Ahh, the wonders of modern plastics...they don't do them out of metal anymore because they can do them faster and cheaper in plastic, and increase their profit margins. In truth, there are lots of materials nowdays that are better than metal for manufacturing and fabricating. I was into R.C. stuff back in the day when everything was made out of metal...it had benefits in some cases, but in others, not so much. You could never bash a metal chassis the way you can with a plastic one, and have it look ( and function) afterward. They would dent and twist, sometimes snap in half. It would be nice though with a vehicle like the Blizzard to have a metal tub available...they aren't speed semons, and the medium you run them on (snow) generally isn't hard enough to do any real damage to a metal tub. The extra weight would be awfully nice at times. |
