Thanks NightWolf!! I really want to do up the DF-300 body. I have so no plans on lights as of yet. We will see what happens. I am already switching to the Wraith mods and getting it ready for Spring.

Okay so I got a Speedgem 15T motor yesterday in the mail!! It is a brushed motor similar to the one that was in the DF-300 to start. I put a 19T pinion on the motor and wow I am thinking it will be fast enough now!! I am happy because I had no idea what the difference from 19T to 15T brushed motors would be. I just hope this combo will hold up and not fry out! I have no snow to play in but I had to mount the motor because it arrived and I was bored between Wraiths and the Blizzards. http://www.liquidrc.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=75978 Edited by ZippoMan, Mar 8 2013, 05:25 PM.

So, Zippo, is your SR now fully converted to a single motor blizzard (ev/DF-300)? You must have had some snow to give it a try...? |

The one Blizzard is fully DF-300 minus body work. I have had no ambition to even finish the DF-300 body. I have too many RCs I guess and have been very lazy. I am working on an Axial Jeep Wrangler right now for my girlfriend. It is too cold to be painting now....I have no heated areas I can spray paint in.....sucks. Oh well I have my SR ready to play with when we get enough snow. We just got a tiny amount today and this is teh first real snow of the season. :Beart: Edited by ZippoMan, Nov 16 2013, 01:45 PM.

Well, it's nice that the SR body and the DF-300 body use the same mounts, so you can just use whichever Blizzard you want, just the same body... |

Hey zippoman, I just got a sr and would like to do this conversion. What drive axle are you using? With the break on either side? |

That is a DF-300 differential. It is the simplest way to convert. I just bought lots of DF-300 parts. Actually this project has been sitting in my closet since I finished the conversion. I have not even painted the DF-300 body I bought for it. Too lazy and really am not into the DF anymore! I like my SR way better. This will be a closet dweller for now!! LOL |
