ok... everybody go watch this video and explain again to me why we're not using Vality's Trees if he's offered them to us as resources?? |

Well, one reason I do not like it is that all the leaves have the same lighting, it means that when you look up in forests, all you can see is waves of the same leaf texture repeating themselves for miles. If those trees were more like Oblivion's, with actual speedtree technology, then I'll be fine with 'em. |

i understand your point, but you're arguing that we shouldn't use an available resource that's ONLY ten times better than the others available, because it's not 15 times better. how is that logical? it's still far superior to anything else available in that it actually reduces framerate and allows for more dense foliage, while also improving the overall appearance. that's just my opinion, though. |

Well, I'm not saying we should not use them, (or maybe or did but now I see your point :D), but only in very controlled bunches. We already have a flora pack with trees not using Speedtree, I'll look kinda odd if some trees were speedtree and some weren't, and Vality's trees also doesn't work well with distant land. |

We are going to use them. In fact, since we've got permission, I'll be using them to update the Enviropacks.

I'm going to retexture the leaves to fit the areas better, but nothing too drastic. |

make sure that's okay with Vality first, as i seem to remember him being adverse to folks altering his stuff. |

not sure that would fit anywhere. And would someone else PM Vality, I really don't need the pressure right now. And one more refusal and I might just explode... |
