Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

'Ow-ow-ow!' Yamato rolled his flatbed out from under the Akatsuki he'd been servicing wagging his hand in pain. 'Stupid outdated equipment... always so temperamental.' He sat up and looked out of the bay at the soldier to whom the Knightmare belonged with a disapproving frown. He'd brought it in for maintenance because one of the Landspinners wasn't... well spinning. 'You realise if you took this into combat the legs would have failed?' Or exploded... he left that part out. The relatively fresh recruit shrugged his shoulders, scratching the back of his head.

'It had a full service before it was assigned me a year ago.'

Yamato sighed, dipping his head down between his legs in exasperation, of course it wasn't really his fault. Most soldiers were of a mind that was perfectly willing to pilot a Knightmare and remain almost entirely oblivious of its inner workings. Which was not strictly a bad thing, it kept him busy at least, but on the flip it kept him away from R&D. Leaning back he pulled himself under the Knightmare again and continued to work... right up until a coolant line ruptured, showering him in the putrid liquid which by rights should have been changed months ago. He must have made quite the sight, his top half obscured beneath the prone frame while his legs began to spasm in shock and annoyance. 'Oh that's just disgusting!' It took him about a minute to find the leak and clamp it, after which he had to tramp up to the cockpit to isolate and disable all the coolant feed to the leg he was working on... which made it hot as hell under there.

Sighing as he again returned to the frame's underside he wiped off his brow. 'Oh now I see it, the knee joint's ended up misaligned and it's almost severed a control line.' Triumphantly he shoved himself out from under the frame and sprang up to deliver the 'good' news to the anxious pilot. 'The lower leg will have to come off, most of the lines running down are probably a loss too so it would be faster to take the whole thing off, after that we'll have to do a coolant drain and I'd like to check on the main drive to make sure the overheating problem hasn't caused any complications... when we're done with that--'

'Oh man! I had a patrol this afternoon... my CO's gonna have a fit!' The recruit was already walking away as he lamented over his situation, probably agonising as to how to explain his situation. Oh if he even tries to pin this on us! Stepping over to the side of the bay he wiped the remaining fluid from his face, though he knew from past experiences that the smell would linger and endure through at least three showers. There were some things he just hated about his job, persisting funk notwithstanding he rarely seemed to get any great degree of thanks for his efforts. Then again, it is a military... of sorts.

Slumping down at the side of the bay he tipped his head back and shut his eyes for a moment. He'd have to requisition a crane and some extra manpower to shift the leg off, no telling how long that could take to pull together and the job was hardly likely to take little time. ''Aw man, this'll take hours.'

Caution: May Cause Insanity

Raiiel quickly dried herself off and got dressed after stepping out of the shower. She spent a few minutes restlessly walking around her personal room within the Black Knight base. Once she was fed up with it, and completely bored, she decided to take a walk around the base to see if anything interesting was going on. Without caring that her hair was still damp, causing her bangs to be heavier enough that they clumped lightly together and completely covered the right side of her face, she left her room. She walked around casually, sipping a can of milk coffee through a thin straw. A towel was draped around her neck like scarf, to keep her hair from dripping everywhere.

As she walked around and passed other Black Knights, she got two different kind of reactions. Those who were still new to the Black Knights and/or had not seen the Zero Division Captain without her mask, either stared as she walk past or gave her a questioning look, as if they did not know what to make of someone walking around so casually and nonchalant. Those who did know who she was, paused, saluted respectfully, then continued on their way. They knew she did not really care for such displays, but they still wanted to show their respect and admiration for being graced with the presence of such an important division captain. They also knew not to stop her for a chat when she was dressed as she was, for she was not on "duty."

She was not really dressed in the proper Black Knight uniform, or in any kind of "professional" attire. All she had on was a simple black tank top, black shorts, and black and gray striped, thigh-high socks. She was wearing her cloak with the Black Knight symbol on the back, though. There was also a small handgun at her hip. Her cloak was the only thing that identified her as someone who was allowed to freely walk down the halls of the Black Knight base. She was not even wearing shoes. This was her usual, day-to-day outfit whenever she had time off and was not wandering around Japan and mingling with the Japanese people.

Raiiel decided to go visit her Knightmare, a favorite accessory, only second to her collection of sniping rifles. She changed her random course now that she had a real destination, still sipping on her milk coffee; not that she needed any coffee, or that caffeine had much of an affect of her, and she would probably take a nap afterwards if she did not get called out on a mission, but she liked drinking something cold after a shower, it relaxed her.

As she approached the Knightmare hangar where she had decided to store her Valkyrie for now, she heard voices. They were clear to her ears due to the echo the hangar walls produced. As the rookie left and walked passed her without a second thought and ignoring her completely, Raiiel paused at the entrance of the hangar and looked in curiously for the owner of the second voice she heard. She vaguely recognized him as the young techie that Rakshata had taken under her wing. She did not remember his name though, she had a bad habit of forgetting peoples' names.

Being a sniper and all, her footsteps were silent as she walked up to Yamato, so he probably didn't hear her approaching. She smelled of a freshly made fruit salad, and so did her towel as she dropped it on Yamato's upturned face, silently offering him something to wipe away the rest of the Knightmare fluid off of him; her hair was dry enough by now, anyway. "Are you having fun over here?" she said with laughter in her voice as if she had made a joke. Without waiting for an answer, she pulled out the key to her Knightmare and swung it from it's keyring on her finger like a pendulum, "Won't you take a look at my Knightmare?" she asked, smiling her sly smile. Raiiel took care of her Knightmare Frame, just like she took care of her rifles, so she was confident that this boy would not find any major problems, she just felt like distracting him for a moment so she could entertain herself.

Yamato jumped as the towel was chucked on his face without warning. After scrambling his hands over it a second or two he found an edge and pulled it off. 'Hey, what's your pro-- uhm...' He immediately cut himself off as soon as he realised who he was talking to. In a moment he was up off the floor and saluting, despite having nearly tripped over his own leg on the way up. Then, wonder of wonders, he found himself with the key to none other than the illustrious Valkyrie dangling in front of his face. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. 'Me?' He asked as though there just happened to be another boy genius in the direct vicinity which had somehow slipped by him.

He delicately took hold of the key, drawing it in towards him as if he were holding something desperately beautiful and fragile. She wants me to work on the Valkyrie? THE Valkyrie!? He stared down at the key in his palm, rubbing the towel over the back of his head and neck. This had to be a dream. Here was the Captain of Zero Division (none too conservatively dressed mind you) handing over the key to the Valkyrie. If Zero even poked his head around the corner it just HAD to be a dream. He only averted his eyes to towel off his face, fully expecting for the key to have vanished along with every thread of clothing on him by the time he was done. Hm, nice, smells like fresh cut fruit... she must have only just used-- He stopped dead at the thought as a more than healthy bloom found its way into his cheeks. He quickly finished and slung the towel round his neck. The key was still in his palm and he himself was fully clothed, looked as though his cheeks weren't the only thing coming up roses.

He realised that in his anxiety he'd forgotten the officer in the bay completely, his feet came together so quick they might as well have been on Landspinners as he stood to attantion. 'Yes ma'am, I'd consider it a superlative honour to be allowed to work on the Valkyrie. Only...' He looked up to the Akatsuki in need of its new leg, biting the inside of his lip. He poked towards it with his thumb as he continued. 'I'm suppose to be fitting this Akatsuki a new limb... it's an absolute nightmare in there, no pun intended. But then again...' he trailed off and looked down at the key, this was the chance of a lifetime. 'If this is a maintenance order from the Zero Division Captain I can't rightly refuse, now can I?'

He smiled playfully, already imagining what it would be like to really get to grips with such a phenomenal machine.

EDITED:

Isaac who had been walking to his room hears the two people.walking in to the room he looks at the knightmare . He then thinks to himself "what a wreck where did they pull it from". Over hearing them Isaac says to the boy,"i'll fix the knightmare to you".
Knowing that it was only to fix the leg that was getting fixed at the moment he knew that he was going to have to fix the whole thing.
"oh i forgot to introduce my self im Isaac Holmes."
he was say this with a smile he was getting to know all the people, this is going to delay my research in to making a smaller F.L.E.I.J.A. He then says out loud "my invention will make our combat easier"

She brushed away her still damp hair to temporarily reveal the right side of her face, amused that this boy seemed so excited about working on her Knightmare. "It's not like it's going to take a long time, just a check up," she said with a smile and a sly wink, "unless there really is something wrong, but my Knightmare has priority over that, anyways," she added as she gestured with the hand that wasn't holding her milk coffee in the direction of the soon-to-be crippled Akatsuki. Her hair promptly fell back over the right half of her face.

Raiiel's sharp "sniper sense" picked up the sound of footsteps approaching them. Temporarily distracted, she looked away from Yamato to lay her eyes on the newcomer who then offered to take over for Yamato on the other Knightmare. She was not expecting anyone else to come along, and had just planned to play with Yamato for a while, but now there were two minds to choose from. Oh, the fun she could have.

She turned back to Yamato, smiling her sly smile, "See? Problem solved." The one who introduced himself as Isaac Holmes randomly mentioned some invention he was working on, and she made no comment, basically ignoring him. She did not know the mechanics of many things, and did not care for them, she left that for the "techies." How sniping rifles work was the only knowledge she willingly had of mechanical devices. She was not interested in "inventions," she was only interested in action, in being in the field where the combat was, albeit from a distance and watching events unfold through her scope.

"Before you start though, I'd like to do something~" She said with a mischievous look in her eyes as she smiled at Isaac. She would have done this while Yamato was distracted by her Valkyire, but now she would not be able to get away with it in private, so why not while everyone was looking? She wandered over to a work bench with tools and schematics and other odds and ends scattered around, and began searching. Her trained sniper eyes quickly found a thick permanent marker. Once it was in her hands she excitedly went over to the Akatsuki, uncapped the marker, and began writing on the Knightmare's good leg as high up as she could reach. In neat, slanted handwriting, she scrawled "Property of Reaper" big enough that it could not be overlooked, then added below that a poorly drawn, but recognizable picture of a scythe, which she had unofficially claimed as a trademark.

"Don't erase that," she said innocently, "That's an order," she added in a more serious, but still light, tone as she looked from Isaac to Yamato. This was her way of punishing the pilot of this Knightmare for not taking care of his things. She could not understand why, though. She always, on a regular basis, cleaned and maintained each and every one of her sniping rifles, as well as her personal hand gun. She also made sure to keep her Knightmare is tiptop shape, sure she left the cleaning and most of the maintenance to the mechanics, but she at least did simple things such as running a system check every time she had the time to before going into combat, or even before going for a leisurely flight. Her guns and her Knightmare were her weapons, and she relied on them to keep her, and her allies, alive. It was common sense to do so, because if she never did these things, they might rebel against her and jam or stop working altogether when she needs them the most, costing her precious time to unjam or fix them. Besides, if the pilot had a problem with her marking his Knightmare, he would have to take it up with her, and she would gladly confront him and mess with his mind a little bit.

Isaacs smile soon turned to a frown when he saw what this girl did to the knightmare not knowing who she was he then starts talking to with slight anger in his voice
"can you tell me why you did that cause its vandalising another persons property ,he normal wouldn't can but this was a knightmare, and even more a knightmare a majestic machine.
Isaac had more love for a knightmare than any person in the world even Lloyd Asplund his hero.
It was only then from studying the key he realised who this girl was.
well I must apologise i didn't know i was in the presence of zeros leader of zero squad but it still gives you the right to vandalises such beautiful machines.
He then walks over to the knightmare dropping the plans to his miniature F.L.E.I.J.A. most likely on purpose cause he then laughed.

{{Alright, post order from here on shall be: Yamato, Rai, Isaac (Repeat)}}

'Oh really? Uhm, thanks,' was all the reply Yamato could give to Isaac. It might well have seemed a little insubstantial, perhaps even rude, but by this point Yamato was almost in a world of his own. Though his body was still with Raiiel and Isaac, his mind had been resolutely with The Valkyrie since he'd even laid his hand on the key. He was ready and raring to get going, so much so that he was actually tapping the heel of his foot. That anxious tapping stopped just as soon as one subject came up. His fists and jaw clenched at the thought of the research that was going on side by side with his own. F.LE.I.J.A was a mistake, a monstrosity which even its creator eventually disowned. No good will ever come from it. He held his tongue, tempting as it was to tell Isaac just what he thought of the other his brainchild. He glanced back down to the key in his hand as the Zero squad's captain went about defacing the Akatsuki, he only looked up briefly at what he was ordered not to remove, which made him double take as he had prepared to leave.

His mouth hung open, clearly he wanted to say something, but just could seem to find the words. 'Yes ma'am,' he finally said after a second or two. Upon a moment's reflection it WAS in fact rather funny, not something he would have the utter gall to do himself. Worth a smile at least. His amusement however, was clearly dampened by Isaac's fervent objection. 'I'd hardly call any weapon of war “beautiful.” It is what it is, Knightmares are tools of warfare, that's all.'

I watched the Sutherlands descend on Shinjuku... don't dare stand in front of me and tell me any Knightmare is a thing of beauty!

'Besides which seeing as how I've spent the last three hours cataloguing the errors on it, the pilot doesn't seem to care. That leg's just the start.' Not wanting the debate to escalate to the point where he couldn't hold his tongue Yamato turned away from the ill-maintained frame, glancing around the hangar for any sign of The Valkyrie. Spotting it by its distinctive armour and gigantic sniping rifle, he strode across the hangar, nearly bumping into several people as he crossed from A to B. Coming to a stop before the massive machine he looked up at the incredible piece of engineering prowess. He couldn't help but wonder what Rakshata would think about him getting his hands all over it... it wasn't like he was Lloyd, but she was funny about the Knightmares she built. Her 'children' she called them which, truth be told, Yamato found sort of weird.

I'm sure she wont mind... I haven't seen her in days anyway, so she's working on something or other. Hm, I could ask the Captain if she'd let me fit it with that somewhere down the line. But there I go getting ahead of myself. I can only make it work in simulation at this point.

Before anyone in the bay knew what was going on, Yamato was sliding into the cockpit and powering the frame up. Ooh, leather seats, top of the line military hardware with civilian sector comfort. Just what I'd expect of something built by Rakshata... it is really cosy in here, I need to put one of these in my Tsubasa. Leaning back in the seat, he crossed his arms as the Knightmare began to reel off internal diagnostic information. As Captain Rayvin had said, it was in startlingly good condition. 'Well... she does build these things to last under even extreme conditions, so that's to be expected.' In the solitude of the cockpit he had begun to think aloud, what he left silent was the fact that its superb condition made things much more boring for him. He was only inside of the cockpit for a minute or two when he came to a conclusion.

'It's great,' he sighed as he opened the cockpit, the pilot seat sliding out into view as he crossed a leg over his knee. Such a thing should have been cause for celebration, but it meant that the most he would get to do would be to service and tune it up some. 'Though on a frame like this the drive output could be higher, I'll have to check the connection with the Filler port first.'

(Ooc:sorry im jumping out of order but nuky hasn't replied for a while)

Isaac looks at the boy in the cockpit of the Knightmare he then starts to yell a little bit
"to you they might be just a war machine but to me there more then that there like family"
then from the stress one off his eyes starts to go blurry, "and do you know why i work on the F.LE.I.J.A its so I'm closer to my parents"

his other eye then goes blurry then he see his parents he then says like a child
"mummy and dad you both died in the pink flash" he was referring to the F.LE.I.J.A.
he then quickly takes a pill from his other pocket before he faints. he try to do this quick so no ones knows of his heart condition

Caution: May Cause Insanity

She recapped the marker and tossed it in the general vicinity where she had found it as she stepped back to admire her "art." Raiiel looked at Isaac questionably, "Does it matter why I did it? An order is an order. You're starting to sound like one of those boring goody-goodies," she said jokingly with a light laugh. She always expected people to question her actions, but they rarely ever do, making her satisfied but bored. Her imposing aura and her deadly skills on the battlefield almost always made everyone else hold their tongues. She would prefer it if people argued with her since it lets her have some fun, but at the same time she disliked having her subordinates acting against her. It was amusing because she got to engage in one of her favorite things to do, mess with peoples' minds. But, there were times when she realizes she is wrong, and of course, she is able to twist her verbal opponents' words and use them against them in order to win the argument and leave everyone else confused.

She saw Yamato start to walk away and followed him, sipping on the remainder of her milk coffee. Once her can was empty, she shoved it into the arms of a random guy that walked by her. She continued to follow Yamato, wordlessly leaving the baffled worker with her trash. She didn't feel like searching for a trash bin, and she didn't feel like holding onto an empty can of milk coffee until she got back to her private quarters. So she decided to go with the next best solution, let someone else take care of it for her. What fun is having authority if she did not use it for little things every once and a while?

At least Raiiel had decided for once to actually leave her Knightmare in the hangar. Usually she would just park it in some deserted corner that she knew no one really went by, and left her cloaking device activated. Though, there are times when there are complaints of people who have tripped or ran into the invisible Frame, and it always amused her to hear.

She stopped at the foot of her Knightmare and watched Yamato get in and close the cockpit, only to reappear minutes later looking disappointed. Amused, she smiled up at him. "Whatever you say~" she replied with a wave of her hand as if it did not matter to her. And it didn't really matter, she was not into what she called "techie talk" and usually just ignored people whenever they started talking about the inner workings of machinery. Knightmares were not her thing, sniping rifles were.

A fun idea popped into her mind, making a mischievous smile appear on her lips. She had to fight off this boredom of hers somehow. Without warning, without waiting for a reaction, Raiiel nimbly and silently climbed up to the cockpit of her Knightmare and jumped in while Yamato was distracted, settling in his lap as she put her arms around him, "Have you told me your name yet?" she asked innocently, lowering her voice as if they were going to have a private conversation and putting her face close to his.

Yamato couldn't help but frown at the Captain's outright dismissal of his assessment, sure he had been thinking out loud, but it was nice now and then to think his professional opinion mattered to someone in the Black Knights. Evidently that was not the case. His scowl was broken immediately and replaced with a look of sheer shock as Captain Rayvin elected to 'join him' in the pilot's seat. He jerked backwards as she settled into his lap, pressing himself against the seat even as she slipped her arms around him. Again that bloom of embarrassment (or was it anxiety?) crept into his cheeks.

Though the Captain seemed to have no such compunctions about personal space Yamato's hands remained firmly fixed at his sides as he replied with an audible gulp. 'It's Yamato, ma'am. Yamato Shizuka... I uh, I of course know who you are Captain.' It occurred to him after the fact that he'd already established this, but seeing as how they were clearing introductions it wasn't such a bad thing. Besides which she WAS sitting on him, so it wasn't exactly easy to maintain a clear and present mindset. He'd only just managed to ascertain that he was not in fact dreaming the entire scenario (though this latest development rather threatened to throw that hypothesis into disfavour) how was he meant to exchange pleasantries with a elegant, liberated, empowered woman? If he weren't so flustered at their situation he'd probably not be doing much better anyhow.

For a while he didn't say anything, simply locked eyes with her. 'So... Captain, I don't often see the Valkyrie in any of the hangars... why is that exactly? Oh-- don't get me wrong! It's in perfect working order it's just you don't come by as often as I'd like... with the frame... I'm rambling aren't I?' He rounded off with a nervous little laugh, as if he hadn't made quite enough of a fool out of himself already. He was only surprised he hadn't broken out into a flop sweat, he was starting to hope that he was dreaming, otherwise he might never live it down.
