Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Arturus tu Britannia

Above the Pacific Ocean tearing through the skies at a... quite leisurely pace actually was the heavily armed and armoured airship the Albatross. Bristling as it was with turrets and ordnance it was no surprise, even less considering its hold was full to bursting with Knightmares. The Britannian Parliament, not content with how ineffectual they'd been up until that point, had stolen Gino away from team building to get him to do... something else, they weren't specific about that either. From one standpoint Gino could understand why a comparatively fledgling governmental body would want to operate from a position of plausible deniability and smug superiority if something were to go wrong; he understood it, but was no less infuriated by it. So he'd requisitioned some troops (the Knight of Three title had helped get that going even if he didn't get the fringe benefits any more) and dropped a line to Pengulai Island for some backup before setting his plan in motion. The Albatross reputedly carried none other than Empress Nunally vi Britannia on a diplomatic mission to the United States of Japan. Her embarkation had been broadcast 'live' worldwide from the tape Gino had craftily prepared weeks earlier and he was supposedly the only escort. If that didn't at least lure a few of the BRL into his little mousetrap then....... well, he'd have to build a better one he supposed.

Of course if the BRL didn't turn up he wasn't going to enjoy rationalising his intensely expensive Japanese pleasure cruise to the Britannian Parliament, though they still technically couldn't impeach him what with being the Knight of Three and all, trying to fight a war without them signing off on his troop requests would mean amongst other things a growing degree of unfairness and a lot more heavy lifting. This was the thing that most annoyed Gino about living under the new regime, while he had to concede that any democracy (even a parliamentary one which basically left the same people in charge, but meant they had to reapply for their job ever year or so) was much better for the man on the street, it meant that politics as they knew it had essentially devolved into a series of reactionary disconnected statements as opposed to coherent and dedicated policy. Cabinet meetings (which he was more often than not forced to attend by virtue of being the only Knight of the Round who still did any work) were not so much debates as they were schoolboy mud-slinging matches as disjointed as they were irrelevant to the topic at hand... and he'd joined the military to get away from that aristocratic crap.

So reluctantly Gino had pitched his plan which was that the BRL would commit to a frontal assault to either cripple or destroy the carrier and Gino's men would engage them and any attempts to escape would be quashed by the Black Knights coming from behind... that was the theory anyway. Gino had come to expect more complex tactics from the BRL than “go get 'em” and that was why he was there, to identify threats to the prescribed plan and grind them into a fine powder to take in his afternoon tea.

With the Tristan Defender listing lazily over the top of the Albatross Gino was sorely tempted to start doing loop the loops around it in order to garner some excitement from his trip as he became increasingly convinced that he hadn't supplied just the right massive wad of cheese for his particular mouse. That was before the edge of his IFF indicator exploded in red and he stopped cruising, only barely avoiding a loop the loop from sheer joy that his plan had apparently worked. Quickly shifting the Defender out of Fortress Mode he stopped dead and got straight on the radio. 'Alright, here they come. Albatross adopt your holding pattern and await further orders. Legato, Buchanan, deploy and fall in behind me. The rest of you hold formation around the carrier, don't let a single one through.'

Reid breathed a deep sigh and replied "Read you loud and clear sir. Deploying now!" With that he flew down from the higher altitude he had been cruising at and fell into formation behind his leader. Checking the Gareth's readings, Reid noted that everything was in order. Looking to the corner of his screen, Reid gazed at the black knight's crest that he kept with him. He thought to himself I'll avenge you. I swear it Sena! There was also another matter he needed to attend to. Reid was determined that no harm would befall Becca, even if he had to fight the entire attacking fleet by himself. He was convinced that the least combat she saw, the better. Returning to the matter at hand, Reid opened up his com-channel to Becca and Gino. After that was done he sat back and waited for more orders, there was no need to get all riled up before the enemy arrived.

Becca Buchanan had just moments ago boarded her brad new Knightmare Frame. It seems that the engineers here in the hangar were having a bit of trouble tweaking all of her weapons and whatnot. Becca could only sit back patiently and watch during the mess and was even delayed deployment because of the engineers' mistakes. Surely they had prepped Gareths before, Reid's Gareth was being prepared moments before hers. When she asked what the problem was, she was simply told that her unit was being taken care of gently due to how new it was. Nonetheless, the job got done and Becca was able to now sit in the cockpit of the Gareth. She had received proper training and hadn't one bit doubted her abilities on the battlefield. However, she did have a lingering feeling of nervousness which was probably standard considering this would be her first real battle. The only training she had was in simulations, so she figured she would have to raise her guard even higher now that she would be dealing with real BRL pilots.

Booting up her controls, Becca's fingers tapped quickly against the buttons. She didn't have much time, so she was trying to hasten her own preparations. The sooner she could get into battle the better it would be for her team. A few engineers below gave her a thumbs up, signalling that it was alright to launch. With that, Becca booted up her energy wing system and soared on out of the ship. What awaited her was nothing but vast blue waters, not a strip of land in sight. She found herself staring at the scenery for a moment rather than trying to contact her commander.

Wow....so this is how the Pacific Ocean looks from a Knightmare?”, she murmured.

Seeing a button glow a quick flash of red, Becca hastily pressed it and fumbled with her mic. It was the indication that a com-link had been opened and that someone was attempting to contact her. As she expected, it was Commander Gino, the one who crafted this genius BRL trap. Apparently, a few BRL pilots had shown up to join the party already. Becca couldn't help but giggle at how anxious they were before slipping into formation beside Reid's Gareth. Glancing over at him briefly, she remembered the two have had brief contact for a little while. It was all Reid's fault for getting on Becca's bad side and now she was practically ignoring his presence in anger. However, she would have to momentarily squash all of these personal emotions if they were to function as a team.

This is Buchanan sir, I'm deployed and ready.”, replied Becca over her mic.

The BRL slowly edged closer in the distance, causing Becca to gulp a bit. She was sure that after she shot down her first one that everything would go smoothly. Still something was causing her doubt to resurface once again. The best she could do was ignore the puzzling feeling and focus on the job at hand. She tapped on her controls once again and had brought up her radar, which was beginning to fill with red dots. Just how many enemy units were heading this way?

Forever Falling

OoC: *appears from stealth cloak* Kept you waiting, huh?

With a pair of binoculars over her eyelids, Wendy Alexis Stalingrad quietly survived the massive, Britannian-made battleship gradually making its way toward the coast of Japan. She smacked her lips some, noting that the craft was just as heavily guarded as her mission briefing had implied. Counting the Gareth's by darting her eyes around, she whistled some and determined that there were enough to start a small scale war.

So, that's the Albatross, is it? Man, that things is huge. And if that leaked information about the Empress, Nunnally vi Britannian, being on that ship is correct, I suppose that it would be stupid of us to pass up on this opportunity.

By 'us', Wendy meant the Britannian Restoration League and by 'opportunity', she figured there was no way her superiors were going to pass up on the chance of capture 'the freakin' Empress of Britannian' when she ripe for the picking. Of course, even Wendy knew this was a trap set up by either Britannia or the Black Knights, probably both working together. Besides the supposed claim, there was no real proof that Nunnally was even on that vessel. Hell, she could have been relaxing in Britannian, while Wendy's bosses were wasting their time mobilizing a battalion of Gloucester DX's to combat the Britannians. However, if they waited to find out of she really was the Albatross, then there was a chance that she would would slip through their fingertips, while they wasted precious time gathering more information. It was basically a 'do or die' situation here and as such, her superiors had signaled the green light on this operation. Wendy lowered the binoculars from her vision and figured her people would attack soon enough. There were no sign of the Black Knights anywhere in sight, though Wendy had to assume they were waiting in the shadows to cut off any escape routes from the BRL. Maybe they wanted to crush their organization right here and now with this little bait. Her people had considered all this well ahead of time though and had a plan to counter such an attack if need be.

Glancing back at her Lia Fáil carefully hidden on the small island she and a few other soldiers were waiting on, she nodded and recalled what her superiors had told her exactly. She was the Britannian Restoration League's trump card at the moment, or more specifically, she and her Knightmare. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that neither the United States of Japan or the Black Knights were aware of the Lia Fáil's existence and it was certain to catch their troops off guard in battle. It's performance capabilities should have far exceeded any of the enemies Knightmare's as well. She looked back up at the Albatross and smiled, noting that wasn't exactly correct. Supposedly, the Knight of Three himself, Gino Weinberg, was also aboard the vessel right now. She had heard many stories about this individual and his incredible skills in battle, he being a valiant Knight for Britannian. However, she also knew that at one time, he had betrayed his country by joining the Black Knights for a time. Not only that, but he had choose to have nothing to do with the BRL, instead considering them his enemy. She didn't understand how he claimed to be a 'Knight' of Britannia with such a bizarre mentality. Wendy merely hoped she would get the chance to ask him first hand. More specifically, in battle.

She glanced down at her watch and saw there was still some time before the operation would commence. The troops camping out on the island behind her were casually chatting amongst themselves, almost appearing to not be concerned about the importance of this assignment. Rolling her eyes at them, she figured they were the problem with the BRL today and the reason that no one ever took their activities seriously. Those soldiers should have been more focused, ready to lay their lives on the line for their country. They seemed to catch on to her irate stare and quickly straightened up some, now prepping their Knightmares and gathering themselves up for battle. These men would be on the front lines, after all, so they should have been acting like it. There would be no telling if any of them would be able to go home today. Wendy soon found herself chuckling at what she was saying. She was only a Major in the BRL's ranks, yet she sounded like a battle hardened General that was more than three times her age. She had been fussing at men much older than her and they had simply taken it with a salute and a stern, "Yes, sir!"

Gloucster DX's were now hovering above her, with less than five minutes until they would attack the Albatross. If these units for some reason failed, they also had a smaller detachment of DX's mixed in with some Lancelot Spade's. All they really had to do was get at least a small detachment onto the Albatross, where they could fight their way through the vessel and secure the Empress. If they could at the very least get Nunnally, all the cards would be in their favor. Gulping some and wiping some sweat off her forehead, Wendy recalled that she had been assigned to leader of this very task force. It would be her job to lead the soldiers under her safely into enemy territory and back. Needless to say, she was a little nervous. She honestly wasn't fond of the Lia Fáil being a long ranged type Knightmare. She more preferred to get 'down and dirty' while taking someone on in battle and with a unit like this, she would be hard pressed to do so. Even so, she figured E.E. must have given it to her for some reason and she wasn't about to go back on that trust he had placed in her. Perhaps she would be able to make it work after all.

Her hands trembling, she dropped the binoculars in her hand and cursed some under her breath.

"D-Dammit! Get ahold of yourself, Wendy. I-It'll be okay! That's right! If I have the Lia Fáil, I should be able to.."

"Who...who are you talking to?"

The sound of an unfamiliar voice in her ear caused her to jump some. She clutched the left side of her chest, feeling as if her heart was about to burst out of it, and saw that there was a young, Britannian boy talking to her right now. He was a short fellow, with curly, brown hair and a rather unintimidating frame. Dressed in a pilot's suit, he was clumsily handling a machine gun. Wendy felt as though he would kill somebody with his sloppy stance at this rate and quickly adjusted his posture, causing him to gulp some. Surely, he wasn't one of the BRL's pilot's was he? He had to have been, considering he was wearing their uniform and she could even see his Private's badge fasted to the side of his neck.

"And what do you think you're doing? Didn't anyone ever teach you how to hold a gun?!"

The boy froze some at Wendy's harsh tone. "Y-Yes...b-but...I-I..."

"God! It looks like they even forgot to teach you how to speak properly! Straighten up, soldier! We don't have time for your lollygagging! Don't you know who we're trying to capture here?! And why aren't you in your Knightmare yet?! Judging by that outfit your in, I take it you're a pilot! Well?! Am I right?!"

The young Britannian boy was unable to form a complete sentence because of Wendy sound more like his mother than his superior officer. She sighed at this and couldn't help but wonder where the BRL found such a sorry soul. Her attention shifted to the sound of Knightmare's taking off and the Gloucester DX's that were once waiting on the island had now departed. Wendy scoured down at her watch and couldn't believe that this kid had wasted her time like this. She was supposed to be launching in her Lia Fáil as well, since the operation had now begun. A vein appeared on her forehead, as she tried to contain her bubbling rage.

"D-Dammit! Like hell I'm getting chewed out by our bosses over you! Just hurry up and start up your Gloucester, you...you..." Scanning for a name tag on the kid, Wendy saw none, making her slightly more irate. "What's your name, soldier?"

The boy almost dropped his machine gun, as he saluted in a nervous wreck. "P-P-Private...Wellington, sir! I mean...! M-Ma'am! M-My name is Henry Philip Wellington!"

"Henry, huh? Alright, soldier! Hurry to your Knightmare! The operation's already begun and we'll be late to the party at this rate!"

This 'Henry' didn't even look older than sixteen in Wendy's opinion. What was a kid like this even doing in the Britannian Restoration League? Shaking her head, that didn't matter now and she prepared to sprint toward her Knightmare on the double. However, she ceased once she took heed of the fact that Henry, instead of climbing inside his Gloucester, was fidgigint around and glancing all about, as if searching for something. Wendy placed her head down for a moment and walked over to him once more.

"Now what is it?! Hurry to your..."

"U-Um...ma'am? I don't...have a Knightmare..."

Wendy paused. ...Excuse me? What did you just say?"

"I don't...have a Knightmare, ma'am."

There was a slight pause between the two, while Wendy thought over the response without losing her temper. So, he didn't have a Knightmare. She didn't see what was so wrong for that. Except that he was a pilot, of course. Smiling and nodding at this, she suddenly screamed a loud expletive toward the heavens before grabbing Henry's shirt and pulling him toward her.

"WHAT IN THE HELL DO YOU MEAN 'YOU DON'T HAVE A KNIGHTMARE?!'"

An anxious wreck at this point, Henry again started to stare around the area in a manner that suggested he needed some serious help. "I-I mean, I did bring one here, but I-I damaged it while trying to land it and the technicians took it away and they haven't come back yet, so..."

No, Wendy didn't have time for this foolishness. Henry was cut off mid sentence, as she began dragging his sorry carcass against the ground. Soon, she arrived in front of her Lia Fáil and quickly informed him to climb aboard, leaving him some what vexed at her meaning.

"JUST GET IN! We're already late enough as it is! Hurry!"

He frantically nodded and did as instructed. The two soon climbed aboard the Knightmare and Wendy soon saw how uncomfortable this whole set up was going to be. The Lia Fáil was only built for one and Henry was nearly taking up all the space in it by himself. She inched over into her seat and started the machine up, all while Henry tried to accomodate himself on the side. His eyes widened some at the controls.

"S-So this is your Knightmare, Major Stalingrad? This doesn't look like a Gloucester or a Lancelot Spade to me..."

"Yeah, yeah. I'll fill you in on the details later, right now, just sit down, shut up, and don't touch or do anything stupid in here, you got that?!"

Henry nodded at her commands and she quickly started up her Lia Fáil. She still had to catch a 'hot date' with Gino Weinberg, the Knight of Three.

OoC: Big, stupid post, lol. Just wanted to make an NPC, I guess.
