What r ur thoughts on a two speed gearbox with a brushless motor is it poinless or would it make it go faster but still be able to crawl when needed

So nobody has any thoughts on this im asking if a 2speed transmission would be worth it running a 7700kv brushless aystem my theroy is since the 7700 has less torque the two speed would help cauae the low gear in the tranny would bring back some of the torque but then when it hit second it would take advantage of the top end of the motor being that thats around 90000rpms

I haven't run a 2 speed, but I have run:
4000kv 4 pole on 3s
4500kv 2 pole on 3s
6000kv sensored 2 pole on 3s.

They are all fun. Anything sensored will have better crawling that anything non sensored.

When u ran the 6000kv was there a lot of kind lag waiting for it to hit the power band cause of the lack of torque cause its a speed motor?
Has anyone ever ran a 1/8 scale brushless set up?

It had a 'turbo spool' feel to it. The tracks wouldn't spin, and it wouldn't flip over backwards.

With the 4000kv 4 pole it flips and spins the tracks, but is hard to crawl with.

A 1/8 motor won't fit unless you make a custom motor plate.

IMO the best 'fast' setup would be a 3.5 or 4.5(5000kvish) 550 sized motor.

I have al kinds of motor set up i have these castle motors 1410 3800kv 1406 4600kv 5700kv 7700kv cm36 9000kv lol i dont have a 2s lipo or id try the 7700 or 9000 but i dont see why u cant run a 3s lipo on a 7700 itsays on the can 100000max rpms is u run a fully charged 3s lipo thats 12.6volt that would mean the 7700 would spin at 97020 which would still be under 100000rpms
have u ever thought about running one to one gearing on the chains drives to would that make it so the differentail would control the speed vers the gear ratio on the chain drives

I think Castle mean its not recommended to use 3s on a 7700kv motor. You can ofc do it. Just watch the temp on motor and esc :)
