SEED. GLADIUS. Two organisations that had discovered a power that should have been kept away fro humanity. However, it was Terado's own fault. All these centuries, Terado had let it happen so there was no one else to blame but himself. Instead of reforming the Sentinals, he had taken the responsibility upon himself to sort out the world's problems. Terado guessed the reason was, because he couldn't trust anyone anymore. After all, when your very kind rise up against you, lead by one of your own, you tend to lose the ability to trust anyone. And so, Terado had been reduced to taking on many organisations alone. He had become exceedinly good at infiltration as a result. Attacking places all out was out of the question, even Terado couldn't handle that much. So his objectives had been critical strikes to crucial or essential parts of an organisation. Whether it was taking out a warehouse of power generators or falsifying document to cause war instead of a peace treaty, often causing two organisations to wipe each other out in hidden combat. All was effective and necessary. Humans could not handle power. Once they achieved it, they would crave more and more. The same went for Others, they couldn't be allowed to exploit their natural gifts openly. The flaunting of power would only lead to world wide war and the destruction of earth itself. Terado sighed as he adjusted the bag hanging from his side. There weren't many of them in the labs here, but they would be a start. Terado looked under his cloak, to the various mentor stones tucked safely away in his bag. Esper's needed these to find more Espers and Others alike, so they could be trained to work for them. Terado looked at them, as his own aura caused the stone's glow to vanish completely. Such artifacts should not be used for recruiting purposes of any kind. The more Espers that were left in the dark about their powers, the better. It just meant more lives could be saved seeing as they would never be enlisted to fight a battle that didn't concern them to begin with. Terado closed the bag again, patting it agaisnt the side of his hip and walking quietly down the corridor of the science facility as it was wrapped in the night's blanket. He turned his yellowed eyes to the open spaces between the pillars of the open corridor, looking at the small fountain and garden that had been placed there. This place...used to be covered with grasslands and rives like that once. A long long time ago. |

Enter Marianne Darker, the hero of this little story. Or so she liked to believe. To her own knowledge her reasons for coming her were anything but virtuous, but that didn't mean she didn't have good intentions. Skip always had good intentions. If anything, it was the other GLADIUS members that were always trying to make her look like the bad guy. Sure, she'd vandalized a few things here and there and she may have taken a few things that didn't belong to her, but they could all be explained by the interests of the Others cause. Sort of. The semantics were a little fuzzy, but Marianne had at one point come up with some kind of philosophical argument to justify her actions. They didn't buy it anyway, so what was the point? They told her to use her brain once in awhile and the one time she does, they toss it out the window. Is that hypocritical or what? So what, then had brought this sixteen year old probationary GLADIUS cadet to an off limits section of a compound belonging to an organization she was so vehemently attempting to join? Naturally, it was as innocent as testing the limits of their security of course! After all, some of the most important things in possession of their fine organization were housed here, including the Mentors Stones. So, for the sake of showing her so-called 'superiors' just how easy it would be to infiltrate their little science labs, she'd just have to take one of those stones. If she happened to use it to find some homeless Espers to buy some food for, well that would just be a bonus. Teleporting into the main hallway had been a simple enough start. There were several security cameras to evade, not that it mattered. She'd first jumped herself into the security office and knocked out the guard watching the monitors. Still, there no sense shutting off the cameras, they had so many exploitable blind spots anyway she just had to skip from one to the other. Marianne made a mental note to buy a box of aspirin for the guard she'd knocked out. This was probably the fifth or sixth time she'd done that this year, he probably got monster headaches from it. Making her way down the hall, there was only a few short meters left... Suddenly, she heard someone shuffling around inside the room. Everyone else was supposed to be away at this hour, who the hell could it be? A scientist working late? Or maybe someone had found out what she was up to... That had to be it. A poor trap for someone with her talents. Teleporting to the edge of the doorway, she spied a man stuffing Mentor Stones into a bag. Her jaw slackened slightly seeing the huge form of the man. Marianne was dually surprised at both the gall of someone infiltrating a GLADIUS facility and the fact that he'd beaten her here. Of course, the only proper thing to do was report it to security. Unless of course she could catch the man herself. What could make her intentions seem more pure than that? She'd simply followed a suspicious character lurking around the compound and followed him here, only to catch him robbing them blind! Upon bringing the thief to justice, they'd have to acknowledge her talent and make her a full-fledged member! Skip secretly cheered internally, only to snap back to reality as he prepared to leave. Marianne quickly teleported out of the building onto the roof before he had a chance to see her. As the man prepared to leave, walking along the side of the building, she transported herself behind one of the pillars just as he passed it. In full enigmatic agent mode, she cleared her throat loudly to make herself known. "If I'm not mistaken, I don't believe those things belong to you, do they?" She said, tauntingly, "It's a shame you made it this far without being spotted only to fall right into the lap of GLADIUS' top agent, huh?" Of course, she didn't acknowledge that he hadn't been seen because she'd knocked out the guard watching the monitors, but that was irrelevant for now. "Yup, that's just too bad, isn't it? You should probably drop the bag and run before I get a chance to make my move, y'know?" She said confidently. |

Terado's ears and nose perked up, the air around him growing still by force of his own control over it. He had smelt out and heard Marianne before she spoke. As the little esper, well little compared to Terado, spoke about him being caught, he smirked slightly. He was able to sense her pressence in the air, finding it to take up a certain amount of space, thus giving him her rough height. But what really made Terado smile, was the fact that a person, with such a timid killing intent of an aura, was trying to stop him. He stood there for a moment, looking at the pillar Marianna was hiding behind. Beneath his cloak, only a set of glowing yellow eyes could be seen. He raised his left hand slightly from his side, moving his fingers ever to slightly. Before Marianne knew it, a gust of wind would have pushed her out into the open, leaving her completely exposed. Terado regarded her with his saffron eyes, looking her up and down briefly. "If you're a GLADIUS Agent, it's no wonder I had such an easy time getting inside." Terado then began to walk down the corridor, unphased by Marianne even more so now, but resting his hand on the bag now, purely out of good habit from past mission experience. As he walked, he added, "Getting out will be easy enough, with you here or not. Go to your bed, child." Terado's footsteps were silent, and the air pressure suddenly seemed to lift as he walked away. He was only a few steps ahead of Marianne, so prepared himself for what was the innevitable. Now that he'd been spotted, he'd have to deal with it one way or another. Had it been anyone else, Terado would have run. But if it was just this girl, then he'd be able to deal with it. |

He had stopped as she'd spoken, possibly attesting to her intimidating presence. No doubt he was weighing his options in his head. Wondering what kind of chances he had against such a fearless and powerful agent of the legendary GLADIUS organization. In just a minute, he'd surrender to her and to his inevitable fate, dropping the bag and throwing himself at her mercy, only to have it thrown back in his face along with her teleporting fist of justice. The fist that could dispense justice from any distance! Yeah, that rang pretty nicely. Marianne smirked. Any minute now he'd just surrender and- "Uwaagahey!" She cried incoherently as a sudden burst of intense wind swept from behind the column. There was little time for her to focus on her abilities as she tried to grab on to any nearby object to no avail. Skip was knocked squarely on her butt at his feet, staring up into the eerie glowing yellow eyes of the rather imposing figure of Terado. "If you're a GLADIUS Agent, it's no wonder I had such an easy time getting inside." he remarked, not giving her a second that as he walked by her further down the corridor. Marianne's ego scowled intensely, fuming behind her eyes. How could he talk to her like that?! She'd told him she was GLADIUS' top agent! Even if he didn't believe her, he had to at least believe she could stop him! "Getting out will be easy enough, with you here or not. Go to your bed, child." he added, crushing her even further. That would not stand. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, it was arrogance. It wasn't hypocrisy, she knew she had an ego, but that didn't mean she had to like it when other people's egos clashed with hers. Marianne teleported to her feet and quickly ported in front of Terado's path. Extending her hand in a 'stop' motion, she put her other hand on her thigh and spread her legs. "Hold it right there, jerk!" Skipper said authoritatively. "If you think you're getting off free and clear just because you caught me off guard, you're sorely mistaken." Marianne closed one eye and looked at him with a smirk out of her other eye. Her stop sign turned into a pointer finger extended upwards wagging back and forth in a 'naughty-naughty' motion. "Y'can't just walk into a secure facility and expect to get out without a fight, right?" She said matter-of-factly. It was time for this joker to see who he was dealing with. Even if she wasn't a real GLADIUS agent, those scratches and bruises on her body didn't come from petting kittens. She'd rumbled with enough street thugs to take down this overgrown punk. |

Terado stopped silently as Marianne teleported in front of him. So that was this little esper's power. Teleportation. The girl had just revealed her hand, all that was needed now was for her to show him how she applied it. Regardless as she stood there waving her finger, before she knew it, a massive hand would have wrapped around her finger, slowly pushing it backwards and causing a pain to run through Marianne's entire arm. Terado stood there, slowing moving his tanned arm out to the side, effectively causing poor ol' Skippy to move along with it less her finger be broken. As Terado did the action, he spoke simply, with a devil-may care voice, "It's not the fact that I'll be leaving this place because I caught you off guard, not once, but twice. The fact of the matter is you have no guard to begin with." Terado released her her finger, sliding his hand down beneath his robes, before suddenly running to the side, as opposed to down the corridor. Heading into the small garden he jumped up onto the second story roof, before proceeding to look back down at her, "You're at least 300 years to early to try fighting me. I'm telling you again, go to bed. I'm not gonna say it a third time." With that, Terado partically allowed his body to transform, to have more wolf like characteristics to improve his mobility. The girl was tenacious, he'd give her that. But she sorely was over-estimating her own abilities. Terado didn't want to shed any blood tonight, hell he didn't even want to battle tonight. If word of a student being attacked by some stranger got out, it would be problematic. A thief simply caused measures in higher security to be taken. A assailant caused search parties and case investigations. Not to mention a feeling of vengance from the person that had been attacked. Terado looked at her a moment longer, almost feeling a sense of foreboding about her, before leaping up to one of the higher roofs and continuing to make his escape. |

As she stood there confidently, he approached her without fear. Marianne merely looked up at him, still a bit awestruck at his sheer size. He reached up and grabbed her finger, a gesture she found a bit strange and slightly uncomfortable. "Oh, so whaddya gonna do, break my fi- aaah easy, easy!" she remarked as he slowly bent it backwards. The motion seemed effortless to him, like bending a piece of wet straw. I mean, it was only a finger, but it felt like he could have broken it by accident if he'd sneezed. Skipper made a mental note never to thumb wrestle the poor behemoth. He dragged her around the corridor, her following like a small dog on a leash; obediently as tiny painful tears formed like two seperate bubbles on the edge of her eyes. "It's not the fact that I'll be leaving this place because I caught you off guard, not once, but twice. The fact of the matter is you have no guard to begin with." He said, clearly not taking her seriously at all. In an instant, he was gone; dashing out into the nearby courtyard and up over the rooftop. He was a swift one, she'd have to give him that, but not swift enough to avoid Skip. Small tears welled up along the sides of her eyes as she held her finger. "That...really really hurt!" She cried as she lost sight of him. There was no way she could let him go after THAT insult. If there was one thing he couldn't do, it was lose her by running. Since speed meant nothing when she controlled distance. It would have been just as simple for her to remove her finger from her body, but he'd already seen her basic Esper power, there was no need to give everything away at once. Not to mention the fact that its difficult to focus on creating a portal that small when someone's bending your finger backwards. All you can really think is 'OW OW OW STOP STOP OOOOOW!!' In an instant, she teleported on to the rooftop where he'd been, quickly spotting him across the way. "I said stop already! You can't just avoid me like this! It's...it's insulting!" She scowled, teleporting a good few meters in front of him. Extending one arm, she enveloped her hand in a portal, which instantly appeared around his ankle. "I'm not a child!" She yelled, pulling on his leg forcefully. If she knocked him flat on his face, he'd definitely stop and take notice then. His ego was obviously as big as hers (though probably more well-founded). There was no way he'd see that attack coming. Once he was down, she'd make a proper move. Marianne reached into her pocket with her free hand, running her fingers over the ball bearings in her pocket. No one ever pulled a fast one on her while attempting to dodge a three way attack from dozen directions at once. She was originally going to use her BB gun, but he looked a bit too large for something like that. In her eagerness to fight, something was building inside her. Not just her usual fiery spirit, but something more profound. In her brain, wheels began to turn as she schemed as she hadn't schemed in a long time. For the first time since she could remember, Marianne was thinking before she swung her fists. |

Terado's eyes widened slightly as he felt the cold fingers touch his own bare flesh. What the? But how? He had helt her grip before she'd seen her. A portal? Terado's brow became set and focussed. He bunched up his muscles, partially transforming his leg to increase it's muscle mass, making it hard for her to reach around his ankle, which allowed him to slip it out of her grasp. However, he yanking had caused him to begin falling forward. The bag holding the mentor stones was shut tightly, which meant that Terado could save himself from the fall. His hands shot forward, catching him and saving him from hitting the roof. He used the momentum however, to somersault forward, twisting in the air to land on his facing Marianne. Terado stood there, watching now as Marianne held the ball bearings in her hand. Can she teleport any part of her body? Or was it something else? He hadn't noticed that she had been using a portal just yet, but it wasn't beyond of his suspicion. Terado was not impressed. The little fairy was actually going to turn into a problem despite his warnings. He had two options now though. The being that he beat her senseless and be on his way, or the second, letting her attack him and then countering appropriately. Either way, he wouldn't be needed to transform for this battle. He wanted to beat her into submission, not kill her. "You don't want to be a child? Then prepare yourself to fight like an adult." Terado extended his left arm now, revealing to her the bare, tanned skin, coated with several tattoos. He transformed his right forefingers nail beneath his cloak, before runnig it down along his inner arm, drawing a thin line of blood. Dabbing his right index finger on the blood, He looked inside his cloak. He began to the bag with several symbols, blood runes. Even if she got the bag from him, she'd never be able to open it and even slicing the simple leather bag open would be difficult now. Concealing both his arms now, he closed the newly opened skin wound. "You have no escape now, little teleporter." The air around Terado began to swirl, becoming heavy as Terado exerted his totem's power, letting off a monstorous aura. Those in tune with magic or spirits would see a faint turquoise glow start to float above Terado, shaping into a large eagle. |

The girl smiled, returning her hand to her arm. "So then I've finally got your attention, hm?" It seemed he'd realized he couldn't just keep running. Marianne had successfully goaded him into fighting. He had begun to perform a complex ritual on his arm, no doubt preparing his E's abilities. His power obviously had something to do with enhancing his own body as she'd felt his leg expand around her fingers. Not to mention the air he seemed to control. More than likely, it was a hybrid of the Channel and Sensory faculties. Certainly not something she could screw around with. Marianne had always wanted to be a hybrid, but it seemed she had been stuck with just the one power. Still, she wasn't going to let that become a handicap, her abilities were limitless! The wind began to swirl around his form, which itself was giving off such dark and ominous feelings. It wasn't some kind of hypnosis, otherwise she'd have been forced to actually feel intimidated. Was his power really just that strong? He couldn't be that strong, otherwise why sneak around? "Alright blowhard, let's see what you're made of!" Placing the three ball bearings between her fingers, she just had to wait for an opening. The wind blowing around him would make it difficult to initiate an attack, but that didn't mean she couldn't confuse him a little to start with. Even if he understood how her attack worked, it was impossible for him to see them coming if they moved at random in a literal instant. Skip held her throwing arm far behind her, taking a baseball pitchers stance as she aimed directly for his head. "Take...this!" She yelled, hurling all three metal sphere at him with all her might. The more momentum they had, the longer they'd last and the strong the blows would be. As the balls neared their target, she concentrated, her practiced gaze and focus working perfectly as the ball bearings all suddenly disappeared at once. One suddenly started coming at him from above, while the other two came from the sides of his head. However, before they got too close, they disappeared again, only to reappear an instant later from the same distance but from three more random directions. Terado's head was soon enveloped in an endless loop of randomly appearing and disappearing ball bearings which could attack at any moment from any direction. As Marianne gained better control of her portals, they only seemed to become more cleverly randomized and seemed almost natural in their orbit, making it look like a nest of giant silver insects were flying around his head. That's my infinite momentum technique, no matter what he does, he'll never see the attack coming! She mused confidently in her head. Of course, her confidence always seemed to get in the way of her good judgment. |

Terado stood perfectly still as Marianne threw her ball bearings at him. At first he thought they were some kind of miniature explosive. However, it was only when the dissappeared, and reappeared, did Terado realize that she was trying to do. She wants to puncture my head. just as Terado was about to react though, the ball bearings vanished. The then reappeared again, from nwe little portals. Terado had to keep perfectly still as he tried to watch them from beneath his hood. However, she wasn't attacking. Was she immobolizing him until actual help came? It was possible. However, Terado couldn't stick around for that long less he break his status quo. He closed his eyes, they couldn't be trusted at this point. Instead he relied on his skin, ears and nose. The wind being given off by the ball bearings as they flew threw the air increased in pressure with each transportaion. They're getting faster... There was no scent of gunpowder or sulphur, so they weren't explosive either. Terado's face was stuck in the same pensive expression, as if he'd given in. He wasn't moving even an inch of his body. One, The blood began to pump slightly faster in Terado's veins. Two, his mind gave all his sensorary awareness to his ears, allowing him to hear the exact movements of the ball bearings. It was made even more possibly due to their close vicinity. Three. The right side of his cloak suddenly jerked backwards as Terado pulled his arm back. Marianne would feel a gust of wind suddenly slam into her from behind, sending her closer towards Terado. Terado then ducked down, shifting his entire body towards the roof and pulling of of the orbit of the ball bearings. He then jolted forward towards Marianne. Normally, it would take someone about 10 seconds to reach the running speed Terado was going at, he had achieved that speed in only one second. Terado's cloak then began to swirl, as the hems at the bottom flew up, whirling around Terado as he spun, yet keeping his torso and upper legs concealed. The only thing Marianne would see would be a pair of black pants, tabi and combat sandals. As Terado spun 360 degrees, he flung a total of 3 gusts of wind. The first was a horziontal wall of wind, followed by a vertical and diagonal wind blade. Terado had however, saved something for last. As he ended his 360 spin and gained a good foothold on the roof, he flung both of his arms out, sending the cloak soaring upwards and released a total of 10 cannon balls of wind in all directions. Two had been aimed for where Marianne was, while one had been aimed at the ball bearings behind him. While the rest simply covered random points that he figured she would teleport to considering they were still close to him and still on the roof. |

He didn't budge an inch. No doubt she'd caught him totally off-guard; that attack always did come in handy for that sort of thing. He simply stood there, watching the bearings carefully. No doubt attempting to gain his own bearings. Even so, she'd gotten to know a bit more about him since they started fighting and if there were two things he was never short on it was confidence and tricks. His expression didn't say much, simply that he had no plans of panicking, or moving. However, Marianne didn't trust this guy as far as she could teleport him and under the right circumstances, she could teleport him pretty far. That wouldn't be a bad idea either, if she could ever touch him again. While he had a hold on her finger, she could have ported him to just about anywhere, but it was too difficult to focus through that kind of pain. ...Not that it was THAT painful, it was just her finger. He didn't really hurt her, Skip was WAY stronger than that! It was just really distracting. It made it difficult to focus. I mean, let's see anyone else create a spacial displacement field around an Esper his size with an AIM field as strong as his and send him hurdling into the ocean while having your finger bent backwards. Can you do it? No? I didn't think so! "Pretty impressive huh? Just a matter of time before one wipes your face clean off your head, y'know?" She said, maintaining steady control of the random appearances of the portals. It was an easy enough task, all it took were some small mathematic calculations to create a pattern sporadic enough to seem random. The average human brain could only follow a pattern beyond a certain number of moves, like playing Simon. Her brain, however, was more than average when it came to puzzles and strategy. He was out of his league. Terado closed his eyes, Marianne smirked. He looked like he was ready to surrender. Now was the time to attack! "Too easy!" She shouted, as all the bearings converged on him for the final time. In a blur of movement, her opponent blew the GLADIUS cadet off her feet, shooting her in his direction. The bearings were still on course, but she couldn't control them like this. He ducked, causing them to crash into each other and fall lifelessly to the ground. Terado dashed towards her, closing the gap between them, no doubt to leave her little time to avoid an attack. His massive frame stood before her, cloaked as he began to spin. Marianne didn't waste a second, being knocked back by the force of his first sudden gust of wind. The impact almost literally knocked the wind out of her, but her mind was clear. Teleporting a few meters above him, she remained up there for a moment by teleporting in circles, dodging a few stray flying air cannons. "Move as fast as you want old man, I can always move faster!" Skippy yelled down at him. Taunting wasn't usually her style, but this guy was asking for the full treatment. In retaliation, she let herself begin to fall, but before she got too close to him, she vanished, opening a portal just off the edge of the rooftop and out of his sight by holding on to the lip of the roof. He didn't appear to need to see after watching what he'd done before, but that was only part of the plan anyway. Knowing she was there wouldn't help him quite yet. Using the the edge of the building as leverage, she swung her body in a kicking motion, porting away before she kicked the building. Appearing from the portal, the top half of Marianne's body manifested in front of Terado, smirking. "Let's see how you like this!" She roared, swinging a left-hook aimed at his face. Behind him, her swinging legs appeared that the same time she did, attempting to kick the thief in the back of the head while he was distracted. |

Terado hadn't intended to actually hit Marianne more than once with his previous attack. Even one hit would have been enough. His totem was the one providing him with the power, not him, so it didn't weaken him in the slightest to use the air to his advantage. As his little opponant teleported away, Terado immediately began to find where she was through the air, finding her form on the lip of the roof. Was she trying to hide and escape? No. He didn't think she would be spooked like this after all she went through and all the mouthing off she had done. She was too proud for that. More to the point she seemed intent on defeating him. He sensed her kicking motion before losing her pressence as she teleported. Unfortuately while she was in the process of moving like that, he couldn't track her, meaning he needed to stay alert. As Skip suddenly appeared again, Terado realised what she was trying to do with the kicking motion. He needed to fake her out, think she'd gotten the upper hand. Her punched connected with Terado face, allowing her to feel the smooth skin of his face and stubbled jawline, however, Terado himself began to slowly spin, to make Skip think her punch was a bit more powerful than it really was. As Terado began to spin, he felt he one leg connect with the side of his head. He smirked beneath his cloak and he felt the final flow rushing through the air. Although his head was ringing slightly, this was nothing for him. The back of his hood was what Marianne would be looking at by now due to his spin. The grin turned elongated as Terado Transformed only the jaws of his skull to those of a wolf. Slightly larger and more elongated with rows of razor sharp teeth. As he leg approached, Terado 's feet suddenly anchored themselves stopping his spin. That was when leg met fang as Terado made to clamp onto Marianne's leg. He would then spun int the opposite direction should it connect, causing his fangs to tear the flesh a bit more due to their grip and send Marianne flying. Should she teleport to dodge this however, then Terado readied himself to drawing the air field in the area and subsequently her with it. Two stratergies were always better than one after all. But only one was going to happen depending on how she reacted. |

Marianne felt fist touch bone as her attack impacted his face. HELL YES! SUCKA' GOT LAID OUT! She thought to herself, putting all her force into it as her confidence was renewed. He wasn't such an immutable fighter after all, it seemed that no thug could put off her spontaneous fighting style for long. Skip's knuckles were rather coarse and hard, having punched quite a few things in her day and she felt them crack as they blew across his stubbled jawline. To her, it was probably one of the most satisfying feelings she ever experienced. Nothing quite beat the feeling of hooking someone upside the jaw. Once her legs finished the job, it would be all over for sure. Her opponent appeared to whirl from the force the blow, sending him spinning around to where her feet were about to connect with his head for a second attack. However, as he spun, she heard the sound of popping bones that couldn't have been due to her attack. A sudden shooting, red-hot pain shot through her legs as something akin to daggers sank through her jeans into her leg. Marianne's mind went blank as the pain interrupted her higher instincts. Unable to maintain her portal, the top of half of her suddenly appeared attached to her bottom half which was subsequently sent flying in a hail of blood and blond hair. The young cadet screamed in pain, unable to think through the din of her synapses all screaming out at once. Tumbling across the rooftop, she sailed over the edge, hitting her head against the wall of a nearby building on her way down to the ground. The dazed Skippy saw the ground coming and did everything she could to focus a portal, gritting her teeth to focus through as best she could. However, unable to conjure anything big enough to move her entire body, Marianne instead hit the ground with a dull thud. A small pop accompanied the sound as she landed on her shoulder which unceremoniously disconnected from its socket, sending another ghastly wave of torment to her brain. Her left leg and right arm incapacitated, she rolled on the ground, gritting her teeth and doing her best not to scream at the top of her lungs. She considered herself lucky she'd landed on the grass, trying to think of anything to take her mind off the agonizing feeling in her injured limbs. She dared not look at her leg, knowing he'd bitten down pretty deeply. How he'd done it must have been another ability he'd been concealing. She felt so stupid, using every bit of power she could and barely laying one hit on an enemy who's abilities she knew almost nothing about. Marianne could hear the voice of her instructors already, more pissed off that she'd gone and gotten herself beat to hell and lost the stones instead of telling a real agent than the actual fact that was she was grievously injured. She couldn't let them be right about her, not unless she used every ounce of strength she had. Focusing, her mind felt like it was swimming, but she did her best to make a short portal onto the rooftop. Marianne's body rolled clumsily onto the roof as the portal barely managed to drop her in front of Terado where he'd only dispatched her moments before. Using her left arm to prop herself up, she put her weight on her good leg, leering at her enemy the entire time. The pain was unbearable, but she refused to give in. Limping towards him, she clenched the first of her one good arm, pulling it back to swing aimlessly at Terado's chest. She was too short to hit him any higher and her aim was off anyway. Skip's vision was blurry, she was beginning to feel dizzy and nauseous. "I can't...they can't...Just one more swing...I'll kick your a-" Marianne mumbled as she pulled her fist back against to swing, only to fall unconscious at Terado's feet. |

Terado watched as Marianne went flying over the side of the building. He full well the force with which he threw her with, knowing that the fall might very well break every bone in her body, but it wouldn't kill her. He he wanted to do that, he would already be after her and ready to impale Skip on her own spine. Grotesque, but it had helped Terado ensure that any organisation he had dealt with before, that he was serious business. Terado watched as Marianne reappeared before him, attemtping a punch at his chest, only to have it brush against it. Terado watched her with amber feral eyes as she lost the last of her strength, passing out from the concussion. However, before she fell entirely, Terado caught her. Slowly, he hoisted the young girl up into his arms, watching has he head slumped backwards and her long blonde hair draped over his arm. Terado turned and slowly made his way back down to the ground on the other side of the building. Moving towards one of the more open corridors, Terado lay Marianne up against the wall. He looked at her leg. He'd taken off a bit more than he had intended. He could still taste her blood on his lips. Slowly, he reached out and with his index finger, took some her of blood and form a symbol over the wound. "Zazun geka zazun, zazun geka zazun..." Terado chanted quietly as he performed the seal over each of the wound marks. Slowly, the began to close and knit themselves back together. That was the trick about blood sealing, it had many applications. These runes would be temporary and would vanish in a few hours. By then he was sure someone would spot her and tend to her. But as one final precaution, Terado tore off a part of his cloak, wrapping it around the wound and tieing a knot to hold it in place. He stood up, looking at Marianne. "You have a firm heart, but unfortunately your head is just as hard." Terado closed his eyes, his right hand clasping over his totem. "Sylphs, Faeries and Dryads. Watch over this child tonight. Embrace her in your arms." The Sentinal then turned and left the young Esper behind. He had lingered here too long already. Who knows if someone had heard the battle on the rooftop and was already on their way to investigate. |
