Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Humored by Becca's reply to his invitation, Aoi explained himself:

"Well.... As a kid, I used to read a whole lot about the most brilliant generals and their tactics and strategies. As you could probably guess, this got me interested in Chess. It's been a while, but I think I've still got it in me to play a few. I have a few bills to spare, and could probably get a playing board in a few minutes if you're so willing."

Aoi turned to Xune and observed her technique. It wasn't too overly sophisticated, but he did notice one thing. She was always the aggressor, she never took a defensive stance, not even for a second. He wanted to voice his observation, but decided against it. It wasn't his place to critique anyone, especially since he hadn't had any formal training in hand-to-hand combat for ten years. Still, he wondered how she would do if she met someone who was even MORE aggressive than she was...

He looked up at the sky and saw the sun shillouted behind a cloud. Closing his eyes, he took a deep breath. But as soon as he had noticed it, the cloud had moved on, the sun shone brilliantly as it had done so. Opening his eyes, he started to reobserve Xune. But this time, a wave of pity washed over Aoi. His head whirled with questions: Why was she doing it? Why cause physical pain to yourself? What's wrong?

He walked closer to the tree and leaned against it. Getting a good look at Xune's face he decided that it was enough. As she went for another punch, Aoi grabbed her fist. He plead.

"Tell me... tell us. What's wrong?"

Once she finished pondering Aoi's chess request, Becca turned back to the man, who had now lent Xune an ear, feeling that she might be dealing with a few demons on the inside. Somehow, Becca had acquired the same feeling after watching the strange woman practicing alone. It was as if she were fighting some sort of rough battle within herself, all alone. This gave her the impression that Xune was probably not one to mingle with the crowds so to say, slightly opposite of the old Becca Buchanan, who often found herself being the center of attention after getting into unnecessary scuffles.

It seems that mostly everyone somewhat related to the military or this battle in general was straying away from others. Becca didn't want to become that type of person, but everyday she felt as if she were losing herself as she strived to be a full fledged soldier. It bothered her deeply, but at the moment she couldn't do a thing abut it, she had to live this way for at least now anyway. Her fellow cadets seemed to go along with the same mindset since they too kept to themselves. There were only those select few kids that could actually consider one another 'friends'.

That made Becca then ponder on both the word and subject of 'friends'. What exactly did it mean to truly be anyone's friend nowadays? Did she really have any true friends? Back at Ashford, she had met a variety of people, but was it appropriate to even consider them close at this rate? The only person who she could at the moment really think of as a friend would have to be Reid Legato, which of whom she heard had been sent back to the USJ. There goes her only friend in this country, but she supposed she would do just fine as she was now, even though Reid was half the globe away. Either way, she still knew he was supporting her all the way. But what about these character standing in front of Becca now? Would she in the future consider them to be friends?

"I'm actually not too good at playing chess...I could never get into focus much back then when my Dad tried to teach me. But then again, I WAS quite young back then so of course a small child wouldn't care for that sort of thing I suppose.", replied Becca once stepping back through the door of reality.

Aoi seemed to be very kind despite his rather unique appearance. Of course Becca believed that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, so she usually gave everyone she first encounters a fresh slate. That is, unless she already has some sort of insight as to what character the person may actually be. But somehow she had a good feeling that the man before her was not an enemy, but would become a trusted ally.

Coming to the conclusion that Xune wouldn't respond, Aoi let go of her fist and sighed:

"If you don't want to talk, so be it." But before he left, he leaned closely to her ear and said:

"In the sylvan green where the four lovers met,
Where Oberon and Titania were newly wed,
On the path where the three-limbed trees meet,
There you shall find me,
But only when our lovely Luna has taken the sky."

With that he turned to Becca and said:

"I'm headed out, gotta get some supplies. I could teach you chess while we're at it, it's really not - "

Aoi smiled at Becca but suddenly shuddered, almost imperceptibly. He remembered... remembered... remembered her. Aoi had forgotten about her. It was, just, so long ago. But why? Why now? For years he had forgotten about her existence, but was suddenly reminded of her. He had promised to her that he would see her again, but, that was years ago. Would she remember?

Remembering that he was still talking to Becca he finished is sentence
"-as difficult as it looks."

Staring off into the distance, Aoi thought to himself:

"I'll get my supplies first, I know it's been a while since I've seen her, but... I need to make sure I don't die trying to see her. After getting the supplies, I'll try and find her. After that... Well... I guess I'll have to wait."

Looking back at Becca he asked:

"So... Wanna tag along?"

Snapping out of whatever thought she was lost in, Becca abruptly shook her head yes as a reply to Aoi's inquiry. Quite frankly she wanted a change in the scenery for the park was getting to be a bit too crowded now that the sun was setting. You'd think that this would cause people to shy away, but here everyone seemed to flock to Saint Darwin's for moonlight picnics and such. Perhaps the police around Modnar City was too good at their job, since Becca had yet to see a suspicious character around town her whole stay here. Perhaps they could share some of their policing secrets with the force back in the USJ, where the crime rate was steadily rising over the years. Half the time it was just angry Britannians who couldn't face the Japanese having their country back. Perhaps those people have joined the BRL for the soul purpose of causing such mischief and nothing more.

"I'd actually be really grateful if you could teach me how to win at chess, cause my teachers keep on forcing me to play for the soul enjoyment of beating me.", she stated with a hint of playfulness, a tone she had not taken much lately.

A sharp, cool gust swept through the park suddenly and blew Becca's hair all about. It startled her a bit, causing her to flinch upon it's impact. Once the gust finished it's tyranny, Becca then went on with the chore of pushing her hair out of her face. It was moments like these that she seriously thought about cutting it short. Hopefully her lengthy locks wouldn't hinder her combat abilities on the battle field once she became a full fledged soldier.

"Hey Aoi, do you think it's okay for soldiers to have long hair?", she suddenly asked.

Perhaps asking that might've been a mistake, for if he were smart he'd automatically link her with the Britannian Military. As of now, she didn't want to be classified publicly as a soldier because you don't know what kind of people lurk around nowadays. Now that she thought about it, perhaps that was why Reid hadn't told her about his own service in the military. But it wasn't like Becca would use such info against anyone, especially since she already had her own ties to the military to begin with. Perhaps Reid just wasn't the type of person to openly trust people that way. But Aoi didn't seem harmful to her in any way, thus she agreed to go shopping with him.

Glancing over at the man, he still seemed to be trying to reach out to Xune, who seemed to be mighty troubled over something. Either way, she wasn't speaking, so perhaps it's best to leave such things be for now. However, Becca felt like this wouldn't be the last time that she would meet with Xune. This town seems a lot smaller than it actually is.

"Nevermind what I just asked.....shall we get going then?"

Rushing back into reality, Aoi realized that it was getting late. But what surprised him was that there were even more people in the park than before. He thought to himself:

"Must have a good police force. Then again, I do help them whenever I'm bored."

He focused his attention to Becca, and heard a playful tone, one that he hadn't heard for years. Deciding that he could play around with her, he said:

"I'll teach you how to win, how to lose, and more besides."

It was a while since he messed with anyone, and it was a nice to interact with someone in such a capacity.

Suddenly, a sharp gust of wind raced through the park. Luckily, Aoi was one of those people that no matter what happened to his hair, it always remained the same. After watching Becca brush her hair off her face, he drew close to her and replied:

"In the military, eh? Just tie it back. Personally, I think you look much more attractive with long hair."

With a smirk on his face, Aoi stepped back. He didn't know why, but he wanted Becca to get the wrong impression. Or was he playing with her? But in the end, it didn't matter. He was having fun, wasn't he?

"Tsk, tsk. Too late! But don't worry, it's not like that information is important to me."

Realizing that he had to get his gear, he added:

"Just give me a sec, getting my equipment. It's actually really close."

Running towards an encirclement of bushes not too far away from the tree, he pulled out his weapons and lugged them on.

"Everything's here, thank god."

After walking back to Becca's side he said:

"Got everything, lets go."

With that Aoi hooked his arm around Becca and with her, walked towards the exit.

Becca couldn't help but blush a bit due to Aoi's sudden remark. Lets just say she wasn't one used to such comments being made towards her. At this rate her face looked as red as a tomato, but she quickly turned away so that he wouldn't notice her rather overly dramatic reaction to the spectacle. She began to turn back to regular shade once Aoi went to go fetch his equipment.

Silently watching him from a distance, Becca couldn't help but gaze at his sword. She wasn't accustomed to seeing them since they only used firearms and Knightmare frames in the military. Though, she did recall one man that had wielded one. Yes, she recalled reading up about a man named Ling Xingke, who was always carrying around his trusty sword. He was quite the package, an excellent knightmare pilot, and even a master swordsman. Though, his only flaw had to be his mysterious illness. Even now no one knows where he could be, or even if he was still alive for that matter.

I hope Aoi isn't sick like that....no, that probably wouldn't be true. Even so, he doesn't look like one that's ill.

Becca was so lost in thought that she hadn't even noticed the fact that Aoi had made it back over to her and was waiting on her. A bit embarrassed, she couldn't help but turn beet red again. So, she nodded and silently stepped forward with him.

I need to stop spacing out so much...

Notincing Becca's red face, Aoi chuckled:

"Hey, it's not like I'm asking you out! Just calm down."
As they walked towards the exit, suddenly a great surge of people decided to head to the park:

"What the- Uh. Just hang on"
Aoi tightened his grip around Becca so she wouldn't get lost in the crowd. That reaction garnered him many raised brows. But that was nothing compared to the reaction he got when people looked at his equipment.

Not wanting to look any more awkward that he did, Aoi continued to walk foward with Becca, but soon regretted his decision. They were no longer headed for the exit, they were going in the direction that the crowd had given them. Aoi felt that he had to inform Becca of the situation. But as soon as he had thought of it, the crowd had dissipated. Heaving a sigh of relief he loosened his grip on her. His feeling of relief was halted when a branch caught his pants and gracefully dropped it around his ankles.

"Uh... This is just......"
Luckily, no one except Becca was around, but that made it that much more awkward.

[OOC: Not much to work with. So....... Yeah.]

OoC: sorry about that, i had to rush since the person whose internet I was mooching off of was kinda kicking me out of their house so they could go to sleep...>.>

Oh how the situation quickly shifted from slightly awkward, to flat out embarrassing. Becca did not know how to go about the situation, but stare at the pants less Aoi in front of her. Yep, her mind went completely blank alright, but her face had begun to slowly shift back into it's reddened state. Once she finally opened her mouth to speak, it came out as nothing but rambling.

"Y-Y-You....u-u-uh......", she stammered.

Realizing how rude she was for staring, Becca quickly turned away allowing Aoi the privacy he needed at the moment. She wondered if he himself was dying in embarrassment as she was currently. She felt no anger, for it wasn't really his fault that his pants magically fell down, but the fault of Saint Darwin's gardeners, who had failed at trimming down the bushes. Now she couldn't imagine acting normal towards him after this spectacle, or even what to say to him now. Perhaps it was best to be silent at this point.

S-Should I leave? No no...I can't do that...uhhh...

Birds chirped around the two, but not fully breaking the awkward silence that had crept up. Feeling tired of the awkwardness, Becca decided to say something, and in a complete sentence this time.

"Ummm...nobody's around luckily...."

So much for a complete sentence...

After a few seconds of silence and a few disjointed words from Becca, Aoi could barely contain his laughter. Pulling up his pants he tightened it much more than he usually would. He turned to Becca and said:

"What? Nervous and blushing again? Aww come on! We're friends, we have secrets. This will definitly be one of ours. And it's not like you saw...... Well... You know what I mean..."

Making sure that his sword was still attached, Aoi thought of a way to start a normal conversation after such an incident. He took a deep breath and tried to figure out what to say. Looking around himself, he was able to identify where they were. Fortunately, even after the holdup in the crowd, they were near the north entrance of the park.

"Becca, will you be able to get home? It's getting quite late. If you want, you could bunk down in my place, it's not far from here."

It truly was getting late. He didn't doubt the fact that Becca could defend herself against someone, but there was this innate sense of concern and worry tugging at Aoi. Feeling that he had to inform what Becca would get herself into if she agreed to sleep over, he continued:

"If you remember the riddle - well - instructions, that I told Xune, it should give you a good idea what it's like. Its almost like a normal bedroom, except with many, many more leaves."

Silently Aoi cursed himself when he realized that if he left the park earlier, they would have been able to part ways in a more formal manner.

Aside from the utter embarrassment that had just occurred, Becca felt the need to give Aoi props for even bothering to make conversation afterwards. Anyone else would've probably scurried away at the speed of light, including Becca, not that this has ever happened to her before. She soon found herself looking around once more, to see if some poor, stray by-stander had also witnessed what she had. Seeing no such thing, she couldn't help but sigh in relief.

"Ummm...how exactly or when would I bring this situation up into conversation? 'How's the weather today? Oh, did I mention a guy's pants dropped in front of me at the park the other day?' So yeah, this'll definitely not be spoken of ever again.", she replied in a somewhat flustered tone.

Luckily on that note, her face shifted back to it's original peachy shade, hopefully sparing her any further teasing. Gazing toward the northern entrance, which seemed to magically appear before them, Becca couldn't help but worrying about whether or not she would make it before the curfew. It seemed unlikely now, the sun had completely vanished, leaving a darkening sky. Groaning over this finding was the only thing she seemed to be able to do at the current moment, along with dreading her punishment.

It was at that moment that Aoi had proposed his offer of staying with him for the night. As ludicrous as the idea sounded, especially considering that they had only just met today and she knew hardly anything about the gentlemen, Becca had no money to stay anywhere else, nor the courage to sneak into her room at the academy. Perhaps Aoi was her only hope at this point, and luckily he didn't give off a 'serial killer' vibe, if serial killers even gave off that sort of thing.

"Umm, you sleep....outside then?", was her inquiry to Aoi's description of his bedroom.

Now that she thought about it, nothing seemed quite normal about Aoi, his sword, not being bothered about the pantsing prior to this new conversation, his invitation to a girl he hardly even knew. Or maybe that last fact just meant he was way more trusting of people than the average citizen today. Or perhaps Becca didn't give off that infamous 'serial killer' vibe, something she would probably need in the military.

"Err, nevermind, I guess I have no choice but to take you up on that offer seeing as how I won't make curfew. Well then, shall will we tell each other more about ourselves on the way then?"
