Tim either way is great! If you decide to go with the DF-300 body I will be watching closely! I have a DF-300 body that needs to be painted and assembled for my SR to DF converted concoction. :) So in a way I would say go for the DF!! Use the ford on another project. Trucks are not really for Blizzards....I think only vans or realistic snowcat bodies are good!! I say vans because of the Heavy Metal Van!! hahaha

2 things, I think the truck body is looking good, but really needs a kickass color choice, what did you have in mind? Second I may want to buy your DF body ;)

I wanted the color to be a correct color for the truck, so I chose the blue you can see inside the bed. I think that it will weather nicely as well. A red, yellow or other bold color wouldn't fit in my opinion...

Tim if you decide to get rid of that body lets talk. I am very interested to take it from you

Thanks

Thanks guys. I am going to keep on keeping on with the 1953 F100. The DF-300 body that came with this chassis will make it's way onto my SR, since I really do not like the stock SR body.

Cool Tim!! Yeah the SR bodies do suck other than keeping snow out better because they are super skinny. :D

Okay, time for some diamond plate.

Posted Image

That's better.

Posted Image

Made some running boards as well.

Posted Image

Getting there...

Posted Image

A nice place to put your feet.

Posted Image

The overall new diamond-y look.

Posted Image

Holes.

Posted Image

Filled.

Posted Image

Tadah! Mo-betta...

Posted Image

Sunroof.

Posted Image

Goodbye.

Posted Image

Ouch!

Posted Image

Someone should be more careful...

Going for another kickass weathering job I see! You should kick it up a notch and figure out how to make the body panels look misaligned ;) :)

As much as that is a good idea PFitchie, I do want to get this done by the end of 2013...!

Nice, fresh coat of primer.

Posted Image

Salty

Posted Image

Apply water, then sprinkle on salt. High sodium build.

Posted Image

Posted Image

All dry.

Posted Image

Light coat of red primer.

Posted Image

#0000 steel wool to remove salt and smooth. Burt Reynolds approves.

Posted Image

Mo salt. It does makes everything taste better.

Posted Image

Sprayed a coat of Tamiya "dull red" and then #0000 steel wool again.

Posted Image

...and more salt (both sizes)

Posted Image

Then then final color (Tamiya AS-5 "Light Blue" or "Luftwaffe")

Posted Image

Masks and salt removed. Ready for some serious #0000 steel wool and detailing...

Posted Image

More soon, snow's a-coming!

I didn't want to say anything but I really prefer the snow cat body on these vs a truck or van body.

Cool that you got the metal tracks. I'm on the waiting list for the next shipment.
