Is there a particular reason why HEX codes do not work in signatures (or on the forum itself)?

I've used them on other ZetaBoards forums and on InvisionFree and they have functioned nicely, so I have to wonder if there's a setting in the ACP that's restricting it....

*Cries* I had to make the text in my signature this horrid shade of purple. I want my 6E48CF back, if possible...

Is this a pwetty shade of purple? Sadly, no...

Code:

[color=6E48CF]Is this a pwetty shade of purple? Sadly, no...[/color]

EDIT: Now, this is quite odd... When I actually post, my desired color is merely a shade of black, but when I preview this post, it appears as my favorite shade of purple... Odd... is it just my computer?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And looking at the "codes" box, there is something odd with the CSS for it.... or is it just me? It is partially a gradiant and partially a solid color... And I might suggest that the color for when you hover over a link is altered slightly because it is the same shade as the forum's background, making it impossible to see. And the font color for an edited post is quite a light shade for my eyes to discern against the forum's background...
Thanks for bringing that to may attention.....That is truly weird. I never noticed any of it.
There is something weird with the Hex problems, but I can't figure out what...
Your problem is this: this board runs BBC (thank goodness to me...) meaning
Code:
[color=purple]Is a pretty shade of purple no?[/color]
Is a pretty shade of purple no? BBC's really easy once you learn the target words... Most are the same on all BBC sites, but some have their different, or unique to that site codes...
