Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Aoi observed the trio. They seemed to know each other, or atleast Reid seemed to know one of them and the other two were very well acquainted with each other. After assessinng the situation Aoi stuck out his hand and said

"Sorry for the rather brusque interjection. My name is Aoi by the way."

OoC: Warned you that it'd be a short post. But what else could I put?

Gino did indeed stumble as Church slipped out of his grasp, but had the presence of mind to catch himself before he completely lost his balance. He took the hint and sat back down, still grinning like the Cheshire Cat, apparently he had interpreted Virgil's withdrawal to be devoid of any genuine malice. 'Pleased to meet you, Aoi. Gino Weinberg, Knight of Three,' he then indicated Reid and Virgil in sequence. 'Reid Legato, Britannian Military, Private First-Class. Earl Virgil Churchill, heir of the late Marquess.'

With the introductions out of the way, he took another sip of his coffee before turning to address Churchie's inquiries. 'Well I'm in need of skilled help y'see, been rather thrown to the dogs as of late and someone of your skillset'd be crazy useful with the project I'm putting together.' He had to be so vague only because of Aoi's presence, it wasn't like the team was heavily classified, but it was always best to exercise caution. Foolish and forward he might have been, but it would be a fatal mistake to ever assume that Gino Weinberg was anything approaching idiotic.

'Reid here is going to be my right hand man and you... well I need someone who does what you do best.'

Suddenly, all of Virgil's more apparent feelings vanished the moment Gino finished his sentience, his composure absorbing his attitude as it instantly became that which he was so well known for. Virgil placed a hand on his chin, contemplating Gino's words. He must be offering me a place in that strike force he's been getting together, thought he. It was a reasonable assumption he had made before hand, but he doubted that Sir Weinberg would ever actively seek out an Intelligence Officer for a military operation, even if he /was/ in Military Intelligence. The Knights of the Round had access to most every personnel on hand from Generals to (as seen with Reid) Privates. Unless, perhaps, he was getting desperate. Or maybe the circumstances of this strike force were...different then he had previously conceived.

"Hm...I see, Knight Weinberg. But there are plenty of fish in the sea, so to speak. Why send an angler to do a shark's job? Unless...you require my specific talents? Or...aaah...I think I understand."

Several possibilities played out in Virgil's head. First and foremost, this could possibly be a stealth based taskforce where an Intelligence Officer could provide insights or assistance more than a General of any sort could. On the least likely side, Virgil might know some people of interest that could assist this 'project', or perhaps it was just the weight his name could hold in the court of legitimacy, though god knows Gino's name would serve just fine there, reckless as he is he was still the Knight of Three. But Virgil thought the most likely reason for this was his long absence from the public eye. He had only just reemerged, a fact that very few people were even aware of, and so fewer still would be able to expect Churchill's involvement into this project. Of course, none of these reasons were mutually exclusive, and most didn't hold alot of water when put to the test...but he doubted Gino had thought this whole thing through anyway.

But the thing that was oddest of all of this-- Private Reid, a, well, Private, was supposedly the XO in this operation.

"How very odd all of this is. Why are you inviting kids into your club, Weinberg?"

Reid took offense to being called a kid however he did not make notice of this. He had learned a long time ago that higher ups only like results, they could care less about who you are... Or were. As professionally as he could muster Reid stated "Please, do tell Sir Weinberg." The truth was that Reid really had no idea as to his selection either. Sure, the military had lost many members when they had defected to the BRL but surely there were more qualified candidates than he? But alas, here he was; in Britannia undertaking a huge task that was placed on him. He intently waited on the response of Gino as to his selection for this task.

Churchie was understandably suspicious, not that there was anything to be suspicious of, it was just that Church had always been suspicious of everything. That was why he was good at his job and partly why Gino waned him. 'Geez Church, don't make it sound so weird, you'll get me arrested. There's a good reason for it, but its better not to discuss it in public.' He turned towards Aoi and added a quick: 'No offence.'

He stopped to finish his coffee, swilling the last mouthful around before swallowing to savour the fresh taste if only for a second or two longer. 'Let's for now just say that due to certain extraneous factors, it's best that our recruits have as little exposure to the Britannian Military as is possible. As for Reid, well, it's a good commander's business to let his subordinates distinguish themselves. It's an unoffcial role right not but if he's good enough he'll get an officer's commission, if he's not then he'll probably wind up dead.'

Gino didn't sound grim or matter of fact in the least, he sounded like they could've been discussing sports or the weather. Which wasn't to say he didn't care, because he did more so than many a CO, Reid had chosen the path he wanted to walk and it was only fair he knew what was in front of him. 'Defying death a thousand times, that's the kind of skill and experience you need under your belt to even think about being a Knight let alone one of the Rounds.'

Those last words rang true in Reid's mind. He had never questioned what it took to become a Knight, he knew it took more than what average people were made of. To Reid it was never a question of did he have what it took, Reid knew he did, but rather when everyone else would find out. Sitting back in his chair Reid only responded "I understand sir." To him that was all that needed to be said. All that could be said.

Aoi looked at the three. From the way the conversation was going, it seemed that his presence was interfering in their conversation:

"It seems that my presence is interrupting a private conversation, if it's necessary, I'll be more than happy to leave the conversation."
Raising is cup, he tipped it towards the trio:

"To your health"
With that he gulped down the rest of his tea. He rose quickly and ended up bumping into a waitress. Just his luck, she was carrying a cup of tea. His immediate instinct was to grab it, but he also caught an armful of the steaming, hot tea. But the burn wasn't what bothered him.

"THE TEA!!! NOOOOOOO..... It's.... It's wasted. So... So sorry."

With that he bowed his head and made way to the bathroom to wash his arm. Luckily, he wasn't wearing his gloves, otherwise they would have given off an awful stench.
