I think there is a fairly easy solution to putting the battery in the back of the DF, I have been doing it on mine for some time and think it can be redone even easier. |

Well, when Chris made his dual motor DF-300 Blizzard, he made a top plate as well, which I am guessing he will do if he re-releases the dual motor plate. In his plate, he moved the steering servo to the front of the chassis. With this layout, the entire back of the chassis will be open and flat. You will be able to easily mount the ESC, receiver and battery in the back side of the chassis, and able to find a nice weight balance. Or, of course, 10 minutes and some cutting and you can mount your steering servo to the front on the stock plate just the same. Plenty of room in the rear... |

Okay Reaper, since I beat you up on the Scale 4x4 thread, I think I can easily enough flip the motors around since I'm making a top plate from scratch anyway, that's an excellent thought Mate! And leave my front-mounted steering servo . There are clearance issues, so I may have to dictate what servo to use- A smaller unit or alow-profile type, though I'll try to have it use nothing too special, i.e. pricey.Keep the info coming Gents! I like your front mounted servo idea a lot, as for the servo being pricey.... I have a motto "It's only money". |

A mini servo can be had for small money. You don't need a high end, speedy, high torque unit... |

Got a couple more screenshots- Shows the drive sprocket backside and the end of the mating piece, I'll be going 6-lug so noting will move around. It solves the prob that made you chaps want 1-pc. units: This will be SOLID. The last shot is the sprocket end of that mating piece: Note bearing hole and sprocket for 1/8" pitch chain....... Having these shots means they're drawn AND toolpathed- Only variable left is whether I make just mine or some for other chaps! Chris REC

Make at least 2 extra sets, so when I start bugging you, again, about scrounging around your shop to find me a set, there will be two waiting for me... Or, when you do the run, count me in for two sets...

Chris usually cuts one example-part, and photographs it for the email. This way you can see an example before paying... |

Maybe 2 sets here too, depending on final fit and what else you have planned
