SR 540 motor conversion kit

This is a 540 motor conversion kit for the SR chassis. A direct bolt in, with no modifications required. Works with the stock SR axles, drive pins and stop clamps. It clears the stock plow pivot assembly.

The shafts ride in 5mm x 8mm bearings (2 per side) in the center section and hubs. A few minor modifications are made to the stock center chassis, which is also included.

The kit will work with either 540 brushed motors w/1/8” shaft, or 540 brushless motors with a 5mm shaft. The motor gear comes stock with a 5mm hole, I include a reduction sleeve with a 1/8” hole for brushed motors.

Motor choices are open. I use Integy Pro-lathe 85T brushed motors with the Sabertooth 2x12 esc. Or, Exceed Rocket 600kv outrunner brushless motors (#3020) with 2- 35A esc’s. The Turnigy 4000 mah, 3S lipo battery fits nicely behind the motors and clears the pivot servo.

The kit includes everything in the 1st photo, as well as the 4 bearings (installed), hardware, and instructions. The one in the photo is the one I’m selling.
The other photos are for reference.

Price is $240.00 U.S. + shipping & paypal fee. Shipping is through USPS Priority medium box.

Wow! This is an amazing kit. This is how Kyosho should have done it in the first place...

Good day all

Just to tell you that I installed the transmission kit in my SR and it is an awsome improvement. :giggity:

Traction and control is amazing with lots of torque compare to my 380s.

Thanks Gumbajv :nice: :nice: :nice:

I'll make a couple of kits up, but it will be 3-4 weeks before they're ready. Thanks for the interest.

How much and would it be the complete set-up minus motors? Would definitely be interested to lose the factory gear box.

Yes, I knew that. I should have put it "other than the motors will a new run include all the same parts and do you think the costs will have changed".

Believe me, this kit is worth every penny.

I just love it.

I’m just back from a long session with my Blizzard with the Gumbajv kit in it.

With the kit the plowing and control is hundreds time better.

I bought that kit last year and nothing broke just got to keep the gears inside well lube.

Thanks Gumbajv for this. :chug:
