Yep. That's a great way to clear off the rear deck area for plenty if room for almost any battery, plus receiver and ESC. Just take your measurements from one of the existing servo holes, for a pattern. |

Tim I am very nervous about hacking my minty mint newly aquired DF pieces from Reaper!! I might have to buy another stock plate just to have as a spare!! There goes my OCD again....lol. Oh and I guess for this mod you need the EV brake parts? Edited by ZippoMan, Feb 1 2013, 03:16 PM.

You will need the stock EV brake parts. Why do you need 2 top plates? Just draw it on with pencil exactly how it should be. Cut proud of the line, and use a file to "sneak up" on the line. Use servo to keep test fitting. Baby steps, Zippo!

Guys what do you think of this Micro servo for the steering? It offers about 60oz./in. torque. I think it would fit nicely. Any thought on servos?? Help! I need to get two, one for Oilcanman and myself. These are fairly cheap $35 or so. ![]() http://www.hitecrcd.com/products/servos/digital/digital-micro-mini/hs-5085mg.html More specs on it here: http://www.servocity.com/html/hs-5085mg_servo.html I like the idea of how small it is and torque should be great for steering??

I'm always a proponent of buying Canadian when possible. Not much more and you should have within a week. http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=HITHS5085S |

I am a cheap bugger...so any savings is what I am all about...lol. I bought servos from the place I linked on ebay before and they were great. I know supporting Canadian business is good but you know with the internet it seems we all want a bargain. The Canadian place is like $11 more plus shipping is who knows what. I paid $7.95USD for the two servos shipped from ebay! I just did a calculation: Canada place Total $118.64CAD I guess Ebay: Total $78.43CAD So a savings of $40.21CAD Edited by ZippoMan, Feb 2 2013, 03:46 PM.

Okay I got the Hitec HS-5085MG servos in the mail today. Now comes the fun part of mounting correctly. I have to mount the servo side ways like in the photos so it will be a little to one side in the end. I am not sure how far forward it should be mounted. I guess I just have to draw out the profile hole so I can see what works best?? This should be fun...lol. Wish me luck and hopefully on the weekend I can get it done. |

Hey ZippoMan, aren't those mini servo's?? Sorry, just checked your link. Make sure your end points are set properly, that's a tiny little motor in there.

Okay so I am trying to get my hard case lipo mounted in the back. I cut the top plate in half, I would say. Pretty much right behind the spur gear I went straight across using a hack saw...yeah it looks crude...lol. I just have to figure out the back half mounting spots. I am thinking of using the old SR servo mounts for part of the supports in the front half of the new plate...then trying to locate and drill new holes for the plastic cross piece that was still attached to the rear part of the new plate. Make any sense? I know pictures might but not tonight..lol. I am done!! Anyone think this is bad? It is like a drop bed in the rear half....I think it might be about 10mm lower which makes a huge difference for the lipo pack. My lipo will be mounted more to the left rear side, I can't have it in the middle because then my BR-XL and Rx won't fit. FUN!!
