One of the things that really bugged me about Oblivion was the change from having creatures youll never see on Earth, to a ton of them that live i my home state. If you do make mountain lions or elephants or whatever, Id suggest adding to them to make them appear more alien. |

Yup yup, the texturer hears you, I'll be sure to make them look very alien. So what should I do? Give 'em a different colour of fur, give them strange features? |

Just use your imagination. Like the elephant for example, even though I dont really see them as fitting in, who says theu need two tusks? You could give them two rows of tusks that line their skine to the back of their spine and the tusks decrease in size as the go back. Who knows, but Nirn isnt earth so be creative, imho. |

About elephants... actualy if imperials are grubing out jungle they will surely need some kind of animals to help them. Horses won't look well in this enviorment ;-) Anyway... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/32/Decorated_Indian_elephant.jpg Making piece of cyrodiil little like india could be pretty cool - just to show variety of multiculture in imperial province ![]() I belive that the way to go is mixing real world animals with some kind of morrowind-like free fantasy. Maybe it could be not so bad idea to take a look at classic Conan novels from Howard. Howard writed it before LoTR so it isn't standard goblin/dragon fantasy - more like Lovecraft fantasy and this may look quite nice with ayelid ruins.Yay... don't be so lore. Lore community is dead anyway becuse of oblivion. Edit I may be annoying but it's becuse of that I really want to see cyrodiil... big and beautiful

at this point, the question of lore, Oblivion, and our mod's place in all that has been brought up, questioned and discussed so many times i've lost count. the decision we came to as a group was that any major derivations from the lore defined by TESIV:OB, will have to be left to the community to mod in later. that doesn't mean everything has to look exactly like Bethesda's, often criticized, version... it just can't go so far outside the lines that it's lore-breaking in any substantial way. and i want to remind folks that this isn't some decision that i made for everyone else to follow. in actuality, i was for more freedom and changes, but after discussion came to understand that it's not what most people wanted and i was outvoted. i imagine that, after the mod is released, there will be a series of mods that alter things to suit others' visions of what Cyrodiil should be: "Cyrodiil: Creatures", "Jungles Of Cyrodiil", etc... so, basically, anything you guys want to add that is too far from OB lore to fit will have to wait for later.. and those ideras that can be explained without ruffling too many feather, can be properly voted on by the official P:C Modders and the leadership. just to let you know though, the leadership votes will weigh more heavily on the outcome than that of newer modders. while than may not seem fair to the newer group of folks who have come to help out, it's the only way it's actually fair to those of us who have been with the project, working and planning, since it's beginning. |

I guess you belive in community to strong. How many mods are there to mod tamriel rebuilt? Only few. If somone would want to set mod in cyrodiil he will probably use oblivion anyway unless morrowind cyrodiil is in some way much better than oblivion. Much better becuse oblivion got this little advantage that it's already there and nobody have to w8 years for it. And the oblivion engine is better as well, only deep, colorful even if brown most the time morrowind world hold the players in game. ![]() |

Don't challenge me... Cyrodiil won't only look better graphically, it will be more detailed, fun, realistic, and well, better than Oblivion's Cyrodiil. If we didn't think that, we would probably just go play Oblivion. |
