I forgot to say that I want the up and down control stick to do the forward and reverse and the left right stick to make it turn left and right. I even tried swapping the ch1 and ch2 connectors on the receiver but that just made it act goofy.

Got it all figured out!!!!! Thanks again for all the help. I am sure I will have more questions in the future. Now the only problem is the snow is gone and I can only run it on grass for the next seven months.

Glad it is all sorted out Mountain Goat. It is such an improvement over the stock wiper controllers, it is almost a completely different vehicle. You should post some pics of the DX up in the pictures section, as we love seeing them!

Now can someone post pics or a write up for the new Blizzard SR? Handsome_Tim I know you plan on adding the 2x12 to yours. I would love to see how you install it. Thanks in advance. I love learning new things everyday!! :)

Can you make the Sabertooth waterproof? How should a person mount it?

It is not waterproof. I am going to tear into mine tonight if I can, and see how to mount it. I think I am going to mount on that cross member that the original electrics are mounted on. And, with any luck, if I can keep that tinted splash cover over it should be just fine. It will be off the floor, and not able to be splashed from the top. Well, let's hope. It won't blow up if it gets a little wet, but don't take it into a pond!

I can't wait to see how you mount yours Tim! It will be great to know and see some pics if possible. :) I am surprised the company that makes the Sabertooth doesn't offer a waterproof version or box. I guess we could figure our own out but I am worried about any water touching this expensive little device!! Yikes!!

I got it all mounted up. It went surprisingly well. I will post some pics as soon as I get a chance.

I can't wait to see the pics. What gauge of wire do you use? I have no wire at home so I will have to buy some.

I used 12 gauge, because that is what I had laying around at the time, but is extreme overkill. You could get away going down to about 20 gauge for short distances because the 380 motors pull <5 amps at lock up when it is geared low.

First questions from the new guy (you knew it was coming!)

1) Will I see a performance improvement using the Sabertooth with the stock motors, other than better control functions?
2) Is there any resale value/market for a "like new" SR stock esc and radio?

1. I noticed a slight increase in top speed. This is probably due to just quality. Cheap ESC's give you cheap performance/efficiency. The main benefit is the unbelievably huge increase in controllability and enjoyment of use.

2. The stock ESC's are complete junk, and have no value. Their average life is under 3 hours of use. THe stock transmitter and receiver is not worth a bunch, but is a nice basic 2.4ghz 4 channel stick controller. Someone with a Bruiser, or just a left handed person who was looking for an entry level transmitter might want one. I kept mine and installed the receiver in my daughters Lunch Box, since she is left handed.

The best way to find the values, are put them on eBay and start the bidding at .99 cents. They will hit their market value at the end of the auction.

Well, my new esc should be here soon. And no snow on the ground yet so I should be ok. Good thing I stumbled across this forum. My other option if/when the stock stuff pooched out would be to keep the stick TX and run dual Sidewinders. Kind of a waste of such flexible and programmable speedos but it would do.
