Hey guys, came over from RCCrawler.com. I just recently picked this up over there from the classifieds for 110$ I always wanted one but being that they are only useable in the snow I couldn't justify the normal price tag.I bought it knowing it needed a body this one was painted terribly but when it dumped snow here yesterday I had to get it up running. I was up to 3am last night, got the electronics in and tried my best to do something with this body until I can get my new one from RPP Hobby ![]() Tossed on some old repro tamiya mountaineer decals, added some proline lights, made a stack for the exhaust and added a proline rack w/ accessories and I was ready for the snow this morning. Headed out back to see what this thing could do. ![]() The current set up was a traxxas xl5 esc and traxxas 12t 550 motor with a 5645 Hitec digital high torque servo ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with it, I had standard 2400nimh pack in it, it had a lot of torque and for taking it out of the box as I received it it was working well vid on 6 cell http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/ihaveabruiser/2B343D3C-111E-4B2A-993F-6EF368BA214A-5979-00000221B7185D21.mp4 After a few minutes I decided I wanted to try a 3s in it. I just got my 1st 3s pack and was hoping to wake this thing up...It did just that but apparently the xl5 wasn't rated for 3s and it cooked up within 2 minutes but here is a quick vid before it shut down http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v73/ihaveabruiser/BD64D17F-BC92-44EB-A04A-227951991B17-5979-00000221CA755726.mp4 I am going to the hobby shop tomorrow and doing the trade up program and getting a traxxas BL system for it. The new body should be in as well and I am also going to order the ball bearing kit for it tonight now. Thanks for looking -Mike |

The yellow is cool but the PO didn't mask the windows correctly and the paint bled through and it's chipping off all over the place :-/ Hence the double windshield banner to hide the paint runs. I am doing a black and white sheriffs office search and rescue body on the new one I have coming B-) |

A few weeks back I picked up a blizzard from the classifieds on rcc for a steal. The body was kinda beat but when I got it we were getting snow and I wanted to get it running. I ran a pack or 2 through it that day then tried a 3s and the XL5 didnt like that much :ror: So I did the trade up program at the LHS to a villeon system, ordered a bearing kit, got 120k diff lock, and ordered a new body from Corey over at RPP Hobby. I had some time to paint it last week and being home sick from work today I had time to finish detailing it out. I wanted to do a Suffolk County Sheriffs theme so I went black and white with it, tossed on a light bar from an NYPD toy car that a buddy gave me to many years ago, 4 aluminum KCs from a tamiya club member (bar has 3 different flash patterns), a pro line rack with some goods, and finished it off with a juggsterr winch, custom exhaust stack, reign antenna and a custom fuel tank with lines. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Plans are to try and add some sort of interior, few more antennas, and I want to label it with some white lettering but need to get letters 1st. thanks for looking Mike Woot! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() full boost! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() video http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/ihaveabruiser/media/2984D01C-90A8-4F1F-A128-A1E12727C881-6738-000003A48528916B_zps6b365020.mp4.html http://smg.beta.photobucket.com/user/ihaveabruiser/media/F4B4936F-1653-479D-99F7-153D19D5332C-6738-000003A4E417F650_zps8178abcd.mp4.html Edited by SubaruMike, Feb 10 2013, 12:44 PM.
