And here come our average heros: Zantrax and Adam. I know. so average. haha. Just Across the Street Chapter Four – Lost and Found By Naomi Wang Quick Summary: Judith and Naomi notice something strange in the house across from Judith’s. They investigate on the internet and discover the creature is called an Efira Allat, which has been spotted before. They call in the SSRUC, Scientists Supporting Rescue of Unidentified Creatures, who come in and destroy the creature. But the creature possesses Naomi’s body, looking for a victim; and it’s first is Judith. Judith sighed; 'Naomi can be so stupid and annoying sometimes; using the Efira Allat as an excuse to scare me. Yea right, I’m not going to fall for that.' Judith glanced as Naomi opened her mouth, her arm still covering her eyes. Naomi let out small sound, Judith frowned, “Alright, jokes over, Naomi. It’s not funny. Look the Efira Allat is gone; defeated. We can go on with life now. So stop worrying about it-”Judith gasped as Naomi sat up and glared at her. “Naomi, you–”Judith stared back at Naomi. But it wasn’t Naomi. It was like someone had taken over Naomi’s body. The girl who sat on her bed wasn’t Naomi, Judith decided. Judith didn’t know who she was, but this was way too real and freaky for her. Judith knew those eyes, those eyes that she had seen from across the street. Judith stared at those blank, green eyes. They weren’t the natural green; they glowed and showed the intent to kill. Judith tried to back away from the person on her bed – the Efira Allat, but she was in her desk chair and all she did was back into the desk. The Efira Allat smirked and stood up. All Judith could do was say loudly, in a pleading voice, “No, wait, no–” - - - Adam sighed, “Zane, this is stupid.” Adam commented as Zane walked around the park’s grassy terrain as he searched for the lost baseball Adam had thrown. “You’re stupid, Adam.” Zane said, tossing a chunk of dirt at his friend before adding, “Help me find the ball, you’re the one who threw it.” “Is it my fault that you couldn’t catch that wonderful throw?” Adam asked, not moving from his place on the swings. “Zane, it wasn’t because of your lack of hand-eye coordination, was it?” Adam asked, smirking slightly as Zane searched around for a rock to throw at his annoying friend, “It was my sexiness. You were too busy staring at me to actually notice that awesome throw.” “Adam, just shut your mouth and help me find the ball.” Zane said, picking up a pebbled and tossing it at Adam, “Hurry, Adam, I want to be home in time so we can make it to the movie.” “Relax, the movie starts at five…what time is it now?” Adam asked, walking over and pretending to search for the ball. “Four thirty.” Zane answered, frowning as Adam was looking at his reflection in a broken beer bottle, “Oh god, Adam, please, just help me find the ball! I don’t want to miss the movie!” “Zane, a word of advice,” Adam said, picking up a fallen tree branch and poking through a clump of grass, “Take a chill pill.” Zane sighed, “Adam, let’s just focus on find the ball, deal?” Adam rolled his eyes, “Sure, Zane.” “Hey, isn’t that Naomi and Judith over there?” Zane asked as Adam climbed a tree to get a better look. “Huh, that’s weird, I always knew Judith lived near here but I wonder what they’re doing here!” “Yea, Judith doesn’t seem like the type to go outside a lot, does she?” Adam laughed as he climbed higher up the tree. “Let’s call them over. Naomi! Judith! Hey, you –”Zane stopped waving his hand, “What are they…?” “Did they just freaking eat that squirrel?!” Adam practically screamed, jumping up and down on the branch, causing leaves to fall into Zane’s hair. “Hey look, they’re coming over here!” Zane said, “What’s with their eyes…?” “Zane, get up here, now.” Adam said quickly, reaching down a hand to help Zane up. “I don’t know, but I’ve got a feeling that isn’t the Judith and Naomi we know.” Adam said as Zane got onto the lowest branch. “Hey, Zane hurry up, they’re getting closer!” Adam said, climbing up another three branches. “Hey, Adam, wait up –”Zane said, trying to climb onto the second branch. Then he felt a painful tug at his leg. Zane felt tight claws grip into his legs. Zane bit his lip as the pain spread through his leg. Zane glanced down as he heard Adam scream, “ZANE! LOOK OUT!” And the plot thickens....except not really. |
