Guidelines for Posting
- Please only make one thread in this forum. Simply add posts for each new character that you create. This will reduce clutter and keep everything nice and orderly.
- You may not post in another user's topic. Each thread is for its creator alone to post in. If you are discovered to have posted in another's thread, you will be given a verbal warning for the first offense and a temporary posting ban for the second. Subsequent offenses will be dealt with depending on their severity.
- We do ask that you not post your character's personality. This is not a rule, but simply a request. The main reason for this is because it defeats the entire concept of character development: if you assign your character a personality right from the get-go, you force him to remain static throughout the roleplay. By omitting this, you allow for a much wider spectrum to be covered: your character goes from static to dynamic; you are given the opportunity to use prompts and nuances from his roleplay to give insight into his personality that might otherwise never present themselves.
- Please only post character profiles for characters that you are roleplaying or have roleplayed on this board. Do not post stock characters, do not post characters from other sites or past roleplays--these only take up space and have no functional purpose.
- Finally, please do not post pictures of your characters in their descriptions. Primarily, this is usually illegal; copyright infringement is only fun to laugh at in private. Beyond that, you should be well able to accurately describe the character in more detail than a stolen image could ever manage. Ultimately, it just boils down to the fact that this is often rather juvenile a practise, especially when the image is twice the width of one's screen. So simply put: just don't do it and we aren't going to have any problems. If you do, no big problems will result; however, they will be removed by a staff member and you will receive a warning.
