Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Forever Falling

Wendy Stalingrad found herself on an underground subway heading nowhere. She hadn't bothered to determine where the particular car was headed and she didn't care. Dressed in a black, leather jacket, she crossed her arms while sitting quietly in one of the seats, surrounded on all sides by a mix of Japanese and Britannians on board. Opening an eyelid, she glanced around, noting the passengers being bathed by the light of the train that would be eclipsed whenever the vehicle would pass through another tunnel. They were loligagging, doing nothing in but socialising. Why this annoyed her was slightly vexing, she shifting her legs uncomfortably in the presence of different conversations circulating around the car. Perhaps it was because the Britannians present were disgracing their race by mingling with the Japanese. Maybe it was because the Japanese walking about were a constant reminder of how these 'Elevens' had gained so much freedom in the last ten years. Whatever the case, all she really knew was that everything about the situation was annoying in her opinion. The voices, the screeching of the subway car, everything. Closing her eyes did little to calm her down and she felt like a fish out of water.

She had only boarded the subway in the first place as a means to get away from it all. She had paid her fare like everyone else and now was cruising for as far as the transportation would carry her. Wanting to escape the constant life of a BRL soldier for just one day, she got on board without looking back. She had received little to no new orders regarding her current and she couldn't fathom the thought of having to spend another day living among the nest of Elevens known as the United States of Japan. She felt trapped, unable to decide things for herself. If she went back to the homeland, she would be a laughing stock in the face of her superiors and if she remained where she was, she feared she would go mad and blow her cover anyway. It wasn't as if she was ready to betray the BRL and it's ideals, however, so she figured that her nerves were simply getting the better of her and that if she wanted to be a good, obedient soldier, she would have to stay put. Her eyes wandered back up to everyone else on the train.

"Just look at them. If only they knew what was coming. I seriously doubt they would be so cheerful then."

She was referring to the Britannian Restoration League eventually reclaiming Japan and once again deeming it 'Area 11.' She could only imagine the look on the Elevens faces once more when the order of civilisation was put back in order, they being the lower life form, scum of the earth. Even Wendy had no idea where these feelings of resentment were stemming from, she mirroring a jealous teenager. Perhaps her grandfather was to blame, instilling into her the fact that the Britannian race was the most superior and that they were destined to control the entire world. He had taught her everything she knew in the world, so she found it acceptable that she even took on most of his views without question.

"So, are you going to that concert later today?"

"I dunno! I don't have anything to wear!"

Wendy gazed up at two female Japanese teenagers gossiping about nothing in particular. Even this seemed to work her up to the point a vein appeared on her forehead. They should have even had the freedom to do such things, she thought. They should have been working for the Holy Britannian Empire in some way, mere subjects of the homeland. Putting her head back into her lap, Wendy realised she was becoming stressed and wondered if perhaps she was simply putting too much thought into all of this.

"...If only I had some new orders of some sort..."

Arturus tu Britannia

His vestments might not have been quite so grandiose as he was used to, but he'd been caught in much worse before he had joined the BRL. Such plain threads allowed the wayward prince to blend in quite well amongst the crowded subway. He suspected though that even with a false nose and chin which he currently sported, neither his genuine name nor his assumed alias would go over well with this particular disguise. Seemed like Arturus needed a new nom de costume. He couldn't remember the last time he'd gotten out of uniform, it was nice to see how the other half lived. He hadn't gone for anything too ostentatious, slacks and loafers with a white shirt the sleeves of which he'd rolled up. He adjusted the paper folded under his arm as he watched Wendy from down the carriage.

Arturus had wondered ever since her assignment as to why she had been chosen for infiltration, not only was she transparently Britannian (not a hindrance in and of itself now that the war was over, but something which would likely elicit a fair degree of mistrust) and at that she was a vehement imperialist. A trait shared by many a BRL member to be sure, but none were quite so likely to spit and curse at 'Elevens' like some kind of Benzedrine puff adder. Her frustrations were betrayed even at this distance. Poor girl. She must feel rather turned out into the cold. Surely Christov, who was at least of mixed heritage, would have made a finer candidate. Not only more likely to be accepted, but more likely to be comfortable. He sighed, more and more it appeared the BRL was just what he feared it to be, which boded ill for any Britannian loyalist. Still, they had done right by him... some more than others.

With a huff he began to work his way down the car towards her and lightly slumped into the seat beside her. 'Pardon me ladies,' he said as he passed the two Japanese girls who'd not long before drawn Wendy's attention. He didn't expect that she would recognize him immediately as anyone in the BRL bar one had never seen more than the bottom half of his face, but perhaps by his voice and if he dropped enough hints. Crossing one foot over his knee he laid his newspaper in his lap and turned to Wendy. 'You're not so easy to find. So I trust you have found something to have embarked on such a lengthy trip, or perhaps are looking to find something.'

Forever Falling

Wendy had half near fallen asleep on the long subway ride, partly because the bumping and movement of the car was relaxing to her somewhat, in turn calming her down from her earlier, personal fit of anger. Where the subway was currently located was unknown, but it came to a stop a certain station, a portion of its occupants piling out to be replaced by others. Something about this made Wendy begin to think that that's exactly what her life felt like: nothing more than a revolving door of situations and problems. Take this assignment that the BRL had given her for example. She felt as if it didn't suit her at all. The reason was that she despised Elevens with such a passion that she assumed it would merely give away her true identity. While this exact scenario had never reared it's ugly head, she wondered how long it would be before it did. Putting her head into her arms, she yawned some and figured it wouldn't be much longer before her superiors called her back anyway and that she had best make the best of the situation. As such, she pulled out her cell phone to check the time. It was half past noon now, much to early for anything suspicious from the Black Knights to occur.

"And no new orders yet either. Sheesh! Just what are the boys back home doing anyway? I haven't heard any new skirmishes between the BRL or the Black Knights either." She spoke low enough so no random bystander would here in on her thoughts. "Guess that means nothing has been happening. Even so, I figured the BRL would wanna start up something soon enough. People are beginning to think we're nothing more than a joke after ten years of resistance."

Wendy sat back in her seat nonchalantly, as two more Japanese teens walked past her. It was then someone took the curtsy to sit down next to her. While this in itself wouldn't have been alarming, her eyes widened when he said 'something about her not being easy to find.' Not wanting to draw any attention, Wendy merely glanced at the individual. He wasn't familiar to her at all and she began to wonder if perhaps he had mistaken her for someone else. Then again, not many people should have known about her being in the United States of Japan, so all this was more than a little suspicious.

"Can I help you with something?" she asked, but in a way that really meant if he knew her in some shape or form. While doing so, she shifted one of her legs over the other in an attempt to relax some, seeing as she had no clue who this strange person was. For all she knew, he was a member of the Black Knights or some other organization she had to watch out for. But this explanation made no sense to her either. She was a mere low ranking grunt in the BRL, so she couldn't understand why anyone would even want to pay much interest to her. Judging from the way the individual was dressed so plainly, it made sense that he was no one of significance importance. Despite what her gut was telling her, she just knew that there was something peculiar about him. But what?

Arturus tu Britannia

Arturus tipped his head back, shutting his eyes with a soft huff. Stretching his arm over the back of her seat he drew in close to speak more easily into her ear. 'The sun sets over the forgotten land,' he said softly, the code phrase which identified BRL operatives within the former Area 11, meant to sound like a phrase of poetry. 'The ephemeral warrior finds his way home.' His own phrase, one he had chosen himself which would mark out who he was to anyone who had taken the necessary time to commit a sizeable chunk of code phrases to memory. For most instances the first was identification enough, but Stalingrad was clearly ill at ease. Deep cover will do that, the disguise probably doesn't help.

This did not go unobserved by the people around, which is why the code existed in the first place. 'Aw, he's reciting poetry, that's so cute.' It was all Arturus could do to keep himself from laughing as he drew away, his rm still resting on the seat back, but with his elbow curled so he could rest his head lopsided on his hand as he gave Wendy a friendly smile.

'So, could it really be that you've found nothing and are riding aimlessly around in hopes that a solution would present itself? He tutted, shaking his head a little from side to side as the train slowed again. 'This is our stop,' he said so matter of factly as though it were the absolute truth, in fact he wanted to be away from their original point of contact just on the off chance that they were not entirely alone. Paranoid? Perhaps, but for terrorists and rebels a healthy degree of paranoia was quite... well, healthy. Standing, he latched on to one of the poles scattered through the length of the car to keep his balance and offered Wendy a hand, acting with a degree of familiarity, lacking formality that they might go entirely undetected.

What he had come to talk to her about was of the gravest importance though, something which the success or failure of her mission could very well depend on in the near future. 'Shall we?'

When the strange individual ignored her question and then had the nerve to place his hand over her shoulder as if they were dating, she was about ready to snap. That was until he whispered something specific into her ear, causing her entire body to freeze. What he was telling her was the secret code that BRL members exchanged with one another to identify themselves, or at least that's what she remembered from her training. Shooting the person a look, she could hardly believe that he was a member of the Britannian Restoration League. No doubt he was creating a scene to make it appear as if lovers were exchanging verses of poetry. Though awkward, she nodded and understood that they needed to maintain the utmost amount of caution in order to keep their cover.

The second phrase he whispered to her was familiar, but she couldn't quite put her finger on. From what she could remember from the training given to her regarding the codes the BRL exchanged, she understood whoever this was an important member of the organization and as such she straightened up, not wanting to look sloppy in front of a possible superior officer. She never thought she wound encounter another BRL soldier like this and she was sure she would never meet one in the middle of a Japanese subway line. What did all this mean? Whoever this person was, it was as if they were searching for her in particular or something. The two being on the same subway car just seemed too much to be coincidence. Had she messed up? It was possible this person was sent to keep an eye on her from her bosses back in the homeland, but there was no way for her to be sure other than to ask.

The subway eventually came to a screeching halt, as the person asked the reason she had been riding the subway that day. Too embarrassed to answer, she merely shook her head in a way that suggested she didn't know. Her 'acquaintance' spoke in a manner that she wasn't fond of, a rather 'straight to the point' intonation. Soon after the subway arrived at it's destination, he instructed her that they were leaving, most likely so they could talk at a location where they couldn't possibly be overheard. While the idea made sense to her, she didn't like the idea of walking off with some strange, even if he was a comrade. There was just something about him that made her remain on edge. She stepped outside of the train and into a large crowd of commuters who were ready to take her place on the subway. Once the place emptied, the subway went off toward it's next stop, leaving Wendy and her friend alone to talk.

"Wendy Stalingrad, Private. And you?"

Arturus tu Britannia

{{Fear my wall of dialogue!}}

As they alighted and waited for the platform to clear, Arturus turned to face his comrade, his warm and friendly smile evaporating into a more serious visage. 'Smart enough to not blurt my name and rank out in broad daylight,' was his rather sardonic response to Wendy's question, alone or not it was rare that one was truly unobserved. 'For now, a friend. One who you probably know better like this.' He raised the paper from under his arm to obscure the top portion of his face, giving a coy smile before he lowered it again. 'As you well know I am like yourself not someone of any great importance, but it is my intent to change both those facts by aiding you in completing your mission.' Turning away from her, he began to walk and gestured for her to follow.

'The simplest and most expedient way in which to find the Black Knights would in this case be to become the Black Knights. Or rather, to become Zero. A questionable organization such as theirs who holds no fealty to any nation in particular would be easy to cast suspicions over, Zero cannot tolerate slanderous accusations against his cause perpetrated by an imposter.' Reaching the end of the platform he halted to round on Stalingrad. 'Put simply, Zero's greatest strength is also his greatest weakness. He is a man without a face and so anyone may become him simply by donning his mask.'

'Were “Zero” to announce a terrorist action against the United States of Japan one of two things would have to happen.' He raised his hand, a single finger extended to illustrate his point. 'First and admittedly the least likely, Zero would lose his worldwide support, lest some country or another be chastised for associations and support of a terrorist organisation. While this would be favourable it would neither further your mission nor eliminate Zero as a threat. He is after all a master of doing the most on the battlefield with the least resources backing him up.' Another finger raised as he moved on in his long winded explanation. 'Second and much more favourably, Zero would be forced to assuage their fears by preventing the attack, giving us an exact date, time and location at which to find the Black Knights. What you choose to do with that information is entirely up to you.'

[not a big post but bare with me and I apologize in advance for jumping in unannounced/uninvited]

After the Car reached Peter drop off station he promptly paid the the driver before disembarking off to his usual spot. A little suspicious within the eyes of someone with a military background. He moved in a low profile manner “I need to get to that knightwalker I am working on in the usual abandoned factory around here” he muttered to himself loud enough only to be barely heard. He Slowly Slithered his way to the station stairway. 'Damn it I would hope I ain't gonna get tailed at all' He thought in a content monologue to himself. Which little did he know that's would be when Shit hit the fan for him and fate will screw him over.

Wendy and Arturus would almost immediately get new orders from their Research and development Division and their Intelligence Division. 'Soldier Stalingrad and Soldier Tiberius We have confirmation that a potentially high value target is in you vicinity Intelligence says that a ashford academy student by the name of peter kairos has been making unusually suspicious forwards and backwards trips to a old abandoned factory within the city the used to be used by the britanian military to mass produce Sutherlands. The Science Division doesn't need his abduction as of yet but Intelligence has given you a discretionary order on that one and has said to abduct him at your own discretion. Also We have word that his twin brother is affiliated with the black knights and that peter kairos maybe working on something but we need more intelligence of what it is first. This is a high priority mission and do not tell the commander as he doesn’t know about this. That is all Red team leader out.' With that abrupt transmission over with it would up to the two of them to figure out more intelligence of what peter was working on to demand so much secrecy.

He would ab oblivious to the initial stages of this tailing mission that they were assigned to. And that he may be abducted by the BRL only time would tell. He Casually made his way up the stairs looking around to make sure no one was trying to follow him. Since he can get a little paranoid and protective of his secrets. There maybe someone out there that is overly curious like they say curiosity killed the cat or in this case the terrorist.

OoC: Don't sweat it, Izanagi. It's an open topic after all and I would never stop one of my members from posting in an open topic. :) I put the post order in the topic description, so we'll go from there.

Wendy listened to all that her strange new 'friend' had to say, growling some at her mocking the fact that she had stated her name and rank out loud. She had only said so because she felt that the individual was one of her superiors, but when she found out that he claimed to also be no one of particular, she fell silent, not willing to reveal anything more about herself. He too was taking the same state of mind, not even doing so much as showing him her face. Just what was he tried to hide about himself? And what was he rambling on about? Becoming Zero? Was he actually suggesting that one of them attempt to impersonate the infamous Zero in an attempt to draw him out? There were far more questions than answer and Wendy wasn't really sure what to think any more. Sure, her acquaintance had made some very good points. Even she figured that Zero would want to take some sort of action once he thought his name was being sullied and that would also give the BRL the perfect chance to strike. Without their leader, she also decided that the Black Knights would crumbled like a stack of domino's. They had been nothing before Zero showed up, so it was only logical that they would return to nothingness in his wake.

"An assassination maybe..." She the idealistic man, asking him, "So, let's say that you're willing to go through with this. How would you go about doing it? Would you don the mask, the costume? Would you be willing to take the risk? And what role am I supposed to play. I'm nothing more than a simple grunt in the BRL, inexperienced. I would be nothing more than a hindrance, yet for you to have taken the time to lay everything out like this tells me otherwise."

She stopped her rant upon her radio relaying her a message from the BRL's Research and Development Division. Grabbing her radio, she listened in at what was apparently new orders. Some boy named Peter Kairos had been doing something or another and that he had had a twin brother in the Black Knights. They were also told that if they had spotted him, they were free to capture him at their own discretion. They ended the message with 'Red Team' leader, a name she wasn't familiar with. Putting the radio down, her eyelid moved some in a way that expressed her lack of interest with the news. None of that had anything to do with him and if it wasn't for the fact that her mysterious new friend had gotten the exact same message, she would have simply ignored it. However, she wanted to know what his approach would be, coyly inquiring.

"You know the name Peter Kairos? Are we supposed to find him then?"

Arturus tu Britannia

Arturus watched with a clearly invested interest as Wendy mulled over the details of his propossal and came up with entirely the wrong conclusion. It was as though she had not heard his previous assertions at all. If one were to view the ascendancy of the Black Knight's power structure as a pyramid, with Zero's authority arising from the rank and file that followed him (filtered through some officer commanding or another of course) then obviously removing the cap stone did nothing to affect the overall structure of the organisation. It was the same as removing Charles from the Britannian Empire, all the more infuriating by the fact that a new Zero could simply denounce the death of the former as a lie and assume the mantle proper. As he had said, that was Zero's strength and in the case of mortality it far outstripped his weakness. He did not have chance to voice this opinion as his radio buzzed. He slipped it out of his pocket, a slim device made to look like an MP3, before plugging the headphone into his right ear.

He listened intently in silence before bring the left 'headphone' up in front of his mouth. 'Objective understood,' he stated in the militant, clipped monotone which he always used to broadcast. That said he unplugged the headphone and wound it back around the device before stowing it in his back pocket. He shook his head gently at Wendy's question. 'No such thing. You picked up on it yourself. There is no “Red Team” in the organisation. Though I've heard his name from reports before, yes.' Arturus, having been with the BRL as long as almost anyone else had an intimate knowledge of its command structure, but whoever had sent that message was not a part of it.

He gestured to the platform's stairs which led down to street level, he knew the place, he'd done his homework before touching down in Japan. There were plenty such decommissioned facilities. It was simply more cost effective sometimes to produce armament where its components were mined and where they were to be deployed. He had overseen the construction of such a facility in the south of Area 2 during his days as a Viceroy. First step to evading a trap, spring the trap.

'As for... the other matter. That would not best serve us at this time.' Life was, after all, not that much like chess. If a Pawn could be made to fight on after a checkmate, Arturus would more than likely consider them more dangerous than the Queen by virtue of their numerousness alone. No, to kill the current Zero would open oneself up to instantaneous reprisal. A “counter-checkmate” of sorts. 'Perhaps you are not so small a player as you think, perhaps you and I are King and Queen in the guise of Pawns.' Still thinking in chess terms, he continued to ramble words of encouragement. 'First though, we must send you to the other side of the board, which is why you will not be accompanying me as I search for this “Specter.”'

Wendy didn't say much as her new confidant explained himself further. From the way he spoke, she could ascertain that he was an individual that did so often, which made her even more curious about his identity. On top of that, he knew things that no ordinary BRL grunt would. She was assured of it now; he was someone far more important. But who? She judged that he would never give her a straight answer if she inquired, so she choose to remain quiet. She then wondered what he meant by saying that she was more than a pawn. What could she possibly offer to someone like him? She was a rookie, inexperienced in the ways of battle and she couldn't talk with a pretty ribbon attached to it. Yet this man was claiming that he and her were 'the King and Queen in the guise of Pawns.' There was something about him that made her almost want to believe his words, something that made her begin to think.

As the two walked down a staircase, he soon informed her that she would not be helping him locate this 'Peter Kairos' character, something which made her body stiffen. She had become intrigued with he had informed her that there was no such thing as a 'Red Team', another rookie mistake on her part as she hadn't quite familiarized herself with the BRL's codenames and handles. As such, she had wanted to learn who in the world had taken the time to contact her personally. Gazing at the wall, she was somewhat disappointed that her new acquaintance was leaving her behind. Was there something behind even that action?

"So, what do you want me to do then? Wait here? I really don't get your angle here. Why contact me? Perhaps you've overestimated my skills a bit...or perhaps there's something else your not telling me here."

She wasn't prepared to receive any sort of answer that pertained to her question. That was just the way this sort of individual behaved. It burned her up a little bit, though she figured wagging her tongue about the matter would do little. She crossed her arms, sighed, and closed her eyes, lost in thought. What would her grandfather think of all this? No doubt he would be scolding her for running off with a complete stranger like this. It was still entirely possible that he was a spy of some sort, though Wendy had some serious thoughts about this. For some reason she couldn't explain, she felt compelled to hear this individual out. If he really had some ingenious plan to do something about the Black Knights, she was all ears. Coming up with intricate schemes such as this never really was her thing anyway. She was more of a soldier in that regard, a soldier ready to receive orders. This might have been a weakness or an easy way to manipulate her, but if the end result was the destruction of the Black Knights and the United States of Japan, she was fine with such a thing.

"Well, whatever the case, I think I'll help you out for awhile. You're a pretty interesting fellow, so I'm curious to see what happens here. Just one thing though. What am I supposed to call you?"
