Nicked from the official BoD, thanks Quel. Sections: * General Rules/Penalties * FS Stat Restrictions * FS Ranking System * Permanent Death Rules * Raid Rules * Ubering/Text RP/Meta Rules * Default Map Restrictions/Ownerships/Territory Ownerships * Miscellaneous/Add-On Rules Section 1: General Rules/Penalties Article 1: Chat Rules * Do not spam, if you spam useless garbage (more than 3 lines of BS over 10 seconds) punishment will be dealt. * Use of racial slurs are prohibited, do not insult ones race, culture or religion. * The use of the OOC channel is mandatory for updates and instructions for IC events will be given. To get into the Out Of Character channel you must first access the console. You can do this by pressing the ` and shift keys at the same time. The ` key is the key to the left of the 1 key, above the letter keys on your keyboard. * Once you have done this type these two commands separately (not both on the same line) into the console - /say_team_mod clan and then /clanpass ooc * Then use 'T'eam Chat. Usually your team chat key would be 'T', if not, look in the control menu to find out which key it is. * If you have been slept, pay attention to the admin who is speaking to you. * If you have been slept, and claim you have been doing or have done nothing wrong try to check if anyone else is slept, as the admin might have slept everyone not just you. Do not over react, spamming OOC and acting like a child 'why have you slept me? I haven't done anything wrong', if so, be patient. Don't ask 'wake me plz', the Admin will wake you when he chooses to do so. It usually annoys the admin if you keep saying you have done nothing wrong and you want to be woken up, be silent and wait. Usually if you have been slept, the admin will teleport to you and speak to you directly. * If you have been slept, slept & silenced, or just silenced don't name chat, admins can kick you for that or punish you. Wait and listen. Do not reconnect to avoid punishment, that is a bannable offence. Do not reconnect to get out of silencing or being slept, even if you've done nothing wrong or want to wake up, especially if others have been slept as well. You will be punished. * To gain all weaponry, so you can properly Rp your character with his allowed weapons ask politely in OOC for an admin to merc you, he will understand. Do not spam OOC asking for it, if someone does not merc you or reply. Wait and then ask again. You do not need merc to roleplay though, as you can find most weaponry on the map you are playing. * Admins do not have to be your lapdops and respond to your every whim and command. They do not have to teleport you to your friends, and merc you for messing around. If they do so, that is their choice. Remember that. Article 2: Laming/FFA Rules * Laming. Most JKA players know what this means, if some people don't, instruct them before they 'lame' another player. Laming is basically killing or attacking someone who is roleplaying, without the required 'roleplay of attack'. Just because someone might not have a proper name, it does not invite you to kill them. This includes people who are AFK, or just joined the server and are oddly standing sill, obviously AFK. Do not do it. * FFAing. You want to free for all? Go on a FFA server. If you are waiting for a map change, and other people are roleplaying and you want to want FFA, find a room or somewhere out of the way to mess around with your buddies. Do not mess around in the area or sight where people are roleplaying. FFA isn't bad, sometimes, but know when to stop and know when to keep it out of the way of roleplayers. Article 3: Naming/Role Rules * You may not use any surname from any Star Wars movie, show, comic or book. Basically no surnames in Star Wars canon. * There is no limit on how many characters you have. All that is required is that you roleplay them. Try not to be Force Sensitive all the time, variety on the server is helpful for roleplay. * High level roles must be approved by that faction’s leader or a server administrator. * When joining the military you begin as a Private or Recruit with set weaponry. Ranks higher than these require approval, unless a character has received a proper promotion. * When starting as a FS you start at the bottom, unless you have approval. You do not have a Sith Lord or Jedi Knight just because you say your character is one. * Currently there is no limit as to how many force sensitive characters you can have, but we strongly recommend you don't have more than three or four. * Finally for all approvals it is advised that you interact with the people on the server - OOC & IC - and spend time on the forums and server, making yourself one of us. Attitude, roleplay ability, the approval itself & characters will all be used in deciding whether any approvals will be passed or not. If it is a character you want approved, if it is possible to roleplay this character before asking for approval, do so. * Here is an example of some roles that do not require approval: Bounty Hunter, Mercenary, Smuggler, Bartender, Wanderer, Civilian, Craftsman, Swoop Dealer, Racer, Swordsman. However hunters, mercenaries, smugglers, sword users and freelancers have stats provided for them (below with a link), look at those before roleplaying one of these roles. * When choosing a military class or freelancer class you start at level one, by default, unless you have got approval for a higher level. You gain the other levels and ranks through roleplay, you do not begin at level 3 just because you say your character is a highly skilled marksman. Article 4: Allowed Weapons * Each freelancer/military class has weapons you can and cannot use. Stick to them people, unless you have got different approved. Section 2: FS Stat Restrictions Force user and Mercenary stats Section 4: Permanent Death Rules Article 1: General Permanent Death Condition o First and foremost, duel deaths and battle (out of duel deaths) are completely SEPARATE. o 3 deaths in a map session allows for the dealer of your third death the option of permanently killing your character, other options include: being captured, important body parts being severed, etc…) o Team kills do count. o Chat kills do not count. o Lag kills do not count, depending on evidence provided. The attacker can decide whether to count or not count the kill. o Going spectator to avoid a permanent death will automatically disable that character rendering you unable to use that character again. To properly escape you must not be under attack and must be at the edge of a map (clear skybox no walls), or a star port/landing pad. However use some sense, if your attacker(s) are next to you even though you just used speed to the hangar, you can't escape just by typing *Escapes* because your attempt would be halted, and you would probably die if you tried to get into a ship. o Escaping must be done in three steps: 1. Enter your ship – 2. Take off – 3. Enter spectator mode. o In an honorable permanent death duel session, once you agree to the first in character duel you are bound in agreement to put your character at risk. Once the first duel concludes you must continue until someone loses 3 duels, at which time the loser of the 3 can be permanently killed at the victor’s discretion. o If you bail or refuse to duel after the first duel concludes your character will become disabled and will not be able to be used again upon review. o To dispute a permanent death please make a thread on the forum WITH screenshots to plead your case then send a PM to any admin with the link to the thread for judgment and it will be reviewed by all admins. If screenshots are not present your dispute will not have a high chance of having your death voided. Evidence is key, remember that. o Permanent deaths and attacks in character may only be done by in character motives. For example, you may NOT attack another player in an attempt to lame them or permanently kill them if they annoyed you out-of-character, called you a name out-of-character or any other reason. Permanent Deaths will be voided quickly if they are dealt for a reason outside of a feasible storyline. Section 5: Raid Rules Article 1: General Raid Rules + Raids are planned battles by the server owner and/or administrators for the purpose of overtaking territory, large-scale rescue mission or an attempt to capture or kill a leader of an important faction. + The typical raid rule as far as deaths go is that you may run/attempt an escape from battle any time before 6 deaths, meaning after you get 5 if you decide to keep fighting your character is at risk for death. + At your 6th death, whoever deals your 6th death may perma your character, but if they kill you and continue battle and the kill is not roleplayed with text within 10 minutes your character can be rescued, however not by an OOC arrangement. + Generic characters may be used for raids but they follow a 3 kill death rule, generic characters will be dead from battle after 3 deaths, they do not have an escape option. Generics use lower stats, or ones set by the admin present. + Generic characters may be killed in one dealt death by darths or jedi council. + Team kills do NOT contribute to your battle death total. + Lag kills do count, depending on evidence. The attacker can decide whether to count or not count the kill. + Chat kills DO count towards your death total. Section 6: Ubering/Text RP/Meta-Gaming Rules Article 1: Ubering rules + Any ability outside of the default powers in JKA must be approved by an administrator, Knight or Council + Players may not be ubered into joining the opposing faction, ex. Sith marks, sith beast etc…. They can be tempted and twisted with text but ultimately it is their decision. However the sith in this matter may formally attack if their offer is refused. + Grip-kick is banned. + Pull-kick is banned, tough it is allowed once per two minutes. + Pull spamming is banned. Using it 2-3 times in a row is considered spam. + Pulling and using saber throw is the same as above. Do not do this. Take proper gaps and try to avoid doing it entirely. + Pull-stab is banned. + The force speed attack (Lunge) is banned. + The SPRPGWorld sabers adapted dfa moves are banned. + Rage + Healspam is banned, due to the fact that it makes you immortal for a short period. Article 2: Text RP rules + Text fighting may be used to deal KO’s or deaths but the actual deaths must be dealt in game via gun, lightsaber or force power. + Force powers, extensive healing, rituals, turning, force strips can be performed with text with the aid of force effects if approved by an admin (usually only high JC can do turns and strips, but It’s not unusual for a JK to convince a sith to come light or vice versa.) Article 3: Meta-Gaming rules + If two characters are conversion, lets say for instance in the bar on tatooine_sjc and you are in the military base across the map. Although you can physically read what they are saying you CANNOT hear or use that information in character for any reason. The only way you can hear or acknowledge any in character conversation is if you are in the same area as those conversing. + Even though you can clearly see the name, rank, title, etc. of every player on the server you do NOT know this information in character. Discovery of this must be done in character through roleplaying and cannot just be assumed. High level characters often use the force to bypass roleplaying it, such as Muddah-HAHA, DISREGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS + Any out of character or physical information outside of those listed above may not be used by in character to gain an edge or information on a character. + If a series of players are roleplaying locking a door to have a private discussion, you may not simply just enter the room even if you are OOC (which you shouldn’t be anyway). The lock may be broken or destroyed IF one of the characters has known ability to do so. + If you are in enemy territory not on a planned raid you don’t simply walk into your enemy’s base and jump/walk around aimlessly. If you are caught running around in enemy territory outside of a raid alone you will be captured. Entering Major Faction Territories "Upon entering enemy territory, you'll automaticly get knocked out if you cannot fit in under the written conditions. Unless it is a part of a roleplay plot, agreed upon by majority, this may not contain something like perming some special person or capturing, or attacking or any kind if not agreed upon by that sole person. If admin is on serverside, ask him before activating this roleplay plot." Jedi Order Jedi Brutes/ Sith Order Sith Marauders * Sith Lord/Jedi Councillor/Empowered, equals two Jedi Brutes/Sith Marauders. * Sith/Jedi Master, equals one Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. * Master Bounty Hunter/3rd Highest Rank Within Army, equals one Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. * Two Sith/Jedi Knight, equals one Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. * Four Sith/Jedi Apprentices, equals one Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. * Four Bounty Hunters/Soldier, equals one Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. * Eight Sith/Jedi Initiates, equals One Jedi Brute/Sith Marauders. Sith Army Guards/Imperium Guards/Republic Liberation Guards * Sith Lord/Jedi Councillor/Empowered, equals fiftheen Guards. * Sith/Jedi Master, equals five Guards. * Master Bounty Hunter/3rd Highest Rank Within Army, equals five Guards. * Sith/Jedi Knight, equals three Guards. * Sith/Jedi Apprentices, equals one Guard. * Bounty Hunters/Soldier, equals one Guard. * Three Sith/Jedi Initiates, equals one Guard. Grapple * Grapple is reserved for characters who have earned it. * Horizontally grappling is absolutely banned. You may only grapple vertically or in a diagonal direction. * If your freelancer/military class or the level you are on does not have this, you do not have it, unless you have got it approved. Alternate Fire/Charge (Alt) * All Charge Devices on weapons, are reserved for characters who have earned it. * All Alternate Fire Devices on weapons, are reserved for characters who have earned it. * If your freelancer/military class or the level you are on does not have this, you do not have it, unless you have got it approved. Sniping * Sniping. People don't go to stupid places, such as a tall building on Pyramid which is totally unaccessable. Use some sense, and go somewhere sensible which isn't so stupidly high. It is prefered that you go to an area where people with jump 3 can go. General Combat * The speed attack, where you use speed, do the jump-lunge thing, then attack, is banned. * You MUST RP an attack before attacking someone. * In order to flee, you must be well-away from your attacker and be at a legit leaving zone. This can be the edge of the map, a hangar, etc. When fleeing, you're considered to have fled as SOON as you start typing, not when the message is complete. It's not fair for slow typers to get shitted out of fleeing. * When you are killed in combat, you must return to the spot you died at. RP is considered frozen until you return. * When in combat, you are not allowed to switch characters after a character you have played recently in said combat, withdrew from the battle. * When in combat, it is illegal to grab medpacks or shield boosters. If this is done accidentaly, it's fine. If it is done pre-planned, one death is inflicted. Raid Rules * Your character has 6 deaths during raids. At five, you may run. At six, your killer has the choice of perming or capturing you. * If you are killed in combat, you do NOT have to return to death spot. * Med-pack/Shield rules still apply here.
