Here's what I came up with for my SR-to-DF front steer project. I raised the servo up with spacers to clear the tub, bent the brake arms up slightly for better pull angle and made a home for the battery. The goal was to use the stock SR body with DF guts and a full-sized lipo. The 2 threaded posts on either side of the motor are to hopefully re-use the stock inner cover.

Hey great job and it is looking familar to me! Mine looks very similar. I will take pics of my setup. I did a more drastic cut in the back and tried to lower the back half of the plate. It kind of works but my stupid lipo has wires coming out in the worst area. I will have to find a better battery soon. :)

Cool thread we have going here. :)

I think it's a great idea, I ordered the same servo but have decided to use an HS 81 we'll see how long it lives. I'll have some pic's up later.
The HS-81 sevrvo died first battery. 5" of powder killed it, all was good until the deep snow came.

Did you even try to waterproof the servo? or was it killed from stress?? :)

It wasn't a new servo, had been used on the tail of my 450 trex. I'm a rooke when it comes to how these thing react to the variable snow conditions. with 5'' of day old snow if you were in the sun it would take much longer to turn than in the shade with the lite powder. I would have to hold the steering fulllock for to long to get it to steer. To much for that sevo.

Can you adjust EPA with your radio? I set my EPA on the servo to about 50% left & right. If I need more brake I will increase that to 55% and higher if needed. I love the adjustable EPAs on my Futaba 3PM-X radio.

What are you using for brakes? Standard pads or aftermarket disc or?

I'm using the black fiberglass discs I found at A main hobbies Tecno RC for a 1/8 scale buggy. I posted in the Brakes thread #34. I set the end points in the usual way, turn the steering to lock back off the servo EPA's untill it stops buzzing.

I was thinking that maybe making the arms longer at the brake would give the sevo an advantage in leverage. Like the pic of the carbon one in post#1.

I did this mod today... But a little different from everyone else.

I'm using a standard servo.
Links are on top of the horn.
Pusher setup, otherwise the links bind.
