Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Forever Falling

Kallen froze up, as GIno moved the Guren's key across toward her heart and began to talk some sense into her. What was he doing? Why was he doing this? How could someone that couldn't even come to terms with themselves be of any use to the Black Knights? The only thing holding her back was herself and she knew that with all her heart. It wasn't fear that was holding her back, or even a sense of selfishness. What was it then? Why didn't she want to fight for her country? Why did she refuse to help the Black Knights? Why wasn't she fighting alongside Zero on the side of justice as she did so long ago. She snatched her arm away from Gino's grasp and took a couple of steps back, unsure of what she was doing, what she had been thinking. Suddenly, she feel to her knees, placed her hands on her head, and shut her eyes from the world. Her mind was utterly blank and she couldn't come up with any sort of response.

"I-I...don't know anymore..."

What had happened to the old Kallen? Had she become so weak because of the long winded peace the world had experienced? Why was she hesitating? The more she thought on the matter, the more question popped up in her head. She saw former self shattering into glass, replaced by a weak and fragile woman that remained indecisive. None of this was even making sense to her; it was out of her character to not act and wait around like this. She was a woman of action, after all. Slowly, she gathered the strength to stand. Everything had come to her all at once; she understood what she had to do.

"Gino, you said that you thought you knew me, right? Well, perhaps you were wrong. If I can't even make the simple decision to defend my homeland at a time like this, then I don't think I deserve to carry this key around."

Without warning, she took the Guren's key from around her neck and gradually placed within Gino's palm, her eyes welling up as she did. This was the right decision, she thought. The Guren would be of no use in her hands, it better severed helping Japan than in the ownership of someone like her. She bowed toward Gino one last time, said her goodbye, and began to walk off into the distance. She didn't know where she was going, but she simply wanted to be alone for the time being.

Diamond: Wow, Bunny just said 'Gimme a Knife.' I think that's the scariest thing a woman could ever say.
Artie: ...yes...
drobum: nah. "You're the father" is much worse

Before he knew just what was happening Gino found himself staring at Kallen's retreating back while he clutched the Guren's key in his hand. He opened his mouth to call after, reaching for her with the same hand that held the key, but no sound came. He watched her vanish around the corner and looked solemnly down at the key left with him. Well... that didn't go exactly the way I planned it to. He kept his eyes down on the key as he heard Kallen's continually quietening footfalls. This was wrong, the key in his hand... it felt wrong. There was only one person who that frame and therefore its key belonged with. Gripping it tight in his hand he immediately began to stride after its rightful owner. He was cruising on auto-pilot now. Up to that point he had carefully been considering what he was saying and evidently when he thought things through bad things started to happen. That was quite enough thinking for the day.

He quickly found her again, quickening his pace to close up the distance as he continued to walk behind her. 'Kallen...' he managed to get a tenderly spoken name out, but nothing else followed it, so much for not thinking. Why didn't stuff just come to him like it seemed to do for other people? Especially at times like this he wished that he were more introspective of himself, it might give him more of a clue of how she felt. If he didn't coast on through he might know what to say in this situation, he might be of some use.

Staring at Kallen's back he decided not to say anything. Instead he placed his hands gently on her shoulders, pulling her to a stop before wrapping both arms about her. Pulling her close he repeated. 'Kallen... you don't want this.... to throw this away...' He paused, pulling her close to him. 'You wouldn't be crying if you did... come fly with me-- with us again.

The frame was hers, the key was hers, would always be hers and Gino knew that well enough even if she did not.

Forever Falling

The sound of footsteps echoed through the hallway behind Kallen, but she ignored it, assuming it to be the sound of students in the background. She figured Gino would want to come after her, though she wondered if her giving him the Guren's key had surprised him so much, he was still in a state of shock. She felt she had done the right thing. In her current condition, there was no way she was fit to pilot the Guren. Even if there was no other that could pilot it with her extreme skills, what would be the point of having the Knightmare do absolutely nothing? That wouldn't be fair, she thought, it wouldn't be right. Her hand reached down to where the Guren's key once rested against her chest for so many years. The spot felt so empty and cold in her opinion. It was as if she had lost apart of herself just now, like if apart of her had just died. A false smile soon spread across her face and she let her head drop toward the ground.

"I'm suck a fool. Letting my emotions take over like this. I should be fighting right now. I should be out their protecting my country! Just look at me! I've become so frail and weak! I shouldn't even be thinking any of this over! I should be acting!"

Breaking her concentration were the same footsteps she had earlier perceived, except this time they reverberated throughout the area like a thunderous march of soldiers. A hand was then placed on her shoulder and before long she was pulled closer to someone. Her eyes then widened, as she began to ask why Gino had followed her, why he had bothered to chase after someone in such a feeble state of mind. Her entire body froze up when he grasped her in his arms and pulled her close. Her mind then went as blank as a canvas in the ensuing moments, while she listened to Gino speak. Even after all she had said, he still wanted her to fight with him against the BRL. It didn't make any sense to her. He was almost persistent to a fault. After hearing his words, she moved her head toward the floor once more.

"You know...you can be really annoying sometimes. ...If you want me to fight with you so bad...you'll have to help me get back into shape then. You'll have to help me shake the rust off, after all."

Even while she spoke, she never looked up to Gino, hiding the smile that had spread across her face. A weight had been lifted from her shoulders.

'I'm told that it's my chief speciality, ahead of Knightmare running even.' Gino kept a hold of her as they continued talking, it seemed to have worked so he wasn't going to mess with the formula. Maybe I should spontaneously hug women more often? With Kallen apparently out of her rut Gino's voice and mood had picked up. Still holding the fiery haired woman close to him a mischievous smile spread across his face. He lifted a hand from around her and began to mess up her previously neatly straightened hair, it made her look professional, respectable and Gino didn't like it one bit.

'Oh yeah, you're way out of shape, look at this mess. Anybody'd think you were a career girl or something, hardly befitting of an infamous and deadly Black Knight.' He laughed to himself as he spoke, though he suspected Kallen would not be best amused getting a rise from her was all a part of the fun. His impromptu hug had now more or less turned into a very loose headlock to keep Kallen in place and at his mercy. 'Oh that's much better, wild and flighty like it used to be, all angles and points and whatnot.'

It was nice to have Kallen back on side.
