Getting Started

First thing off, your going to need to choose a school to commit to. Picking the right school is key. Don't choose to go to Florida if you plan to be a starting QB and not expect to wait a year or two. Your not going to be starting over Tebow (Who will be a Junior because we will be starting from the 2008-2009 season). But you don't have to pick a school you wont get enough recognition from when NFL scouts come looking either. You will choose your school when you create your player.

You have a choice of what year you are in your college career as well. If you want to be a freshman that's great, but you can choose a Sophomore if you want. There are benefits for being in each class. as week as negatives. The higher the class you are in the more points you get to start with. Freshman start with the basic, Sophomores get 5 more, Juniors 10 more, and Seniors 15 more than a Freshman. However, the longer you remain in school the bigger name you may make for yourself and may progress more than if you spent one year in college. Freshman must remain in school for at least two years. A Sophomore, Junior, and Senior can choose between playing through their Senior year or leaving after one year. Freshman will be 19, Sophomores 20, Juniors 21, and Seniors 22 as far as ages go.

The NFA

The NFA, National Football Association, is the minor league to the NFL. Like AAA to the MLB or the D-League to the NBA. With the amount of players that come out of college and never make the roster and wait in free agency for another chance to play. So many players come out of college every year and there are only so many teams and roster spots in the NFL. So the NFL developed a minor league to develop players when there are no roster spots open and to (especially in these hard times) give people jobs. With the AFL, Arena Football League, not having a season this year, it brought a good number of players to crossover into the NFA.

Each NFL division will have a team in the minor league to affiliate with. Making it an eight team league. An eleven weeks, ten game schedule. The playoff schedule is set up so that six of the eight teams make it in. Top team in each division earns a first week bye. Wildcard week, Divisional Championship week, and then the NFA Championship Game. Making it a 14 week season, 15 weeks with the All-Star game. The NFA preseason starts when then NFL is in its 3rd week of its preseason. The regular season kicks off on the 2nd week of the NFL's season. And the NFA runs week by week with the NFL. Since the NFA season is shorter it starts after the NFL and ends before the NFL even starts its playoffs. The NFA playoffs run from the NFL's week 13 to week 16. Week 16 being the All-Star Game for the NFA. Ending the NFA season before week 17 of the NFL. Leaving the best NFL time of the year to itself. NFA games play on Saturdays with the game of the week being on Friday night.
