Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Gino smiled as he pulled in to land, flicking the nose of the transformed Tristan Defender up into the air before moving the joystick back to its horizontal plain as he triggered the transformation sequence. The frame handled better than he had at first imagined it could. Everything wasn't just faster, it was smoother, more responsive. The dev team really had done a bang up job this time around. Setting the frame down he knelt it down and popped the cockpit canopy before unbuckling himself and hopping over the side. As soon as his feet were on the ground he was set upon by someone requesting his signature on some finicky paperwork or other. 'You could have just asked for an autograph you know?' The soldier gave Gino a quizzical glance as he took the signed form back, Gino just kept on smiling as he directed him to his car.

He gave the driver a nod as he jumped in the back and settled himself. Laying a dossier on the seat beside him. 'Your destination, Sir?'

'Ashford Academy, there's someone I need to see there.'

'Yes sir.'

Resting his head in one hand Gino watched the world stream by outside as they made their way from the airport. He idly fingered the Knightmare key tied to his wrist as he watched the pavement beyond the window. People were still going about their lives, not oblivious by any means, but content for the moment. That was nice, that was worth the fighting and everything else it took to get there. 'Oh hey! Pull up real quick!' The driver, quite panicked by the sudden outburst, slammed on the brakes and started glancing around wildly.

'What? What is it, sir?'

Gino, still smiling, gestured out the window with his thumb. 'You want some doughnuts?'

-

With their impromptu 'refuelling' dealt with the Knight of Three returned to the car, licking the bare fingers of his right hand and carrying a folded down paper bag in his left. Laying it on the seat he replaced his glove as they got under way again. They weren't far now from the Academy and the person who had brought him back to Japan. Well, amongst other things. The driver pulled up at the front gate, he'd offered to take him all the way in, but Gino had insisted that it was far enough, he wanted to walk off all that time he'd spent in Tristan's cockpit anyhow. Slinging his cloak around his shoulders he stepped out and began to make his way down through the grounds. He drew a fair few glances. Of course no one here would have remembered him from all those years ago, but whether Britainnian or Japanese everyone recognised the Knight of Three.

He smiled and waved and winked as he walked past students and staff alike. Drawing returned smiles, a fair few fist pumps and even a couple of coy girlish giggles. The Britainnian students were generally more receptive to his greetings, most of the Japanese were not unfriendly, but a few shot him disapproving glances as if he were intruding. Which he supposed he technically was, alumni or not. Guess we still can't all just get along.

He patted the inner breast pocket of his jacket a couple of times to make sure the sealed envelope he had carried from Britannia's shores was still there, he was not in the mood for a round trip. 'Excuse me?' He waltzed over to a group of girls who'd seen him passing, his approach heralding an array of blushed cheeks and sly glances. 'Do any of you lovely young ladies know where I could find Reid Legato?' The disappointment was almost palpable, as if all of them thought he'd come to sweep them off their feet. He had always been of the opinion that sweeping was bad... no... swooping. Swooping was bad. Still, the jilted ladies managed to send him in the right direction at least. As he approached the young man he removed the sealed envelope from within his jacket and waved it above his head. 'Hey! You're Legato, right!' Still some distance away, he had to raise his voice. 'Gino Weinberg! Pleased to meet you!'

Reid turned to see who had greeted him and immediately dropped the book that was in his hand. Standing before him was THE Gino Weinberg, an actual Knight of the Round. In front of him stood one of the top six soldiers in all of Britannia, a rank every soldier in the military wished to obtain. Reid immediately stated "Reid Legato, Soldier class present sir!" As he said this Reid saluted the tall man. Here stood one of Reid's idols right in front of him. Ever since his days at the Military Academy Reid had respected the Knights and wished to be among them. He then waited for Gino to continue his statement.

Accelerating his pace, Gino closed the distance in long graceful strides and immediately threw his arm around Reid as he reached him. 'At ease soldier, you and I are going to get real friendly from here on in so don't go getting all stiff as a board every time I come 'round a corner.' Still with Reid under his arm he placed that same fattened envelope right under the young pilot's name, clearly displaying the wax seal of Empress Nunally vi Britannia. 'I even brought you a present, look.' Gino beamed at him side on as he proceeded. 'All the way from Pendragon courtesy of the Tristan Pan-Pacific express.'

Finally releasing Reid he held the envelope up between his middle and index finger, flashing the seal so the significance might have a chance to sink right in. 'The cabinet's jumping up like frogs on a hotplate over this whole BRL mess and they're afraid that Empress Nunally isn't doing enough to counteract the threat. So I've been commissioned to throw together a special strike team in my capacity as the Knight of Three. This envelope contains orders for any young soldier I might cast my eye on to be posted to the Kururugi Academy so I can get to drilling them into a unit.'

He tucked the envelope back into his jacket after that, still giving off his friendly, almost oblivious smirk. As if he wasn't making the gravest request of duty from such a youngster as Reid. They all had to be about that age though, the decision had been made early that these units (barring the Knights who commanded) needed to come from the younger generation as the old breed simply could not be trusted to not have some tie or sympathy (however tentative) with the BRL. 'So hows about it, Private Legato? You feel like serving your country some?' He was of course well within his rights to refuse, this was more an opportunity as opposed to an outright order, but one that scarcely anyone was likely to pass up on.

Reid took a moment to process everything that he was just hearing. The Britannian Cabinet was putting together a strike force and he was being asked by the Knight of Three to join it. This was such an opportunity that Reid couldn't fathom how he was chosen. Quickly answering Reid responded "It would be my honor sir!" Reid's mind was ablaze with activity, he was being recalled back to Britannia for more training. of course he'd have to leave everyone he'd met behind but the list wasn't very long, not including the people that wanted him dead. Looking back toward Gino, Reid inquired "When do we leave sir? I'd like to say goodbye to someone before I leave here." He then waited for an answer.

Forever Falling

There was no real reason Kallen Kozuki felt like visiting Ashford Academy today. It was just something that had come up spur of the moment, she getting the sudden urge to take a stroll through the institution for old times sake. With a briefcase at hand and wearing her lawyer's outfit of a white blouse under a brown jacket and a tan skirt, she walked through the crowded hallways jam packed with students and decided to head for the Student Council Room. She had had a lot of good memories there with her friends there in particular and with all the stress from work and the BRL, she needed a place to unwind. Adjusting the pair of thin glasses on her head, she remembered that she didn't exactly need them. The only reason she wore them was to make herself look a tad bit more professional, considering her brash attitude. Her hair had been combed down for the same exact reason too. It wasn't her true hair style, though she wasn't trying to hide her real identity by any means.

Sighing, she wasn't sure why she was making a big deal over nothing and turned a corner, nearing her destination. It was then that she began to remember the friends she once occupied these walls with and what they were doing now. Milly Ashford was a big time news reporter that was known all around the world. Rivalz Cardemonde had opened a series of restaurants that served good food and a good time. Nina Einstein was a world renown physicists that worked closely with the Britannian Military in developing new weapons for the country. And the others? Lelouch Lamperouge and Shirley Fenette had died a long time ago and with Suzaku Kururugi secretly devoting his entire existence to Zero, he might as well have been too. She sort of felt all alone now seeing as none of the former Student Council Members would be there to greet her once she got to their old headquarters. At the same time, however, because a few of them had sacrificed their lives for peace, everyone was able to live happy, prosperous lives, herself included. It was something that made her smile.

Kallen turned another corner and stumbled upon Gino Weinberg and a Britannian Student, the two of them talking about something that she couldn't hear because she was so far. Darting back behind a corner, her expression shifted to one of shock and annoyance that she would encounter Gino here of all places. She knew he was still a Knight of the Round and she also had a good feeling that he was just as obnoxious as before. She would have to make it her top priority to sneak past him undetected.

"Jeez! What in the world would make him come here anyway?! ...Then again, I guess I don't really belong here either...but that's beside the point! Just look at that guy..."

She was referring to his rather loud voice as he spoke, it bouncing off the walls and reverberating. Kallen decided to tip toe past him, for her own good, but when she would have been home free down another corridor, she stepped on a crumpled bag of chips, one that was most likely placed there by an inconsiderate student. Growling some, she wondered who she would have to sue to make sure the school stayed clean.

Gino popped Reid a quick thumbs up when he heard his answer, this recruiting thing was a lot easier than he would've expected it to be. Of course the awe factor of having one of the Knights of Rounds turn up on one's doorstep (not literally of course) to call them up had to contribute something. The reality would probably turn out to be much less glamorous, they'd more than likely end up resting on their laurels and other assorted things before being called up out of the blue with no warning or preparation. Gino would just have to train them well enough that they would be always prepared. Gino momentarily turned his, thinking that he had glimpsed someone at the corner on the edge of his peripheral vision, but now that he looked there was no one there. Huh, probably nothing. He turned back in time for the end of Reid's request.

'Hm? Oh sure, we've got time. I can come along if you want? Unless this goodbye's a more -ahem- intimate one.' Again Gino whipped his head around, this time at the sound of something crumpling behind them. Of all the things he might have seen, he was least prepared for that in particular. His eyes snapped wide and he didn't know whether to drop his jaw or bust out a grin, he chose the latter.

He'd crossed the distance between them in one bounding step. 'I don't believe it!' He wrapped his arms right around Kallen's waist, sweeping her up in a big ol' bear hug and spinning her around before depositing her back on her feet. All the time, even after putting her down he continued, lacking anything even resembling an “indoor voice.” 'It's really you! How've ya been!? You working here now or something!? Look at you all prim an' proper, you almost look like a respectable woman! So what's the word, you gonna get back with Zero and throw your lot in against... against...' In his haste to greet the redhead, he'd completely forgotten that Reid was still standing by.

His smile dimmed from one of transcendent glee to one of absolute awkwardness as he rubbed the back of his neck. 'Uh, sorry Reid, this is Kallen Kozuki. She's an old friend. Not an “old” friend, just we knew each other back in the old days that is.' The last thing he needed was for Kallen to plant on on him in front of the new guy for calling her old.

Just as Reid prepared to answer Gino the knight sprang towards a women. She appeared to be a few years earlier and yet Reid felt as though he had seen her around the school before. Putting it out of his mind Reid walked over to the two of them and introduced himself to the woman saying "Hello ma'am. My name is Reid Legato. Pleased to meet you." he then held out his hand for the red-haired woman to shake it. Whoever she was Gino seemed to know her very well, thus making her someone Reid should know.

Well, Kallen could honestly say she wasn't planning for any of this today. Laughing nervously, she screamed some when Gino abruptly lifted her up and twirled her around some. Needless to say, the whole event had caused her to become quite dizzy by the time he put her down. His voice rang in her ears and his signature brand of laughter stung her some, she having no doubt that he was the real thing. It had been a very long time since the two had last seen each other, yet she couldn't help but remember how cheerful and friendly his demeanor was. She hadn't encountered someone like that during her stint with the Black Knights more than ten years ago, so he was a little more than memorable to her. It was someone nice too that he hadn't forgotten about her either. However, she couldn't think of a reason the Knight of the Round would be here of all places. Then again, she felt slightly out of place at Ashford Academy as well. Whatever the reason Gino was here, her expression dropped some when he said that she was an 'old' friend, she wondering if he was trying to take a shot at her age.

"Well, I see you haven't changed much, Mister Knight of Three," she stated with a frown. "And just because I was a Black Knight before doesn't mean I'm going to go back to them. I have my own life to live after all."

The Black Knights. She hadn't had much contact with them since the end of the war with Britannia. She hadn't been the only member to part ways with the group, but she always felt a little guilty inside for not assisting them in fighting of the BRL. They hadn't fought for Japan's freedom for so long just to let another group try and take that away. Bitting her lip, she stared at the ground for a couple of seconds before being interrupted by Gino introducing a Britannian student to her. Reid Legato was the name given to her and she took her hand after he introduced himself.

"You didn't say anything about me to him, did you?" Kallen jokingly asked. Smiling at Reid, she then added, "It's a pleasure to meet you. I don't know how you met up with this guy, but I'd watch yourself if I were you. This guy's trouble!"

Even though this was only the first time they had met, something about this Reid made Kallen think a little. He reminded her of someone, but she couldn't quite think of who exactly. Shrugging, she decided that she was thinking too much and merely continued to shake his hand.

Reid nodded at the woman and replied "Rest assured, my top priority is to ensure the safety, peace, and freedom of the Japanese is protected! I will not let the BRL have their way." For some reason Reid felt as if he had to tell her that, as if something about the woman compelled him to say it. Unsure of what it was Reid merely examined the person he had just met. At second glance the woman seemed to have a mysterious look in her eyes, as if the person she portrayed was not who she really was. Reid thought it best to watch himself around her and instead waited for someone else to speak.
