My blizzard has an 'excess of power'... The motor mount bends and strips the spur gear... Has anyone tried a 32p spur gear on the ev? This one looks like a good candidate... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXLP1&P=7 |

40k is normal for fun toys... I miss my emaxx with a pair of novak 4.5HVs on 4s. 5000kvx14.8v=75,000rpm. I had it geared for ~110mph, That was a fun truck, I should have never sold it. I've had 1/10 motors over 100k before... The mamba 9000kv was a hoot on 3s in a jato, it was geared for 130mph and would melt the gears out of the transmission before I reached full throttle. |

The rooster tails are fun... But it's funner to jump it up in the air(curb/etc), back spin the motor and do a front flip |

is it possible the motor plate is already bent? I also have some 48p pinions where the teeth are very sharp, usually the fewer the teeth the sharper the teeth are is what I've noticed with the pinons I have. Maybe try a large pinion. Set your pinion/spur mesh with newspaper? Edited by FrozenRC, Nov 3 2013, 05:10 PM.

Belt drives have been done before... They aren't durable enough to withstand abuse, or dirt, or rocks, or... |
