I seriously think it is the end of my Sabertooth!! I put the stock motors back in today. The thing glitches like it did with my Losi Insanes!! Jerky throttle!! I opened up the ESC cover to play with the dip switches. I tuned ramping off and as soon as I hit the throttle....it would just jerk along. The red led came on along with both green!! Hit reverse and the same thing. Glitch, jerk...stop. If I held the throttle long enough it would struggle its way through whatever it was funking out about. I wonder if this thing is officially done!! I am beginning to lose faith in Mr. Sabertooth!! Should I just pop my new one in and see what happens. I don't think the motors are cooked because they are the stock ones with little run time. I wired my motors up positive to positive and negative to negative on the Sabertooth per motor....This is the correct way to wire them isn't it? I know the stock ESC one motor was backwards for some reason. Anyone out there have an idea what is happening? My happy Blizzard SR days are over now the anger has set in!! LOL |

Did you ever temp the sabertooth when your losi's were running hot? The sabertooth instructions do say if possible to mount it to aluminum chassis. Maybe you didn't have enough air flow in the radio box to cool it properly once you started running your hot rod motors? Just an idea. |

Trust me, I'm still learning about these things but just a suggestion. You stated that the one motor wire was reversed in stock form, is it possible the way you rewired them, that they both have the same rotation and are working against each other? Just try reversing one of the motors. IDK? It looks to me that the set up in the SR is similar to an E-REVO where one of the motors is a "reversed rotation" motor to keep things spinning properly, spinning the tranny in the same direction if you will.? I don't have a way of checking the temp on the sabertooth or anything. Yeah it probably was not getting enough air flow that is for sure. I do have fans on the way but too late..lol..well for the one old Sabertooth. If I install the new one I will get some air flowing to the motors and that area. I guess it is a lesson learned. "It's Only Money!" hehehe ![]() I don't think wiring one motor in the reverse will matter with a Sabertooth because it clearly labels M+ and M- so I don't see how switching it on one motor will matter....or am I wrong? The stock motors are junk anyway. I guess for fun I could change the wires around on one. |

Since i installed the Titan 380, i noticed that the Sabertooth is running more hot than before. So i decide to install a fan on the top of the Sabertooth. Today i run 2 batteries ( outside temp was 0 degree celcius ) , and the Sabertooth run cooler no heat at all. I'm happy with the result. I have the insane motors but i don't think i will install it in the blizzard. Because i like the power and torque of the Titan 380. |

Yeah I am getting the Titans for my Blizzard SR. They are awesome and really shouldn't have issues with the Sabertooth. The Titans have fans built in which gives nice cooling and air flow. I just have to wait for my motors and then find pinions....oh and I am going to be doing a SR to DF-300 conversion soon thanks to Reaper!

Did you contact Sabertooth about getting it diagnose/repaired. I've cooked mine a couple of times and sent it in. |

Even if you pay for the repair it could be cheaper than buying a new one. |

Funny thing is I have a new one just sitting here..hahaha. It was part of a deal I bought a new SR and it came with it. I will see what Dimension says. I am almost tempted to just say forget about it anyway. I really want to try the DF-300.

Well Reaper is selling me all the parts needed to convert. I can't wait. I just ordered the DF-300 Body, decals and plastic parts for $76USD shipped to me in Canada. It will be great to take the new SR I have and make it a DF-300. It should be way more fun and reliable. I hope.

I know this is off topic, but how can I get in on this? B-) I'd love to convert mine also!
