Random Suzaku Kururugi Fact of the Month

Suzaku Kururugi was actually the missing link needed to create the Atomic Bomb. Scientists were baffled on how to fabricate the weapon until Suzaku showed them a Spinzaku in real time. Everything soon became clear to them.

Character of the Month
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad
Wendy Alexis Stalingrad was born to parents of particularly low status in the Holy Britannian Empire. Her mother was a simple chambermaid to the Royal Family and her father was a low ranking soldier in the military. Her father was killed early on when the Black Knights first appeared and her mother was killed soon after when during the Battle of Narita. Sent to live with her grandfather, she spent the better part of her years with him, learning how to be a proud soldier of Britannia. When he too was killed in the line of fire and when the Black Knights finally emerged triumphant, she was left with nothing. As such, she didn't hesitate to join the Britannian Restoration League upon hearing of their creation to get a shot at payback. All she could think of was destroying Zero and 'restoring' her homeland. Now a full fledged member of the BRL, Wendy's specialty is infiltration and espionage and she is often assigned to go undercover in Japan for various reasons. Has a long standing rivalry with Reid Legato, Becca Buchanan, and just about anyone else that gets on her nerves. She is probably well known for her white hot temper and 'shoot first, ask later' disposition.

Standing quietly amongst a few of his men was Zero, leader of the Black Knights. He remained motionless on a rocky cliff outside of the Black Knights base, awaiting the arrival of Raiiel Rayvin, his 0 Division Captain. Through rumors and information told to him by his subordinates, the Britannian Restoration League had apparently attempted to raid a Storage Depot in the city of Narita. This cache held a number of important supplies for the Black Knights, so he found it unsurprising it had been targeted, but was slightly miffed about how the BRL had discovered what it was exactly. Regardless, the men he had stationed there managed to hold him back and he was now thankful he had decided to station the 0 Division Captain there.

"Sir, the Valkyrie and its pilot will be nearing the island soon," a female Black Knight suddenly informed him.

"Secure the perimeter around here and a landing spot for the Knightmare." Zero replied in a tone befitting a leader, but one that also held a hint of sadness, something his soldier quickly picked up on. "Also, watch out for any pursuers from the BRL. They're activity has been rather suspicious of late."

The woman nodded, running of to do as told. Zero has also learned that Raiiel had managed to capture one of the more high ranking BRL members alive and was currently transporting them back to HQ. While this wasn't suspicious, Zero couldn't help but feel something was up, considering his 0 Division Captain was taking her time bringing him all the way back here. The BRL most likely wouldn't sacrifice any of their men in an attack to retrieve this individual, but Zero wanted to be on the safe side. After all, the Britannian Restoration League was unpredictable and fully capable of anything.

"This isn't the world you wanted, Lelouch..." he mumbled to himself.

"Sir, I can see them now! It's the Valkyrie!"

One of Zero's more excitable soldiers pointed off into the sunset, where a Knightmare Frame was indeed steadily making it's way toward the base, it's energy wings visible in the distance. Raiiel had returned faster than he had imagined, further proving that everything in Narita was once again on the up and up. Nevertheless, he had a lot of questions to ask about the situation. Who did she take captive and why? Telling his men, to ready the Valkyrie for a landing, he supposed only time would tell.

"Let's see what we've got then..."

Raiiel silently piloted her Knightmare through the air, headed toward the place where she would usually spend most of her free time, Pengulai Island's Black Knight Headquarters. Without turning around to face her passenger, keeping her eyes on her screen, she asked, "Are you worried?" She wondered what he could be thinking, being captured as a prisoner of war. She had not bound him at all, doubting he had much strength left in him from all the blood loss, so it did not truly seem as if he had been taken as a captive. He had entertained her this much so far, and she was curious what else he might do after all of this was over. She hoped it would provide her with more fun.

On her screen, she saw her destination in the distance. As she grew closer, she noticed some activity on the island, as if they were preparing for her return. Raiiel smiled her sly smile behind her mask, amused that word had spread so quickly to Headquarters. The figures on her screen were becoming recognizable, especially the black figure standing patiently, waiting. Carefully she brought her Knightmare to the cleared area that had been prepared for her and landed.

After she landed and began shutting most of her Knightmare's systems down, she opened the cockpit of her Knightmare and stood up from her seat to look outside curiously. "Oh look, you're here to welcome me back," she said to the waiting Zero below, "I hope you don't mind, but I brought you a present," she added cheerfully. "After you," she said to Takeo as she sat on the edge of the open cockpit to wait for him to get out.

"What's the point in worrying?"

Takeo returned his mask to his face and gripped the cable to reach the ground. When he reached the ground there were Black Knights there to hold him in that location. He wasn't able to fight back, but he could see the precaution on their faces. One reached for his mask and Takeo used what strength he had left to shoulder him giving a scowl that could be seen even from under the mask. There didn't need to be any eye contact for the soldier to notice that it wasn't going to happen. When he looked up Takeo could see their leader Zero waiting patiently. 'So it's you.' Takeo thought as he looked around the area.

For some weird reason it felt more peaceful here than at the BRL headquarters. Did they do something special, or did something else happen. Regardless Takeo didn't speak much after he left the knightmare. He had to just wait to see what they would do with him. His gauze-wrapped wound was a little red from soaking through, but it was not really a threat to his health anymore. The dried blood around his mouth and down the side of his face and neck were marks of how much he had bled in the last few hours. To admit defeat and show that his resistance was only towards the mask he wore, Takeo looked down at the ground constantly thinking about what was going to happen to him. He thought that Lloyd would come sooner or later, but he hoped that it was sooner.

"Miss Rayvin, I see you were quite busy out there," Zero started. "And you even brought me a souvenir."

Zero quickly informed his men to make his 0 Division Captain comfortable for the time being, while he turned his attention momentarily to the individual in her care. His clothing was absolutely soaked with crimson blood, leaving Zero to believe he had gained his wounds in the conflict in Narita. Although quietly, Zero also heard the young man mumbled, "It's you." Not responding to it, Zero was assured such a reaction was solely because the person was standing face to face with him, and not because he knew him personally.

Facing Raiiel again, Zero said, "So, tell me. How did everything go back in Narita? I see you came out in one piece."

Although knowing from the information he gathered what precisely had occurred in the mentioned city, Zero wanted to hear from his subordinates mouth himself about the grisly details, so he could decide how to act accordingly. Waiting for an answer, a timid-seeming member of the Black Knights walked up to him.

"Sir! There are no hostiles detected around the vicinity of the island!"

"Good. Keep a look out just in case and report anything back to me personally."

The soldier bowed and quickly rushed off in a hurry. With that out of the way, Zero figured no one from the BRL was attempting to reclaim their captured compatriot, for the time being anyway. Pengulai Island was heavily guarded on every possible direction, with eyes always glued to its surroundings, so if the BRL was truly bold enough to make an attack on the fortress, they would be met with an untold amount of resistance. Even so, Zero couldn't help but glance at the floor, not seeing the point of any unnecessary bloodshed.

"So, who is our lucky guest, Miss Rayvin? You wouldn't have taken the trouble of bringing him back here if he was no one in particular...but before that."

Snapping his finger, Zero called for a few medics to check on the young man, as Zero had no wish for him to die of blood loss prior to any sort of interrogation.

"What is your name?" the Black Knights leader then firmly asked the individual.

Raiiel looked around carefully, knowing that the transport unit that held her men as well as her weapons would not have arrived by now, she was still wanting to have her gun in her hands again. She could tell that Zero was a little tense about an attack from the enemy, and she wanted to prepare herself too. Sure, her Knightmare was within reach, but she would prefer to have her rifle anyway. It was too long of a trek to her personal quarters that she did not want to take just to grab one of her other sniping rifles. She guessed she would just have to wait patiently for her soldiers to return.

Raiiel got out of her Knightmare, but left the cockpit open, she would have to move it to the hangar later anyway. No one would dare try to pilot it for her, besides, she had the key safely tucked in her cloak pocket. She let her hood fall back to reveal her purple tinted hair tied back with a leather string, but kept her mask on. She untied her hair and let the breeze ruffle it as she looked at her leader almost innocently.

"Would you expect anything less of me?" she wondered, "Nothing I couldn't handle," the smirk on her lips could be heard in her voice. Sure, she seemed a little cocky, overconfident, but she had the skill to back herself up, as well as her ability to keep a cool head no matter the situation. Watching the reaction others around her had to the same situation amused her, more amusing were the reactions she got from others when they see her own reaction, or lack-there-of. It seemed as if the only emotion she was capable of was that of amusement. No one had ever seen her actually "happy" or sad in any way, maybe disappointed, but it was quickly replaced with her sly smile as she would get a new idea in her head that would provide entertainment for her. It was also hard for anyone to tell what she was thinking. Raiiel seemed to have a limitless supply of patience as well, rarely ever getting frustrated or angry. There are a few people who had seen her angry, though, and it was not an experience to be repeated, especially if she was within reach of a weapon.

"We set up a trap and the bait was taken. We lost a few new recruits, but I didn't see them lasting too long, anyway," she reported happily, as if death was something fun to talk about, "There were minimal injuries, though." She was aware that her leader already knew what had happened in Narita, but she compliantly told him what she had seen through the scope of her rifle. She left out the call she had received from Nik and how exactly it was that she had found him, and also neglecting to describe the conversation she had had with him. Raiiel did not see how that information would be relevant to her leader, anyway. It was just between her and Nik. Of course, she would use her fun little mind games to avoid talking about it as well.

"Pilot #2337: 'Holy Angel' Nikarov Christov......Takeo."

Takeo shuddered at his name, but it was who he was. Even the BRL knew what his name was, that was why they called him 'Holy Angel.' That would keep his soldiers from questioning him as a Britannian. So now Zero knew his full name, and so did Rai. He was revealed as a Half-Blood. Takeo looked away, and said nothing more. He was captured and he knew his role to fill. BRL training made him keep everything but his name and pilot number from the enemy. Rai knew a little more, but she didn't know anything majorly important about the BRL.

In the distance there was a ship just out of range that was coming up slowly. It held the mark of the Democratic Britannia, and on this ship was an old friend. They were broadcasting a signal that would prevent the Black Knights from attacking them. After all an old acquaintance was on board and he didn't want to be shot at just yet. He was there for Takeo, but more importantly to meet the man who had slain Emperor Lelouch personally.

Takeo's mask allowed him to look at Zero without lifting his head. No one would be able to see his eyes look up at Zero, but somehow Takeo thought that Zero might be able to see him looking. The enemy of the BRL was here in front of him, and he was too weak to do anything. The Black Knight Medics took Takeo on a stretcher giving him a small injection of painkillers while he was on his way to be treated. So many things rushed through Takeo's head, but the most important one was how would they interrogate him?

OoC: Meh, would have posted sooner, but 'Operation Get Home Internet' was a complete failure, so back to the library I go...

In contempt, Zero gazed on while his medics carried his 'guest' off to the sick bay. Even if this Nikarov Christov Takeo was a member of the BRL, the leader of the Black Knights had no wish for him to die from his injuries. It was true, Zero was ready to interrogate him for vital information pertaining to his enemies, but at the same time, he decided making his prisoner feel slightly welcomed, and not some sort of tool. There was no denying, however, how big of a find this may have been for his 0 Division Captain. A hunch was telling Zero this Takeo was no ordinary member of the Britannian Restoration League, but someone who could fill him in the group's biggest secrets and plans. Of course, Zero was also aware that Takeo was most likely trained to remain silent and deal with any sort of interrogation.

"Sir! A Britannian transport ship is asking for clearance to land! What should we tell them?"

Lost in thought, Zero had barely heard an eager attendant informing him of this. He gazed off into the horizon to see the object in question, steadily hovering over Pengulai Island. Without the proper clearance, it stood the chance of being shot down, so the Black Knight needed to confer with Zero prior to doing anything. Zero paused, unsure of why a Britannian vessel has strayed so far out of the homeland and wondered if this was merely a trap by the BRL. On the other hand, he wasn't sure they would be so daring as to pull this over on him, especially with a lone ship. No, chances were, the people on board the vessel were being truthful in claiming they were simply a transport ship. As such, Zero permitted it to land, but still couldn't help but ponder over what it could possibly want.

"Make sure the vessel is searched throughly when it touches down...and please accommodate our prisoner. Make sure he is comfortable."

The soldier saluted his leader and replied, "Yes, sir!"

Next, Zero had to talk with Raiiel Rayvin about the losses in Narita.

"So, we lost a few recruits? That's a shame..."

And Zero meant that from the bottom of his heart. The ones assigned to Narita had been there for training and it was the last place Zero thought they would be thrust into the heat of battle so soon. He was thankful Raiiel was there to save a few, but he mourned the loss of the others, who's optimism and easy going attitudes were less than fit for war, but were quite calming for the Black Knight's leader. Now, he was going to have to write a letter to the families of those who had perished in the name of peace. Such meaningless bloodshed was the reason he thought his Black Knights existed, the BRL trouncing on that very thing.

"Miss Rayvin, how did the BRL act in Narita? Was there anything alarming you may have forgotten to report?"

While Zero was preoccupied with news of a nearby vessel, the transport unit that carried her soldiers had finally arrived. The senior soldier who she had given her rifle to bring back took a moment to search for Raiiel. Once he spotted her, he quickened his pace to get to her side and offered her her gun and ammo bag back. "Thank you," she said to him cheerfully as she shouldered her ammo bag and seemingly cradled her rifle. He bowed respectfully then quickly saluted, almost forgetting himself. Raiiel waved him away, still smiling behind her mask, and he hurried away to re-coordinate the units that had accompanied Raiiel to Narita.

She was glad to have her rifle in her hands once again. Even if she was "safe" on the Island, she knew Zero was still a bit antsy about pursuers after her newly acquired captive, and of course she would want to be prepared for anything. Sure, she had a pistol concealed in her cloak, but the weight of it in her hands never felt as comfortable as her rifle, even if her aim had the same, almost perfect accuracy with a pistol than it did with a rifle.

Raiiel then sat down on the ground, not caring if she got dirty or not - she was a sniper, after all, and would often find that she rarely had a choice of how clean her vantage points would be - and began taking apart her rifle. From a separate pocket in her ammo bag, she extracted some cleaning supplies and began to meticulously clean her rifle as she replied to her leader in an almost absentminded way, seemingly more focused on her gun.

"Anything alarming?" she thought for a moment, going over the scene in her mind as she slowly reassembled her rifle. "Nothing that you need to know," she said finally, reloading her rifle with a new magazine and getting to her feet. With a steady hand, she lifted her gun into her arms, staring through the scope to look out into the distance, making sure everything felt just right, just in case she had put something back wrong. There was nothing to aim at, really, but she focused her attention through her scope as if there was, even holding her breath for a few seconds. Everything felt just perfect so she lowered her gun's muzzle to point toward the ground as she looked out into the distance at the approaching vessel. Her rifle was as good as new now, and ready for the next target to fall into it's cross-hairs.

The ship hovered over Zero's location, and a voice came over the intercom that Zero should almost instantly recognize. The sound of the man inside was of one eager to get his devicer back, as well as meet the man who killed Lelouch. It wouldn't be hard to know who it was, but the voice was more interested in Zero and not the Black Knights themselves.

"Hello everyone! Zero I can't wait to speak with you, and you Black Knights seem to be keeping busy!"

Takeo could even hear his voice from inside the med bay. As the doctors began patching him up Takeo had to lightly laugh at the silliness that had just ensued. Lloyd Asplund was overstretching his bounds, and it was very obvious that he was not there to make just idle chit-chat. No he was there for a full out conversation with just about anyone that would listen to him, and if they didn't he would corner them and ramble like always.

"He's at it again. Damn you Lloyd. Why is it you can make me laugh?"

The ship landed and Lloyd came walking out his hands in his pockets as usual, and he walked straight up to Zero leaning in examining the cloak the outfit and even the mask. He couldn't help but smile his sly smile because all this was just so interesting to him. To think that Earl Lloyd Asplund would actually visit Zero and over a normal soldier no doubt.

"Zero, If I may, I would like a word with you...alone. There are important issues I want to discuss."

Lloyd Asplund, the leader of Britannian's Camelot Knightmare Development Team and a peculiar man of sorts. Lloyd probably didn't realize it, but Zero was more acquainted with him than he would have ever imagined, chuckling under his mask. It had been some time since Suzaku Kururugi has laid eyes on the individual and was happy to see how well they were doing. Their cheerful attitude was still there and Zero could even sense a hint of sarcasm in the researcher's tone. It reminded him of his former life, of his former persona.

"You're Lloyd Asplund, correct?" asked Zero, attempting to feign ignorance. "Welcome to Pengulai Island, but I have to ask you, what business could you possibly want to discuss with someone like me?"

How long had it been since Suzaku was last working under Lloyd as the Lancelot's 'devicer', a term coined by Lloyd himself. All sorts of memories flooded through his mind just then about the subject, he recalling that perhaps everything that had happened to him had begun the moment the Lancelot was his to command. Suzaku had no regrets, however, nor held any ill will toward Mister Asplund. If given the chance, he would do it all over again.

"I take it this has something to do with our 'guest', right? Fine. Let's head to my quarters then," Zero stated to Lloyd, next turning to Raiiel. "Miss Rayvin, I hate to trouble you anymore after everything that's happened today, but would you mind securing this island. I know I already told the others to do so, but I'd feel a lot better if my 0 Division Captain was on the job as well."

Zero felt uneasy out of the blue, as if something was about to occur there at Base ZERO. Shaking his head, he decided he was merely overreacting to Lloyd's surprise appearance. Nevertheless, he just couldn't shake the feeling his Black Knights wouldn't be able to rest at all for the day. He wanted for Raiiel's response before he headed off to chat with Mister Asplund.

OoC: Epic foreshadowing, perhaps?
