I am your Almighty Leader. Fear Me.
This provides some background for the new world Adam and Zane and I are developing. Hope it works with you guys. And it wasn't originally all a set up for that last line, but you got to admit it is pretty amazing.

“AND THE SHIELDER IS: DERGO!” The announcement and the wild applause jolted me awake. I had a few classes with Dergo. He was incredibly good at controlling the magic flow. But then, the Shielder contest was first because they didn’t really do much except shield the Eyes and the Medic, and sometimes the Leader. The real shield was up next. They were called the Armor.
The top 10 of each area of expertise in the class went through a series of tests. The last one standing or the one with the best score represented the Academy in the massive tournament held between all of the school that taught Admins. Well, only Admins who were Admins in their past life. Not that we understood a lot of that. Our past life just paid for our education. It was kindof weird.
None of us had been outside of the Academy in our lives. For as long as we could remember we were taught here. We had no idea what the outside world held. This was the last year here, and for the last few months we would watch our team compete against others, whether there were 4 more teams or 1000. None of us knew. But we wanted to do well.
One of my friends, Elaphno, was competing to be the Armor for our team. He was a giant, even by Armor standards. At 6’ 5”, weighing around 300 pounds, he was massive. The Armor’s job was to absorb magical attacks and deflect physical attacks. Without an Armor, teams couldn’t do any face to face combat. The other team members just don’t have enough stamina.
I lazily watched as they protected a helpless robot that wandered aimlessly. There were more and more violent robots, hacking with swords and shooting bolts of fire, and they had to protect it, without getting in its way. The first 5 had fallen, and now it got complicated. They could either go into overdrive to block the energy shooting at them, or they could risk it and take some of them out.
I knew on instinct they had to go into overdrive. There were over 80 attacking robots now, and you can’t take out that many. 3 of them ran out to fight, and all 3 returned to find the robot they were guarding a smoking husk.
My friend and one other. The robots stopped, and the two waited while the robots were cleared away. Now all that was left was a test of endurance. The two sat down and waited. Suddenly, two heavily charged beams of energy flew at them. Enough to give most other people in the Academy a major wound, and put them in the hospital. They both sat and waited as more high-energy beams were added. After the 4th beam you could see the pressure on their faces. Both had their eyes firmly locked on the other. And finally, Elaphno fell to the ground.
There was a great cheer for the winner. But then of course, whoever was chosen as Leader actually got do decide who went. One of the first to have been eliminated could be chosen, but that was against the tradition.
Next was the Medic. I knew you needed a great medic, so I never understood why they came third. But then, it was also usually the longest test. They had one minute to heal a wound. Any extra time was added to there score. you started with a bruise, then worked your way through bigger bruises, then cuts, and ended with near dead people who were only saved by the best medics. If you failed to heal the wound in a minute, you stopped healing and were stuck with your score.
I fell asleep once again, and woke up, to my dismay, as they announced the winners. I didn’t know the Girl who won, but she had 2 points more than the second place, and 5 points more than the third. That must have been a really close contest. I was really angry with myself for missing it. But then of course, when my turn came, if I was in the top 10, I wouldn’t be sleeping.
Next up was the Communicator. The test was the fastest of them all. It took about 3 minutes at most. They had to learn everybody's name and then feed it in alphabetical order into a computer. Which meant they had to run through the audience asking or probe into peoples brains. But people were so good at blocking probes nobody tried that anymore.
Suddenly my brain was flooded by all 10 requests for my name. I gave each of them my name at the same time, but that's because my friend had taught me basic communications. Communicators had a mad dash to get to make friends with as many people as possible, because most had to go through and give their name to one person at a time. At 1min, 15.63sec the first checked in, then the next soon after. The slowest got around 2 minutes, which was still very good.
I took out my tablet and looked over the results from the last 3 tests, judging the different contestants and learning about their backgrounds, what they liked to do, etc. Many other kids in my class thought it was weird, but I liked to know about the contestants. And then suddenly it was time for the Eyes. This was another longish test. It lasted an hour, and they had to find the exact place of 10 objects throughout the school. The closer to the object they got, the more points.
The test began. Of all of the admins, I understood Eyes the least. They could see all of the data within the academy, but not throughout the shields around it. That wasn’t incredibly amazing, but they could make sense of it. They could see a random string of letters and say, oh, that's a proton. Which fewer people could do, but I could. But the scariest was they could see that that was a pink wall, the wallpaper made of 90% paper, 5% bleach, 5% red coloring. That was what I didn’t understand.
I read the bios of each and their scores and placed a few bets on who would get what place. I followed the scores of my favorites, hoping they would win. One hour later none of my picks won. I was slightly sad, but I was on good terms with the person who won, so I was cool with it. This next test was what many had been waiting for all day. The Pupils.
At the beginning we laughed at the Pupils, saying they didn’t have a title at all, they were still students. And then after one month they could kick our asses with their powers. So we shut up. Now they had amazing powers that surpassed many of my classmates. They were the sword of the team. The ten were as different as the seasons. There were those who used fire, ice, water, nature, lightning, and even one who used all of them.
As I read over their profiles I learned that I was one of the top 10 in my group and would compete. My heart skipped a beat, and I quietly contemplated my fate as rock, rain, acid and flame fought. And suddenly two teachers came and beckoned me. I got up and walked over to them, and they nodded for me to enter exit the auditorium. I walked in silence with them when suddenly a loud applause broke out. Obviously somebody had won. But I was too excited for that.
I walked out into my own control room and plugged myself into the virtual reality world in which I would compete. I was on the middle of a massive battlefield. I could see the men with a blue glow that surrounded me. There were all sorts of different sizes and specialties. Our objective was to get to and capture a bunker 3 miles away.
We would have to carve a bloody swathe through 3 miles of battlefield. But it had to be done.
An hour later we captured the bunker and got our next order. I had one hour to clear the surrounding area so that more teams could teleport in. I knew that actually attacking people wasn’t going to clear them, so I had to get creative. I looked at the area around be and realized that the only way the teams could get in was to distract everybody in the area.
So, all alone, I ran screaming and sent colored lights swirling around me, drawing away all of the fighting soldiers. I used my powers to pull them towards me and get their attention. And then I did something I never thought I was going to do. I switched my eyes to the data wavelength and deleted everything that wasn’t the ground, the bunker, or the team. I looked around and saw that it had worked, and the other teams were dropping in, as I felt myself get torn apart my the immense stress mass data deleting put on my body.
I woke up and found myself rising up towards the stage. As I rose up I looked to my left and right to see who had beaten me, and to my surprise, I was first. “THE WINNER IS TOM!” The stadium vibrated as thousands of hands clapped. And suddenly, it hit me. I was the Leader of the Academies team. I was going to lead us to the tournament. Faced with this unreal truth, I motioned for quiet and began my speech. “First, I would like to thank the Academy.....”

you are born an admin. And made a mod. But after a mod dies they become an admin in the next life. And if an admin dies they become an admin in the next life. But then, of course, there are admins being killed by chaos admin and mods all the time, and you can't recycle their souls.

yeah. Well, its got a special virus that turns the data into the corrupted data and then eats any other kind of data, even light. I'll write another one that talks about it in more detail.
