Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Walking throughout what used to be Shinjuku Ghetto, Ritsu couldn't help but feel like he was walking in a completely foreign land. This was clearly not the same Shinjuku he had grown up with his parents. No, that place was desolate, with it's gray skies that never once parted to reveal the hidden shades of blue. Looking up at the sky now, he saw an abundance of blue sky mixed in with glorious rays of sunshine. It somewhat burned his eyes since he had spent the past few days inside his small apartment. Lately something had been tugging at his conscience, so much that he ended up back here at Shinjuku. Here, he always shows up when things get a little to heavy to bear and visits his parents' graves.

His attire fully in white,, you'd wonder if he really was a Black Knight. To him it's normal attire, but to the rest of Shinjuku's occupants it's unusual, suspicious, and eye catching. However Ritsu could care less of the opinions of these citizens, feeling that they are living their lives in a mere shell fueled by fear. His thoughts were shattered by the loud rumbling of his stomach. And even that drew the eyes of passer-byers.

"Hmmmm....when was the last time I had a bite to eat?", he wondered.

Indeed, he hadn't been taking care of himself very well lately. Surely his actions would have his parents rolling over in their graves by now. Heck, they've probably been rolling over for years now what with all the calamity he's caused these past few years. Again, his stomach rumbled in starvation, thus forcing him to stop at a local vender.

"One Lunch Special please.", he softly ordered.

Not much later, he was given his order after the proper money exchange and headed over to a local bench to devour his meal. Carefully, he began to eat, trying not to spill any of it's contents on his clean white clothes.

Reid strolled through Shinjuku, taking in the sights of a town he had grown so familiar to. It was hard to believe he'd be leaving in almost the same manner as he came. Reid had came to Japan to restore his family's name to honor in Britannia, a meaningless effort to his dead parents but one he felt he had to make. As he walked through the quaint town his stomach made a rumbling sound, reminding him that he hadn't eaten in awhile. Ordering some food at a nearby restaurant, Reid paid for it and then looked for a place to consume it. Spotting a bench, Reid sat down and began to eat. There was another man on the bench but Reid paid him no mind and continued to eat.

Ritsu was halfway through his lunch set when the stranger decided to plop down next to him. Looking over briefly, he noted how young the man looked and was somehow reminded of his time running the streets. With that in mind, he decided to do the unusual for him, start up a conversation with a complete stranger. Ritsu had no idea why he felt compelled to do this however.

"You from around here?", was his first question.

A simple one if any, and the only one he could currently think of at the moment. In fact, his brain was practically melting trying to think of how to reply to whatever the stranger was going to say. Something deep down however wished that the man wouldn't say anything at all. While waiting for a reply, Ritsu took a bite out of one of his sweet egg rolls. He wouldn't even be eating them if they lacked their sweet flavor, since he was a complete sucker for sweets. A weak point if any, since sweets were no good and he never treated his body properly.

"Man this is good stuff! You'd think this was a home made bento lunch!"

Reid paused for a moment when the young man next to him inquired about his residence. Looking at him Reid swallowed his bite and replied "Not naturally. I'm originally from Britannia but ended up here in Japan. I come to this restaurant every once in a while though. The food reminds me of... Old friends." It was at that moment that Reid began to think back to his childhood, of playing with Japanese kids when nobody else would talk to him. Their mothers, while at first suspicious of the young Britannian, eventually warmed up to him and even offered to share some of their children's meals with him. This was especially helpful after his parents died. Reid quickly snapped back to reality, it was unwise to live in the past. This was something he reminded himself of quite often, Turning his attention to the man he inquired "how about you? You from here?"

Ritsu ended up chuckling a bit before taking another huge chomp out of his bento lunch. There was something about today that seemed to put to ease his uneasy feeling. Maybe it was the sunshine he was unaccustomed to, or perhaps the tasty lunch had created some kind of euphoric effect that had by now coursed his veins. Still, this was not the Shinjuku that he remembered, so he honestly hesitated before replying to the stranger's question.

"Yep, but i'm just visiting today. Been a while since i've had great Shinjuku cooking like this here!"

He held up his lunch while referring to it. Passer-byers still went on by as if the world they lived in was always this peaceful, always this extravagant. It made Ritsu sick, but he was relieved that the people of Shinjuku didn't have the same desolate expressions as in the past. Thinking that, Ritsu's mind was then flooded with horrible thoughts of his childhood. Shaking them away, he put on a smile to hide his now dampened mood.

"No now Ritsu...don't wanna scare him away with your despair...."

Reid smiled and nodded in agreement. He replied "Too true! Nothing beats fine Japanese cuisine!" This sentiment would normally seem odd coming out of the mouth of a Britannian but Reid had long since lost his care for outdated customs. Living very closely with Japanese people had given him a different sort of view on how race relations should be, something he is frequently teased about by fellow Britannians. In his heart that was the reason Reid was fighting so fervently against the BRL. He felt as if his entire family was Japanese and he would not let them get hurt.

"Yep, but I don't really get to experience this kind of good cookin' since I can't really cook. I mean, every time I step into my kitchen to make something over the stove, it explodes!", exclaimed Ritsu.

He found it strange that he was even sharing this fact with someone he had just met. Guess it was too far gone to think of himself as the same person he was a few years ago, for at least now he could engage in a conversation. The proof was also in his eyes, which had grown more gentle over the years.

"I'm Ritsu by the way, and you?"

Before Ritsu could recieve any type of reply, his phone began to chirp quite profusely, causing him to sigh with a hint of exasperation. Hesitating, he picked up the phone with his usual unpleasant tone. The only people who had his unlisted number were those involving the Black Knights.

"Ritsu speaking."

It didn't take much longer before Ritsu began to yell at whoever was on the other side of the line. His actions caused a scene, with the locals' harsh comments whispering off their lips. Ritsu simply gave the starers the crudest scowl he could possibly make, thus forcing them to shuffle away. Today was neither the place nor time to make a scene in Shinjuku.

"I'll be back later on.", were his last words before shutting his phone.

"Sorry, sorry, you know how pesty some people can get sometimes...", Ritsu stated now turning his attention back to the person beside him.

Reid nodded and said "Trust me, I know the feeling." Reid was surprised that his own phone wasn't blowing up with calls from the Military this close to his departure date. Reid then stated "My name's Reid. Nice to meet ya!" Reid was surprised by Ritsu's openness but sensed no malicious harm in it, instead deciding that it was nice to make a new friend. Especially one who enjoyed Bento Boxes as much as he did. Finishing off his lunch, Reid tossed the garbage into a nearby trash can and returned to the bench.

Ritsu noticed that the only thing left in his lunch just happened to be leeks. Oh how Ritsu despised those horrid things with a vengeance. This hatred stems all the way back to his childhood when he was forced to eat leeks by his mother. Only, those leeks just happen to come from a market where the produce wasn't so fresh. So, Ritsu ended up having food poising for almost a week. Even worse, he was forced to eat two whole plates of it with his mom saying how good it was for him. Just the thought of even picking them up wit his chopsticks made him shutter. Closing the box, he threw away the bento and it's unwanted contents in the nearest wastebasket before relaxing back onto the bench.

"Strange.....you ever seen a place where the sun never shine, not even once. And then suddenly the place is all smiles and sunny?"

The question itself might have been a tad weird, but not to Ritsu's understanding. He had always pondered the question to himself and wondered what another might say to his question. That he was nuts? That perhaps he thought too much about the factors of life? Ok, perhaps the second one was true, even on point maybe. Even though thinking like this about his very being made him feel somewhat, self-centered, he didn't really feel compelled to stop doing it.

Noticing a slight scuff mark on his pure white shoes, Ritsu began to wipe it with a handkerchief, matching color.

Reid thought for a moment and said "Can't say that I have. Although, just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist." As the man cleaned his shoes Reid then noticed his attire. The w=man was dressed in pristine white from head to toe, his clothes were so white that they might even put clouds to shame! Noting this fact Reid said "You seem to have a thing for white. Any particular reason?" Reid hoped that he hadn't offended his new friend so early and eagerly awaited the reply of the sharp dressed man.
