Yeah, I know we've "Moved" so many times already, but I've discovered Content Management Systems (CMSs) that will basically allow us to run a full-featured site with many, many features. Right now I'm setting something like that up on DeeJay Gamer.com. Basically, everything on the site will be accessible to anyone on the team. Meaning team members can post updates on what is going on in the project right on the cyrodiil.deejaygamer.com home page. At the very least, it might be used in addition to this message board, although it does have a forum built-in. Also, the software is something that is currently free and I believe open source even-meaning we'll ALWAYs be able to have the latest edition of the software with the current security updates. |

Sounds great. I just have to say though, why am I not mentioned on the team page on the site? I think that I should at least be mentioned for 'various things'. |

Yeah, well it's because the site hasn't been updated in awhile simply because it's got no CMS and hence no way to update it without firing up Expression Web again. Also, I think it won't make these forums obsolete, from my experience with deejaygamer.com, the php fusion forum system isn't anywhere near as good as ZetaBoards. If anything I'll find a way to have the forum link redirect here. |

I like this idea. You have permission (not that you need it, your an admin as well) to go through with this. |

http://cyrodiil.deejaygamer.com/ I may to work on modifying the theme a bit at right now it's just using the original banner-which really has nothing wrong with it, anyway-aside from the fact that it was created for an older version of the website. Sabian, sign up and I'll give you admin privileges. Unfortunately, there's no moderator position-that's part of the reason I'd have this still be the "official" forums. The php fusion thing would just be a front-end for members of the team to post information on the mod for the public to see. I can probably create a user-type for team members though, that will have access to things that normal members would not have access to, like the ability to post news and such...I'll see what I can do with setting all of that up. What I DO like about php fusion is that it's very flexible about setting up admin rights. Right now, I've got Quixote set up as a content admin, meaning he can pretty much do anything with the content sections-post news, articles, downloads, etc. Sabian, you can do more like managing the forums and such, there are only a few things I'm not allowing, like the ability to create new admins-I might consider granting you that in the future, though. |
