Ok, so I purchased a new St and drove it a few times before the ESC quit. Owelll, so I ordered a 2x12. It showed up today and I went for the install. I hook the battery up, and then one motor and the other. I want to use my Spectrum dx4r. I want my plow to be on a three postion switch. I used my 4s receiver witch has a throttle port, steering port and two aux spots. I plugged in the fwd lead into throttle and the other from the sabor into the steering port. With all this said, all I get is left side track. It moves with the throttle and with the wheel. But I get nothing from the other track. I unplug the motor and plug in the other and the other one works. I can't get both tracks at the same time. I got to image it has to do with the mixing but can't figure it out. Any ideas??? |

You'll want to make sure you are not using any mixing on your TX, the ST will handle the mixing if you have the dip switches set properly. Also check your dip switches, usually you run the ST with all on except 2 & 3.

So on is up on the ST correct? And the two plugs marked Fwd and Turn plug into what ports on my receiver? |

Yes if you are looking at the ST with the motor connections on the left. I plug FWD into CH1 and TURN into CH2 on my RX, I can't say for sure of the ports on your spectrum RX as I use futaba RX and I know some traxxas RX have multiple ports for the same channel. |

Ok, I'll just have to keep farting with it. I'm getting frustrate with it as is. Going out of town for a little R and R so I'll look at again on Saturday when I get back. Thanks for trying to help a rookie. |

Problem solved. I had a bad Deans connector on one of my motors. After doing so looking I may have over heated the positive lead and melted the plastic around the lead. Slipped in a new dean and Bingo! Thanks guys. |

I started running mine with 2 on as well. The exponential mode actually works really well, I find my newly modded Titan Blizzard to be much smoother now. All preference I guess. |

I'm new to this forum but this thread hits right on a subject I'm interested in. I want to install a sabertooth so I can use my pistol radio (traxxas) to run my blizzard. I do have a question. Based on the setup described here how does it behave? For example, if you don't pull the trigger what happens when you turn the wheel? Nothing because the wheel / trigger mixing just reduces power in which ever direction you want to turn as you apply throttle? In other words can you get opposite directions on the tracks using a pistol radio? By the way, which version of the 2x12 sabertooth are people using? Seems there is one with heatsinks on the side ($80) and another without those heatsinks the says it is for rc ($65). Edited by jebster, Sep 12 2015, 10:09 AM.

Almost Jeb, if you are not pulling the throttle and turn the wheel the saber tooth will accelerate the opposite track to turn the vehicle in the wheel turn direction. You want the 2x12 r/c version https://www.dimensionengineering.com/products/sabertooth2x12rc |

OK. Thanks for the info. So, its biased to power forward when running? What I mean is turning the wheel adjusts forward power depending on which way you turn. You could push the throttle into reverse and if you steer to the left the right track would go from moving in reverse (throttle control) to moving forward as you increase steering? |

Yes you can actually spin in place with the sabertooth (full fwd one track full rev other) |
