Im hooked on Naomi's stories! Because they're good to read when you have nothing else to live for. ![]() Just Across the Street Chapter Eight – Effect of the Efira Allat By Naomi Wang Quick Summary: Judith and Naomi notice something strange in the house across from Judith’s. They investigate on the internet and discover the creature is called an Efira Allat, which has been spotted before. They call in the SSRUC, Scientists Supporting Rescue of Unidentified Creatures, who come in and destroy the creature. But the creature possesses Naomi’s body and then attacks Judith. The two go searching for more victims, and enter a nearby park. They find Zane and Adam, former schoolmates of Judith and Naomi. Zane and Adam find out that Judith and Naomi have been taken over by the Efira Allat and soon learn there is no cure, and the only way out is to kill them. Zane and Adam try to reach the true Efira Allat controlling their friends but then Zane hits one too hard when he attacks Naomi. Adam didn’t speak. He was crouched over Naomi’s body. Finally, Zane walked over and sighed, “Here, let me carry her too then.” Zane said, shifting Judith’s body to one side. Adam looked up and screamed, “You idiot! You killed her!” Zane glanced down, “N-no, I didn’t.” His smile was completely wiped off his face. “Of course I couldn’t have killed her. Anyways, we agreed that it was kill or be killed. Why do you care?” Adam stood up and faced Zane, “Don’t turn this on me, you murderer.” Zane glared at Adam, “It’s not my fault. She attacked you. I saved you.” “If she dies what will we do?!” Adam yelled, “Huh? What will everyone think?!” Zane threw a punch at Adam. Adam dodged and tried to kick Zane in the shins. Zane quickly jumped as Adam got up and grabbed his leg. Zane tried to kick with his other leg. Adam avoided it but let go of Zane’s leg. “Get a hold of yourself, she isn’t dead!” Zane said back quickly, smacking Adam across the face with his awesome ninja kick. Adam stood stunned, “She isn’t?” Zane looked at the limp body, “She’s breathing. Its irregular, but we need to get to that stupid Efira Allat as soon as possible. That means you carry Naomi and I carry Judith.” “You are one weird guy.” Adam muttered, tossing Naomi’s body over his shoulder as Zane did to Judith, “You’re going on this weird Naruto rampage. First you’re acting like Sasuke, then you’re acting like…some weird know it all – like Sakura!” Adam pointed at Zane as they headed toward Judith’s house, “Sakura-Chan!” “Shut up, Adam, we’re in the middle of saving Naomi and Judith here.” Zane grumbled, “At least I don’t look like Sakura.” Zane mumbled as they reached Judith’s doorstep. “If I were the Efira Allat where would I be?” Adam asked quietly, glancing around the neighborhood. “H-hey, Adam, look at that.” Zane slowly raised a hand as a dark shadow appeared by the window outside the house across from Judith’s. A pair of bright green eyes – like the ones that Zane and Adam saw in Judith and Naomi – glared back at them. Adam shivered, getting in a fighting stance. “Bring it on, you ugly freak.” Adam whispered quietly, placing Naomi near the door of Judith’s house. “Don’t try and make it mad, Adam. It can’t even hear you.” Zane said, following Adam’s lead, dropping Judith down on the front door step. “W-wait a minute, it’s not looking at us, Zane…” Adam said in a warning voice. “It’s looking behind –” “Duck!” Zane yelped, crouching near the ground as the semi-conscious Naomi and Judith attack the two boys with powerful yet slow swings. “Did it just smile at us?!” Adam asked, knocking over the girls and standing up, glaring at the Efira Allat from its watching point at the window. “Oh em gee, it’s trying to hit on me because I’m just so –” “Shut it and duck!” Zane growled at Adam, grabbing Adam’s legs and giving them a sharp tug as Naomi tried to once again attack, yet at a very slow speed. “We are going up there. They’re totally messing with Naomi and Judith!” Adam yelled, charging at the door to the house across from Judith’s. “Here we go, Monster!” Adam screamed, sprinting up the stairs, taking two at a time. He opened the door and stood there, in the room that was facing out towards the street. The room was dark and Adam struggled to see what was beyond his own nose. Suddenly, he heard Zane climbing the stairs behind him. Then Adam felt a warm breath on his neck and near his face, he was able to make out a pair of grinning teeth in front of him. But they weren’t human sized teeth, no; they were enormous fang-like teeth that just glowed in the dark. Adam was soon able to see the faint glow of the Efira Allat eyes, wide and alert. Adam stood for a while, the creatures breathing on him and he heard Zane ask, “Adam, where are you?” Zane felt around the wall, having no idea that slimy hands were covering Adam’s mouth so he couldn’t respond. Soon Zane flipped on the light switch, and gasped, walking back into the wall. There stood two Efira Allat. They were so ugly and disgusting Zane had to swallow the acid he felt coming back up his throat. The Efira Allat was light brown, their skin as wrinkly as old people. Their eyes stood out of their paper bag skin and were oddly blood shot. Their heads were huge, and their body seemed unfit to hold up such a heavy head. Their necks were scrawny, bent, and thin, like a straw. They each had two mouths, one on their foreheads and one directly below their eyes. The effect of the Efira Allat is that once upon seeing it, you are either possessed or you are to get immediately sick from the Efira Allat appearance. That’s what happened to Zane and Adam. Adam started to feel his stomach churning and shoved the Efira Allat hand away so he could barf out in the corner of the room, holding his stomach, groaning. The pain was unbearable and it made it hard to stand. Zane did the same in his corner of the room, near the light switch. But instead of his stomach hurting, he was getting terrible headaches that made it hard to see. The creatures watched the humans as they hurled some more before finally laying on the ground, trying to move but tired and defeated. The Efira Allat looked at each other, communicating with their eyes, 'the small one…yes; he is mine…' One Efira Allat told the other. 'You may have the other. I wish to have the small one.' 'Very well, comrade.' The other one answered, the Efira Allat turned to the two semi-conscious boys lying on the ground, moaning and groaning. The two creatures grinned at the defenseless humans, one mutual thought running through all the heads in the room: 'This is where it ends.' I just realized the italics didnt move onto here. Dam it!!! Gawd. And now the leader of the Efira Allat: MICHEAL JACKSON! watch it happen. I'd hate to be an EA. [Ea sports?] cause then no one would ever look at you. heh. |
