Rules & Calendar Overview The Lotus 2-Eleven Trophy is the next Spec event in line, hoping to produce even more exciting racing, following in the footsteps of the Dodge Ram Cup. This championship will have tracks that are slightly longer in comparison to the previous event, encouraging free-flowing racing. In addition, the races will last inbetween 15-to-20 minutes, providing only more action for the fans. The event schedule also hands debut races to Sedona Raceway Park, and Laguna Seca. OMRL reserves the right to change any information on this page, such as correcting spelling mistakes, or adding new rules onto the page, without notifying participants. Car List The car class for this event is C. Only one car is eligible in this tournament, which is the following: * * 2009 Lotus 2-Eleven - S678. If you do not yet have the spec tune for the car, please contact a race official. Schedule The tournament will consist of six races, with one race per week on a Sunday. Qualifying will occur straight before the race, where drivers only have four laps to qualify (one at Le Mans, Old Mulsanne). Qualifying for all races begin at 8pm GMT / 3pm EST on the dates listed. Races will occur approximately 30 minutes later after results have been analysed by the race officials and drivers have been sorted into their new lobbies. Please show up on time so as not to delay the other racers. Week 1: Silverstone, International Circuit Race: Sun. 14 Feb. This race has been moved because of the addition of the 1.2 Hours of Sebring Endurance event to the calendar. Points Points will be given to drivers for their performances in only the race itself. Drivers who retire due to damage as well as drivers who lag-out of the lobby will get the lowest amount of points from their lobby. Point schedule TBD Points for the team championship will be earned by the top two point-earning drivers from each team. Drivers Grid A maximum of sixteen [16] drivers will be allowed entry into the tournament. This will be two lobbies of eight. OMRL tournament signups operate on a first-come, first-serve basis; so if all the driver slots are taken up, it's tough luck. Each OMRL team can enter up to three drivers for the Team Championship. If the team wishes to field more than three drivers, then the team will have to split into two teams for the purposes of the Lotus 2-Eleven Spec Series. The new team will have to use a unique livery and can use the same or different vehicle from that of the first team. To register your driver number click here, and to register your team required to enter this event click <here>. Incidents / Contact In racing, contact with other drivers is inevitable. Please take extra caution around other drivers, especially at the start. When behind another driver EXPECT to brake earlier than usual so as not to hit them. Remember, the race cannot be won on the first few corners, but it can easily be lost. Below of examples of what you can and can't do: Allowed: * * Side-on rubbing/close-contact racing between you and an opponent. * Braking on the inside of an opponent, making contact in an attempt to overtake. * Accidentally hitting an opponent that unsafely comes back onto the track from their own mistake. Disallowed: * * Pit manoeuvres that intentionally spin an opponent round the opposite direction/into a wall/into another driver. * Brake-testing with the intention of either speed-boosts/causing damage to an opposition car. * Aggressive shunting/bumping that will knock an opponent of the track. * Knocking opponents off-course deliberately at the start of a race. A red flag (restart) will occur when three or more drivers take serious damage in the same incident, in the first two laps of the race. Race officials will hand out punishments/points penalties for intentionally hitting other drivers on purpose, making ill-advised manoevers causing an accident, and other offences. This can affect your status on and off the track. With collisions on during the race, all drivers on the track are expected to be/act professional on the track in any lobbies. Race flags apply [yellow, green, black, blue, red] |
