ANNOUNCEMENT: We've moved to a BRAND NEW WEBSITE with its own domain name: provincecyrodiil.com! Unlike the previous website, the forums are ad-free and fully integrated with the rest of the site. The only issue now is trying to implement most of the features we'd been taking for granted with PHP Fusion. The forum should be good to go for the moment, I plan on testing everything on an alternate forum first before trying to integrate it on the actual forums.

Ok folks look at this map!

Posted Image

Well I'm posting this just to point that it would be GREAT to creat regions i cyrodil just like in morrowind - not like in oblivion. I can see burning desert north to Kratch, jungle at the south of of province - and woodcutters working hard. I can see steppe at the north - with cold winds blowing from skyrim...

And I'm really pist off becuse of oblivion.

I wish you luck guys! Do it right/yoursefl :D

There will definitely or most probably be some jungly areas down near Leyawiin, but the idea of the dessert is nice, I'm anxious to see what the others will think of this.

Well, desert would be just continuation of hamerfell desert. Like you can see on this map all hamerfell citys are close to coast, while the most of province is just wasteland. Well i don't really think that desert just ends at the border. Some parts of cyrodiil should be a desert to!

I like the idea. We should see what our bosses think about it 'cause we are mere workforce
It wouldn't be too strange that the confine of Hammerfell is determined by end of the desert, just like the river south of Rihad.

yeah understood. But i hope that you are not about to creat oblivion like terrain. This was boring as hell - trees, trees, trees, mushroms and omg! mountains. Hamerfell like desert, plains... or fields of wheat and orchards (orchards like in rome inpire ;), somehow food is created huh?) would make cyrodiil more complex place - like morrowind, especialy if somone get meshes for buildings in difrente styles. Vitality made awesome houses for his skyrim project, this would fit nice after some retexturing for north border of province, tamriel rebuilt project have nice hamerfell meshes - some convertion and retexturing and... oh yeah.

Cyrodiil need more variety of landscapes - especialy if it would be so big as you are planing guys ;)

And hey! Forget plz about oblivion. Ayelid ruins do not need to be white and polished just becuse that was in oblivion. Just think; houndreds of years old and still looking so fresh? LOL I think that orginaly it was planed as aztec looking but than something not cool happend in bethesda and lore was killed.

i hope that's not how you really feel about your work here. everyone's opinion is appreciated, no matter how long they've been with the project or how much they've contributed. but there has to be leadership and rules.

now get back to work, slave!! :P

on topic, while we're definitely not going to be recreating OB's Cyrodiil exactly, i don't think we'll be completely changing everything based on old lore. many in the community believe that lore is dictated by Bethesda every time they release a new game and, even if it changes drastically, that's cannon. so, although old games refered to Cyrodiil as a jungle and the Imperial City as a group of interlocking islands, the newest game is law and has therefore revised that history.

but i would definitely like more variation in our version of Cyrodiil, just not to the point that we're creating a landmass no one will recognize.

New lore is good IF this is something intresting. Oblivion lore is just average fantasy so dramaticly far from morrowind vision. Even roman elements of cyrodiil was cuted. This is soemthing that is... wrong. TES game should not be just ordinary mild fantasy. Morrowind was crazy, Rome with jungle around would be crazy as well.

So if you are not about to make cyrodiil crazy... let it be just colorfull - some forest, some jungle, some desert, some plains... difrent looking citys... and yes... IMPERIUM!!! Not LoTR kingdom...

Well, I do believe that much of Oblivion's Cyrodiil was unrealistic, it needed farmland and orchards and such as you specified, and some jungle orchards too. Since all and/or most of Tamriel's real life crop comes from Cyrodiil it should be grown there, so where is it grown? This wasn't shown enough in Oblivion, and I feel as if we really need to fill in the unrealistic gaps of lore that Oblivion made.

And about the "leaders", I feel important and all, it's just that I feel kind of tied up in the event of making decisions and talking as a mouth for the project, if you know what I mean...

Well, for me it is just way to fill empty space and make it intresting. Realistic is not equal awesome ;) and if this would be only problem with oblivion you all guys should mod oblivion to fix it ;)

If there is clearly writen what can we expect about this mod? Just paint it straight plz; what is your mission in other words...

If I have to say it all, there would be a lot to fix (at least for me). An actual food processing chain with farms, windmills, bakers and all else, woodworking (woodcutters, woodworkers with related activities), mansory (those houses didn't built by themselves right?), mining, leatherworking which provides raw materials for clothiers, not to mention all the other sort of jobs that I can't name right now. And honestly, why there isn't even a single fort with some guard garrisoned? You can find a truckload of working forts in Vvardenfell and not even a single one in Cyrodiil... maybe they run out of names?
