I just _____ in the _____.

Squirt gently prodded Lorrilal and, without needing a single word between them, let go of Omega so that he could walk without her hindering him.

After a few minutes, the GI slowly began to lead them to the back of the group.

"Ahh! Did you see that?" Squirt hissed excitedly. "You're a natural. I swear to God he's like butter in your hands."

"A processed product of the mammary sustainance for offspring?"

Squirt shrugged "I suppose if you want to put it that way." She lowered her voice even further. "Here's where it gets interesting, while we're heading to our next destination, perhaps you can work on a present for him, something you made personally, something from the heart." She thought for awhile. "Trisha baked him cookies once, but that didn't end well."

"He didn't eat them?"

"No, he really did try, the problem was she had forgotten they were cooking and baked them for an extra fourty-five minutes past what was needed. She threw them away without telling him, he somehow managed to find them though. Anyway" she waved her hand "that's unimportant, thing is, you can't really bake him anything, since he has a special diet, and clothes aren't really his thing either. Hmmm, I'll be right back." She winked in and out so fast that anyone not expecting it wouldn't have realized it had happened. "Okay, I just went through my entire Ah! My Goddess! series and it gave me an idea. How about you write him a love poem? It'll be awsome!"

"I don't think I can. Perhaps just talking to him would be adeque-"

"Okay, I'll tell you what, I'll write it for you, and then you can read it to him, what do you say Lori? I'll let you have total credit."

"I suppose..."

"Okay, I'll get started. Hmm...what rhymes with Omega?"

Lorrilal gave a weak half smile as the GI sped up in both her muttering of words and the speed at which she walked. The Fae girl, however, found she still wasn't alone.

"Hello" she said to Jenosa. "My name is Lorrilal. My mother used to spend a lot of time in the back of the group, thinking about...things, just like you." She looked straight ahead, her face as deviod of emotion as possible. "Don't let them consume you, the thoughts. They can be far worse than any sickness out there. In your own mind, you can become a monster to yourself, loathsome, simply because you are trapped in the confines of what you think is supposed to be. What is, is far more flexable than most people realize. Things change, not for better, not for worse, but for change itself. Without change, there is atrophy. Everyone changes, no matter how much someone wants to stay the same. Accept change, accept what you have, or will, become, do not think you are a bad person for it."

Lorrilal grew quiet for a moment before she looked up at the bounty hunter. "Of course, I'm sure you were thinking of something else. Like our destination."

Ben watched as his two crewmembers began to whisper amongst each other and he narrowed his eyes in suspicion. Just what was going on under his nose? He had thought that Lorrilal's attachment to Omega was her way of mourning Trisha, but that couldn't be. She had lost both her sister and her mother on the same day and hadn't even so much as batted an eyelash at it.

Squirt's involvment only increased his worry. Anything involving the GI was always a recipie for disaster. It was her idea to buy the toaster, it was her idea to put a bunch of confetti in the ventalation system to make the ship more 'festive', it was her idea to invest in Travis Clark bobbleheads.

The virtual girl was a handful, and she was messing with Lorrilal's head. The last thing he needed were was a second-generation spaz on his hands. Even though Lori was as wide a range of emotions as a brick, Squirt would find a way.

He had to talk to her, which her? Both hers! Not to mention that Omega, he didn't want Jingles to get any ideas. Didn't matter what kind of ideas, he just wanted the 'troid and the plant girl to stay seperate. They were like a wolf and a sheep.

What scared Ben though, was that he didn't know which was which.

Ceiling Cat is watching you...
