I just received my Axial Wraith, which is not a vehicle aimed at beginners, and it has a Tamiya battery plug on it! I couldn't believe it. I think these manufacturers must use it because up until recently, it was standard. Also, they are a pressure fit, and don't need soldering. But the biggest of them all, I am sure that they are cheap. Deans plus are expensive, if you are buying thousands anyways. My one and only battery, speed controllers, and motors all have Deans. Love them. Funny Kyosho still uses them, and has not come out with their own, like Traxxas. |

I have bought Deans connectors when I first started my build but I can't use them because my charger has Tamiya plugs. |

I had the same thing - I put a split in the charger wires, ( cut some of the rubber off each one ) and put on two leads to a DEANS connector - so I can use either - but the only one that gets used now is the deans - I kept the old ones on "just in case" - works fine . . . the DEANS give a nice "clean" connection ( nice and tight - no power loss ) . . |

not the section to get into it I guess - maybe in "general" - would like to know how you like the "Wraith" when it's up and running..... was thinking about getting back into "crawling" next year - not enough time left in the season up here - it's already getting pretty cold at night ...... |

Somewhere I saw a charger cord with the banana plugs in one end to go into your charger, and split on the other to every conceivable connection. Looked pretty handy, but since the are all male's you would have to be careful not to touch them while you were charging... ScaleXtreme: cut off the Tamiya and solder on a Deans, or just get an adaptor. I will do a quick sum up of the Wraith in the General RC section so far when I get a chance. and back on subject.... I notice that even every "ready to run" RC4WD vehicle comes with a Tamiya connector! This struck me as funny, because these are far from entry level vehicles. |

Yes Itch, that's it. Pretty slick. You will never have to worry about not having the right adaptor. Hehe... I use this to charge my one trusty 2s Lipo battery... I do like it alot. http://www.maxamps.com/EOS0606i-AC-DC.htm |
