. With a growl, however, he pushed the thought away, keeping his mind on where he was...what he was doing. Two points travel in whole, indeed. The angle presented and the angles added formed a square...for now, he mused. There was still the triangle impeding his way, however. The mutant, the mutt, and the devil. The Metroid, The Huntress, and Ridley. If they were to kill Ridley, Z'Gato, at least, would be the bladed line to slice the angle clean from view. He knew Ridley, and it was possible that Ridley knew Doomsfinger, for it was Ridley, that gave him that name... ((If anyone has a problem with this post, let me know. Sorry I haven't been around often, this deployment has been...yeah)) |
