Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Sumika

The hangar deck was alive with the daily drills and bustling activity that often accompanies the routine of a military academy. Hundreds of young men and women participated in exercises ranging from simple physical training to tactical briefings and weapons instruction. It almost looked like a war was getting started... and technically, it was. The Brittanian Restoration League was certainly on the march, and of course where there was something to be lost, someone higher up decided that they rather liked their position on top and should really get someone to take care of this problem. The ones who take care of the problem? The army of Brittania. The young, the hopeful, and the strong, but not altogether wise. Wars are never fought by the politicians whom declare them. That part in particular sickened Sumika, a lone mechanic who sat perched atop some crates near the maintenance bay.

To her, these were just mere children with whole lives ahead of them, throwing away everything they had 'for their country and king'. No better than the Black Knights and old regime under the former emperor. It's all just a waste of human life. Many of them would die before their prime, because someone in power wanted more, but didn't want to get it themselves. At least back at Murakumo-

No, that was in a different life.

Sumika pulled out a small datapad, idly skimming through the day's activities for herself. Oddly enough, very little to do today... maybe someone would send a rookie pilot or mechanic her way. She could use something to help fill the time.

Yukio had been visiting the academy quite often, giving a few tips to the pilots. Either knightmare training, or social tips. The instructors didn't mind his presence. In fact, they're grateful he comes to help teach the pilots.

The half brittanian walked into the hanger deck, taking notice of all the activity. You can easily single him out due to his long white hair, topaz eyes, and a black trench coat.

"Hm.... Must be a drill....."

The mechanic casually pocketed the datapad, taking notice as Yukio passed. He really did stick out among the students and their uniforms. While her own near-translucent skin and red eyes separated her from the crowd, the mechanic's jumpsuit was like a personalized camouflage: You were just a random person in the background, always supposed to be there but never altogether acknowledged, because then you'd be getting in the way.

"Yup, they all march earnestly and diligently to their deaths. Their leaders would be proud... if any of them cared."

It was a callous and inflammatory remark, but it would spark conversation at least.

"Hm?"

Yukio turned to the voice. A women in a mechanic's jumpsuit, stood there.

"Some do.... But rarely is there a time when a leader cares for his or her soldiers."

Back when the half brittanian was still a rookie, he had to lead a small group of pilots through various training exercises. He cared deeply for each pilot's well being, and got to know each of them personally. They were able to pass with ease.

"So what is your name, and what do you do here?"

The mechanic smiled.

"So, we are to simply throw away their lives over petty inches of dirt and poisoned earth, without regard for their wishes, friends, and family? Are they worth so little...? Ah, but to answer your question, I am Sumika. I suppose I would be called a mechanic by most, but mostly I just fix knightmares and talk in a seditious manner. They never let me do any real work around here. 'Repair a leg assembly' and 'Find out why this-or-that isn't working' gets pretty old after awhile. Heh, but so does war."

She smirked viciously, her voice tinged with spite. She hated war, and now she was forced to keep people fighting in them. A twisted irony by her former 'employers', but one she was willing to live with for now.

"Now, I'll ask the same of you: Who are you and why do you bother playing the same war games as everyone else?"

Yukio made a friendly smile.

"My name is Yukio Illuser, formerly a high class noble. Now I'm a simple man who owns a tea shop. I was a graduate here, and come a few times to help train the pilots. I don't really do any fighting nowadays, as I left the brittanian military."

Sumika shook her head. "Not a soldier, but teaches them, eh? Well, a wise idea anyhow. Brittania doesn't need any more people dying for it's cause. I'm surprised you left your noble roots behind. Most people would kill for a chance to live like that." She shifted herself uneasily, as if she felt like squirming, but didn't want to put forward the effort. The mere thought of the rich and wealthy made her uncomfortable, and here was someone who squandered that to live his own life. Made no sense to her.

"Well, it's an interesting choice to say the least. I take it you left after the last war?"

"Yes. Before I left, I keep enough money to help support myself and my family, then gave the rest to the needed. Sold my manor, and everything that came with it."

Yukio was 18 when the assassination of Lelouch occurred. He had learned the noble life wasn't his cup of tea, so after some convincing to his mother, he sold every unneeded item in his possession.

"Oho, a real philanthropist... so giving of oneself. Are they deserving though? Is it so good to give to those who will merely squander your gifts? Whom deserves what? Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of even the simplest men?"

She leaned up against a crate, the noise from the nearby soldiers and their exercises obscured their conversation to any hidden listeners.

"Every action has a reaction..."

"I was aware of that at the time, so I made sure they were sold to the Japanese. The manor was turned into a retirement home, since it was built in Japan.... So, can you pilot a knightmare?"

Because Yukio was part of a recon squad in the Black Knights, he doesn't get much action.
