I'm getting about 5 minutes (seem like) of run time before I start getting the red flashing error light on the Sabertooth. The motors start & stop, like jogging. Also the motors get too hot to touch. I'm trying to push some snow. The blade is angled, so I'm not fighting a pile of snow. I've tried a few different batteries (6 & 7 cell nimh). I also let the motors cool and try it, same thing. I'm running the stock motors, Sabertooth esc, 6 cell battery. Any ideas? |

Dumb question... batteries are good and fully charged? I had a battery that would only run for about 10 minutes then give up, turned out the battery was junk; it would only take 480mah charge (it is about 8 years old). The stock motors get hot just driving around.

Yeah that red flashing light and jogging affect you describe indicates a low voltage level! I had that happen when my 5000mAh Onyx 7.4V 2S lipo ran out of juice. Time to recharge. I am glad I have lipo batteries. |

This is happening with 4 different batteries, all freshly charged. The SR seems to run around 15 minutes with no plowing. Are the batteries just old? |

It runs much better with dual 7 cell batteries. No sure how long the stock motors will last, but I'm swapping them out anyway. |

Sounds like batteries are the problem for sure. Just my opinion. |

I'm not sure, but don't know what else it would be. I put the same batteries in my monster truck and was blasting through 4" of snow for a good 10 minutes with no loss of power. |

We are useing 5000 Lipo's and after 1 hr. no problem and are usually cold and ready to come in. Next day out for 45 minutes and ran good. Then would remove and charge up. I would think a tracked Blizzard uses more battery power than a wheel RC would. Oilcanman |

I think your right. The Blizzard drive train has more drag. Lipos aren't in the cards right now, so I'll continue to run the 2- 7 cells. |

Man, thanks for rubbing it in! I ran my (Clodzilla) monster truck for 20-25 minutes with no issues. Still had plenty of power, just got too cold (me). Weighs at least twice as much as the S/R. Also made an operable plow system for that, up/down,side to side. Talk about pushing snow. There's a lot of drag on the S/R drive train. I'm about half way through making a direct drive system. Getting rid of the 2 plastic sprockets and chain. Will give it a test run this weekend. |
