I wanted to start a new thread just for my progress...pics and videos might come later.

I got my parts from Reaper yesterday. I did need to find a bunch of screws but luckily I have a few Hexcrews leftovers and I just bought a Harley edition screw kit from Harley on RCCrawler.com. Awesome deal there...600 screws, 100 M3 washers and 100 M3 lock nuts....total of 800 bits for under $40.00USD shipped to me. :)

So after getting all the screws I assembled according to the DF-300 EV and GP manuals. They are handy if you are using the GP brake mod....well looking at Reaper and Tim's photos helped a little too.

I use a Hitec 645MG servo with a plastic double arm horn that came with my other Hitec 7954SH. I needed to find a 2.6mx8mm screw for the horn...which luckily in the Hexscrews leftovers there was one or two. :)

I am using the Traxxas XL-5 ESC for now and the 19T brushed motor Reaper threw in with the parts.

I replaced the stock 16T pinion with a 20T pinion stolen from my Axial Wraith leftovers...or spares....whatever!!

The speed is much better now with 20T pinion and the 86T spur! I plan on finding a different pinion still. The DF has tons of adjustability so we will see.

I have been working many hours on this because I have OCD and my mind is never at rest if something isn't done the way I think should be....crazy yes!! LOL.

I bought some spare parts from 2 Wheel Hobbies! I wanted the stock DF bottom plate so I bought it, heck $3.99 who could pass that up. Sad thing is I need a bag of $15 parts now to mount the thing....hahaha. Then I will get my springs for the brakes too I guess. It is called linkage set FD65 I believe.

Glad to hear this SR to DF300 conversion. Didnt know you can do such a thing. I have a DF300 myself that has not seen ground but with this I might just switch the SR to a DF300. How much work and parts are involved?

Reaper just posted the parts. It is pretty easy once you have all the right parts and lots of extra screws. :)

Being mechanically inclined helps too. I was a little baffled at first but found it best to have one side of the Blizzard off at a time to add the brakes. There is no way you can add those parts with the side still attached to the SR frame.

If I was ambitious I would have taken photos of my conversion...ooops!!

My conversion project is 99.9 percent done also. It really helped having an original DF-300 to learn from when I did the diff mod and added bearings. Still waiting on a new body so I can run the battery in the stock DF location. With a Sidewinder 5700kV system onboard, this thing should fly!

Okay so today I was looking and didn't like how the XL-5 stuck up a mile in the air...so I installed the BR-XL. Waaay better! I have a 3S 900mah battery I won in a contest to try the set up out and all I can say is give me a new 3S battery and this thing should fly fast enough for me. I also put the 23T pinion from Oilcanman's DF-300 on mine.

We have to buy more parts soon.....battery, pinions maybe some screws....list goes on and on. I have to completely rebuild Oilcanman's DF-300. It sadly is pretty much stock EV.

It's amazing how much more speed/power you gain my jumping up a cell, isn't it? When I plug my 2S in to my Wraith, it slowly chugs along, but in 4S it will flip over backwards...

Yeah I was totally shocked at the jump in power!! I guess going from 7.4V to 11.1V is big. I actually see lots of sparks flying in the end bell of the 540 motor....maybe I should go back to 2S until I get a new motor...hehehe.

I love the BR-XL waterproof version!! It has no on/off switch which is awesome!! I thought it did, shows you how much I pay attention to stuff I have had laying around for a while. :D Money just sitting there....lol. Oh well I knew I bought it for a reason!! "The Future" :P

I have not only piles if parts, but RC's as well, waiting around for "someday".

I can't say no to a part that is going to be discontinued. :HandsomeTim:

The next thing I need to do is a motor upgrade and new lipo of my own. I borrowed Oilcanman's for the build.

I plan on doing his DF-300 soon. His will be a full gut and clean!! I bought bearings for his too. More fun to come!!
