ANNOUNCEMENT: We've moved to a BRAND NEW WEBSITE with its own domain name: provincecyrodiil.com! Unlike the previous website, the forums are ad-free and fully integrated with the rest of the site. The only issue now is trying to implement most of the features we'd been taking for granted with PHP Fusion. The forum should be good to go for the moment, I plan on testing everything on an alternate forum first before trying to integrate it on the actual forums.

I'm testing out phpBB as a CMS system-so far I'm liking it as a message board, but I'm hoping I'll be able to adapt it into a more or less full-fledged site. Here's a screen capture of the super-awesome layout:

It's something I've been working on conceptually since a while before Fallout 3 was even released. Yeah, I'm perfectly aware the idea sounds outrageous, but that's sort of why I'm doing it. It is set in an alternate distant future in which Link vanished after pulling the Master Sword from the Temple of Time, allowing Gaondorf to continue his rule of Hyrule indefinitely. Eventually, a new city was created in a land beyond his influence, established by the remnants of the Hyrule royal family. It was built inside a kind of horse-shoe shaped range of mountains, making it very well-fortified. Eventually, of course, war broke out and the magical equivalent of Nuclear War broke out. Just like the Fallout series, a Vaults were built, although the nature of the experiments conducted in the Vaults is somewhat different (at least in the case of the Kokiri Vault, although I won't reveal too many details right away). The Hyrule Royal Family was safe in a special Vault beneath the castle/Hy-Tech headquarters. Ganondorf's descendant took refuge deep inside Death Mountain, where he enslaved the native Gorons.

There are many other details I've worked out about how things have changed from the OoT era to the events of this mod, but I'd like to organize it all first before posting anything.

The "full demo" release is planned to feature the following:

  • The Kokiri Vault, where your character lives and starts out the game.
  • A portion of the Hyrule Wastes containing all the locations you will visit in the demo.
  • A small settlement with a pub where Saria is staying.
  • A portion of New Hyrule City where a Hy-Tech field office is located.
  • Kokiri Forest itself, along with a dungeon inside the Deku Tree.
  • A complete quest line with a number of twists and turns and a difficult moral choice.

After that is done, work will begin on expanding the world from there and construct a storyline that will involve three factions with different goals:

  • Princess Zelda's Faction (Good): She wants to bring the people of Hyrule together to help rebuild the broken world.
  • King Hyrule's Faction (Neutral): He wants to restore Hyrule to its former glory.
  • Ganondorf's Faction (Evil): He wants to bring order to Hyrule.

I'm planning on releasing this in small parts, with the world sort of expanding as it's created. I'm hoping to get some help, particularly with custom models and such, I'm hoping to have some ruined "neo-medieval" architecture created for this project, amongst other things.

The Kokiri Vault Suits (design outdated, will probably post the new design, which uses the actual Kokiri Symbol, in the near future):

Again, the Vault Suit logo is outdated. Not sure whether or not I'll make a new wallpaper with the exact same concept displaying the new design, though.

Certain aspects of the Kokiri Forest quest have led me to make the decision that the Kokiri will have adult forms in Twilit Future, although there may actually be children in the populace-I'm not 100% certain whether or not I'll do that.

Kokiri Tunics (I'll eventually create a resized version of the second one so it doesn't stretch the forum):

And finally-I'm looking for some opinions about Zelda's dress, which I recently created, which one looks better?

This:

or this?

I kind of like the first one because I'm not too sure the violet blue-type color really fits with everything, but it does help add some contrast to make the royal crest stand out more...

Any other changes you might suggest would be welcome as well.

Personally I think I like the second dress better.
