Hey guys most of you would have seem my other thread, I thought i should do a proper build thread! So far the specs are: Full ball bearings DX Tracks Full stainless hardware Traxxas 12t titan 550 Traxxas xl5 Flysky reciever Hitec hs303 servo ![]() ![]() Yesterday I began my first real mod, I moved the steering servo up front, and changed it to a mighty mini Hitec Hs225bb. Instead of butchering up the stock chassis plate (which already looks like swiss cheese) I decided to make my own! I picked up an offcut of 3mm aluminium plate, traced the old on onto it and cut it out with a jigsaw. I think it turned out pretty damn good! especially for $6 in materials! Here's a pic ![]() With the new smaller servo mount ![]() All reassembled ![]() ![]() Now I want to polish the plate and hide all the electrics underneath, and cut out a new skid plate. So far the jump from 2mm to 3mm had added 80 grams plus it will be a bit more with the skid. I think it has always needed weight anyway, I don't get snow so more weight means more traction! |
