"... I totally need to tell this to Lavender," Liz sighed as she rested in the DenLiner after hearing Sumomo's story. "God knows how many of these things are there. I mean, if hot blooded dumbass over here-" "HEY!" Otoha groaned. "I resent that remark!" she yelled, but still sipped on her green Orange and Peach Smoothie. How two flavors like that end up in the color green, nobody knows but Mizuka. ".... Anyway, if she's one of them, and that thing I fought was one of them... and you're saying there's probably more, then we really need to find a way to stop them. I can't stop all of them after all," Liz continued. "Who's Lavender?" Sumomo asked. "She's my superior officer at GLADIUS, the Esper organization where I work at. But I have to tell just her, this doesn't sound like something I should just tell people higher up in the chain of command. I should also tell Marina..." "Oh, you mean that cranky yuri girl?" Otoha asked. "She has sense of humor, I swear. I mean girlfriend's just being drunk and she takes it out on me," she sighed. "... Knowing her, I don't really want to know what the hell you did with her while I was possessed to get her pissed off," Liz sighed. "Anyway, I'll need to see her..." "Oh, that can be arranged," Sumomo said. "Remember? This is the Train of Space and Time. If you want to meet her, we can do this rather easily once we stop..." Click. The door opened, letting Sumomo and Liz enter the room. It was... rather steamy at the moment, and there was the sound of running water, so they were slightly confused as to where exactly they were. "... wait, so where are we?" Liz asked. "If your perceived destination was right, we should be in your friend Lavender's house," Sumomo said. "But I don't remember Lavender's house being so steamy OR having a waterfall, unless-" ... Then it hit her. "... We're in the bathroom, aren't we," she asked. |

The pitter-patter of running water slowed and finally stopped as Lavender turned off the shower. As the frosted glass confines of the shower booth opened up, clouds of steam trailed into the bathroom like a mist as Lavender stepped out in the nude, her body and hair wet and dripping as the GLADIUS leader reached for her towel handing from a nearby rack... until. "Whoa!" Lavender screamed and fell backwards at the sight of Liz and another girl standing inside her bathroom. "How did you two end up in my bathroom!?" Lavender demanded as she quickly wrapped her towel around herself, shocked and embarrassed at the sudden intrusion. Sure, they are all women, but... |

Liz sighed as she took off her glasses and wiped them on a nearby towel as Lavender finished her bath. Fog was... not exactly the best thing to have when you're wearing your glasses, after all. "How did you two end up in my bathroom!?" Lavender demanded as she tried to make herself more modest. "... If I knew the answer to that, I wouldn't be here, I assure you," Liz sighed. "I'm still trying to make sense of it myself. I... don't know if Marina told you, after all." Liz decided to open the door to the outside just so that they could leave Lavender alone and let her change. "Well, this is kind of important, so if you don't mind, we'll just go downstairs in the living room and wait for you to change," Liz suggested. "Yes, that would be a good idea," Sumomo said. "Sorry about that, we just didn't expect this to happen, after all." With that, they went outside and closed the door once more, going down to the living room to do exactly that. <Aha, a flag was triggered!> "What flag!?" Liz groaned. "I swear, you're worse than Dekuwait a second, how are you talking to me directly like Misuzu and Kanna do!?" <Because, my dear, you still have a wish that needs fulfilling~> "... the fact that you want me to tell you that wish so badly is enough of a reason not to tell you. Not that I can... I don't even know what I want, after all." ... it might seem odd to Lavender if she over heard Liz talking to herself again her companion wasn't responding. However, Sumomo knew exactly why Otoha's link with Liz was growing stronger; it was because of her status both as a Singular Point and as the bearer of the Den-O pass. Lavender heaved a sigh of relief as Liz and the other girl left the bathroom to leave her alone to change. As the two girls left, the GLADIUS leader reached towards the hanger where she had placed a change of clothes. "So, what's so important for you to have to come right up to my home to tell me about it?" Lavender asked as she walked down the stairs towards the living room where the two girls were talking about something, dressed in a light violet T-shirt and a pair of cream-colored capris, her amethyst locks tied back in a simple ponytail, noting that Liz was strangely conversing with herself. "So, for starters, may I know what's your name?" Lavender asked Sumomo as she sat down on a nearby couch facing the television, which was currently turned off. |

"Ah, please excuse me," Sumomo said to Lavender. "My name is Sumomo. I'm... well, how do you say this... I'm from another dimension. Or at least, before that dimension was utterly destroyed. I'm here mostly because Eliza seems to trust you and her other friend Marina the most." "Yeah, except it seems that the incident yesterday at the bar would mean that she might need some convincing from you before I just randomly decide to tell her everything," Liz sighed. "I only have a vague idea as to what the hell just happened, and I'd rather not worry about that just yet." Sumomo sighed and continued. "Anyway... your world is in grave danger. The sudden death of my dimension has apparently caused an imbalance, and the monsters that destroyed my world are headed here to destroy it. These things are called Anino." "... Yeah, we kinda just fought one a few minutes ago in the dock area," Liz groaned as she tried to stretch her neck. She was still sore from the last battle, after all. "Those things are without form, at least, until they meet a suitable host and make a contract with them," Sumomo continued. "The contract requires them to fulfill the deepest wish of the person being possessed, and will go through any means to fulfill... usually in their own twisted sort of way. There's also always a price to be paid for these wishes..." The girl sighed. "I'm not sure what it is yet, but I don't want to see that happen to this world. If anything, it'll destroy this world as they destroyed mine!" "And that's how it goes. So... we kind of need help on this one," Liz said. "You're the only one we can trust to tell about this for now." |

"Ah, please excuse me, my name is Sumomo. I'm... well, how do you say this... I'm from another dimension. Or at least, before that dimension was utterly destroyed. I'm here mostly because Eliza seems to trust you and her other friend Marina the most." Lavender nodded as Sumomo introduced herself, although she wasn't entirely sure what to make of the part where she mentioned being native to another dimension and said realm being destroyed. But considering that Liz had trusted this girl and that Liz was one of her most reliable subordinates, Lavender decided to take Sumomo's word for it, at least for now. Lavender listened attentively as Sumomo continued, "Anyway... your world is in grave danger. The sudden death of my dimension has apparently caused an imbalance, and the monsters that destroyed my world are headed here to destroy it. These things are called Anino." Her work being what it is, Lavender always takes warnings about threats towards the world very seriously. Denizens of a dead universe, who wouldn't stop at the one they just destroyed and is apparently heading to her universe with the intention of destroying it; certainly didn't sit well with Lavender. "... Yeah, we kinda just fought one a few minutes ago in the dock area," Liz added as she stretched herself. "Those things are without form, at least, until they meet a suitable host and make a contract with them, The contract requires them to fulfill the deepest wish of the person being possessed, and will go through any means to fulfill... usually in their own twisted sort of way. There's also always a price to be paid for these wishes..." Lavender nodded as Sumomo continued her explanation about these enigmatic but malevolent beings known as Anino. "I see, so there's some kind of Faustian bargain involved," Lavender mused. "I'm not sure what it is yet, but I don't want to see that happen to this world. If anything, it'll destroy this world as they destroyed mine!" Sumomo sighed. "And that's how it goes. So... we kind of need help on this one," Liz spoke up. "You're the only one we can trust to tell about this for now." "As long as it involves a threat to this world, then I will do everything in my ability to stop it," Lavender replied as she looked at Liz and Sumomo. "But what would I need to do first?" |

"Well, there's no real way of defeating the Aninos without either luring them out of their victim or outright killing their host, and the latter is out of the question," Sumomo said. "It was sheer luck that that man's rage was strong enough to give the Anino its form when we fought it earlier. That's because an Anino's form is directly related to how that person might perceive and imagine it." "Well, how would we know though if a person is a victim? I mean, I'm not sure if people would be willing to tell others that they've got a monster on their shoulder who can grant them wishes for the cost of an entire universe," Liz sighed. "One way of knowing if one is a victim, from what it seems, is if they have a trail of sand flowing from them from for no reason at all. Also, their existence is as fragile as sand as it relies heavily on the host's will. But once they get the wish fulfilled, they can keep their physical form thanks to the memories of that person," Sumomo explained. "Their... time, as it were." "Well, that does help somewhat..." Liz admitted. "I don't know, Lavender, maybe have GLADIUS on standby and look for people with sand flowing out of their ears or something? The Anino are pretty strong though, from what I've seen so far, so engaging them isn't recommended unless we've got at least two people on the scene." "I don't know, you did pretty well as Den-O," Sumomo chuckled. "That wasn't really me fighting back there though... not to mention that guy helped out a lot." Oh, there was one other thing that was required at this point. "Lavender, you... might also want to call Marina for this one as well. She has a right to know too since she's been on the train before. Just... sort of mention that it has to do with 'the train of Space and Time' and she'll understand," Liz said. |

Lavender listened attentively as Sumomo spoke of the Anino, on how they can grant wishes to their hosts, but would eventually take on a form and become capable of destroying the universe - it almost sounded like something out of gothic sci-fi novel dealing with cosmic horrors. Lavender nodded at the part about sending an order to GLADIUS agents to keep lookout for Anino hosts. "I'll send an email to all GLADIUS agents to keep a lookout for people with sand flowing from their orifices," Lavender replied curtly as she began thinking up what her subordinates needed to know. "Lavender, you... might also want to call Marina for this one as well. She has a right to know too since she's been on the train before. Just... sort of mention that it has to do with 'the train of Space and Time' and she'll understand," Liz said. The GLADIUS leader nodded, who had till now been sitting quietly in deep thought. "Aye, Marina's one we can confide in," Lavender mused. Despite being a former enemy of GLADIUS, Marina has proven herself time and again in the service of their organization, and has proven herself as one of Lavender's closest associates along with Achilles-sensei, the Big Three and a handful others. "Say Liz," Lavender added before picking up the receiver on her house phone, her fingers resting on the keypad briefly before entering Marina's number. "Should we inform Achilles-sensei about this as well? I mean, if these Anino are that powerful, we'd need all the big guns we can get." Lavender commented while waiting for Marina to pick up her call. |

Liz pondered on Lavender's suggestion. "I don't see why not. As you say, the more, the better. I get the feeling that the one I met at the docks was one of the weaker ones." But something else came to mind as well; it was Marina's words on the train.
"... Come to think of it, we should wait for Marina to show up here and give her two cents on the matter before we inform other GLADIUS agents," she said. "Something she said back on the train bothered me." Sumomo raised a brow at that, but just turned back to Lavender. "Anyway... are there any other questions you'd like to ask after you call your friend?" |

"I don't see why not. As you say, the more, the better. I get the feeling that the one I met at the docks was one of the weaker ones." Liz replied. Judging from her comment, Lavender could only imagine what a more powerful Anino would be like; perhaps it would be a good idea to enlist the help of an Esper on the caliber of Achilles-sensei. "... Come to think of it, we should wait for Marina to show up here and give her two cents on the matter before we inform other GLADIUS agents," Liz continued. "Something she said back on the train bothered me." "What did she say when you met her on board the train?" Lavender asked, right at the moment her call got through. "Hello? Marina? Yes, Lavender here... Liz asked me to speak to you with regards to the train of space and time. Yes, she's here at my home, she and Sumomo." That being said, Lavender disengaged the call before turning her attention back to Liz and Sumomo. "Anyway... are there any other questions you'd like to ask after you call your friend?" "Well, I have but only one," Lavender said as she leaned back in her seat. "Just wondering though, has anyone tried any means of intelligent communication with the Anino?" Lavender asked; while she guessed that most likely these beings possess minds that are so alien no human could possibly understand their thoughts, much less attempt communication with them - but still, it helps to know everything she can about this new enemy, in hopes of finding out more about their weaknesses. |

"Well, I have but only one. Just wondering though, has anyone tried any means of intelligent communication with the Anino?" Lavender asked. "No..." Sumomo said, her face tightening as she did. "They can be talked to - how else are they able to get their contractor's 'wishes' granted, after all. But as far as reasoning with them is concerned, forget it. They will do everything and anything to make sure that that wish is fulfilled, no matter what. And then..." She grit her teeth. Obviously, just talking about the nature of these creatures made her angry. "... they just destroy everything in their path once that wish is done! I've seen what they did to my world! It just eroded away like so much sand!" she angrily said. "I won't forgive those monsters for destroying it and stealing away my time!" "Tch! You talk too much, you whiny brat!" If Lavender took a moment to look at Liz at that point, she would realize that there was a crackle of red electricity as if she just used some kind of Electromancy. In truth, there was someone else who took over. Apparently Liz was so tired that she dozed off on the couch, and that someone took that brief moment to take her and give Sumomo a piece of her mind! ... It really didn't help that for some reason, Liz was now wearing some kind of frilly red dress and some black ribbons on her hair. "You're whining about that? It's my world too, you know, and you don't see me bitching about losing it, or blaming its loss on some goddamn monster of the week!" It was Otoha! "And I don't like how you're lumping me in with all those other dumbasses! I may be like them, but I'm not a monster like them, and I take offense to that!" Otoha yelled at Sumomo. She didn't know - or care, for that matter - how Lavender would react, but since she could hear the conversation, she had to give the fiery girl a piece of her mind! |

"No..." Sumomo replied gravely, her face tightening as she spoke. "They can be talked to - how else are they able to get their contractor's 'wishes' granted, after all. But as far as reasoning with them is concerned, forget it. They will do everything and anything to make sure that that wish is fulfilled, no matter what. And then..." "I see..." Lavender nodded. Looks like her guess about these creatures being an amoral force of destruction was spot-on. "... they just destroy everything in their path once that wish is done! I've seen what they did to my world! It just eroded away like so much sand!" Sumomo hissed through angrily-clenched teeth. "I won't forgive those monsters for destroying it and stealing away my time!" "Tch! You talk too much, you whiny brat!" Liz's voice drew Lavender's attention back to her colleague - who now appeared to be wearing a black hair ribbon and a red frilly dress - there was something in her manner of speech that reminded Lavender of that time at the bar. Could it be that same entity that was controlling Liz back at the bar right here with them? "You're whining about that? It's my world too, you know, and you don't see me bitching about losing it, or blaming its loss on some goddamn monster of the week! And I don't like how you're lumping me in with all those other dumbasses! I may be like them, but I'm not a monster like them, and I take offense to that!" "That's far enough!" Lavender butted in sternly, rising from her couch, her fists balled. A stiff breeze blew through the living room before the air began circling around the amethyst-haired Esper. "I am not about to let a discussion of battle plans turn into an emotional episode," Lavender spoke firmly, although her voice was steady and calm, like someone who is in control of her feelings. "If we're going to come up with a plan to defeat these monsters, we need to do this with a cool head. Blaming one or the other isn't going to help matters any; whatever grievances and rage you feel, focus them on the real enemy." Her rhetoric spent, Lavender slowly slipped into a more relaxed stance, her fists gradually unclenching. |

"That's far enough! I am not about to let a discussion of battle plans turn into an emotional episode. If we're going to come up with a plan to defeat these monsters, we need to do this with a cool head. Blaming one or the other isn't going to help matters any; whatever grievances and rage you feel, focus them on the real enemy," Lavender admonished Otoha. Otoha snorted. "Tell that to this nosy woman. I've already worked in a group where hot headed morons like her completely fuck up any semblance of a plan, like one particular gimp that I-" "Shut up, stupid Otoha! Why the hell are you even HERE!?" Sumomo growled as she threw a fist at Otoha. There was... also something weird about Sumomo's punch, one that the spirit would find rather interesting too late. Two green rings lit up in Sumomo's eyes, like some kind of gate or portal, and her fist also had that same pair of counter revolving circles as it slammed into her fa- WHOOSH! A short burst of violent wind that came from the "gate" would slam into Otoha's face and send her and her host flying out of the couch and rolling down the hall, coming to a stop face down after slamming into a door. Only then did Sumomo realize what the hell she just did, and that she just punched not only Otoha in the face, but also Liz. "Gah! S-Sorry, Eliza! I forgot that we're not in the DenLiner anymore! I didn't mean to hit you too!" she said apologetically as she ran to the fallen girl's side. Once again, Eliza's hair was its natural blonde color, and despite getting socked in the face, her glasses were intact. "Ow... No, thanks... dammit, she just jumped in on me without me noticing..." Liz sighed as she picked herself up with Sumomo's help. "... and what's with these clothes!?" "Your sense of style is pretty nice, but bland. I wanted to spice things up a bit." This time, a trail of sand that fell from Liz - one of the things that Lavender was told was one of the signs of being possessed by an Anino - reformed on the ground and materialized into her former ghost-like self from her previous universe. "Sorry, but they also kind of change on their own. Even I don't know how that works, it just does. Also goddamn, you throw a mean punch, you violent woman!" She then turned to Lavender and blinked.
"O hai, you're that girl who took home that drunk lesbian friend I saw last night. How is she?" she said with a grin. ... Yeah, she's that incorrigible. Edited by Pikachu_Fragger, Jun 26 2009, 08:29 AM.

"Tell that to this nosy woman. I've already worked in a group where hot headed morons like her completely fuck up any semblance of a plan, like one particular gimp that I-" Otoha in Liz's body was cut short by Sumomo's angry retort. "Shut up, stupid Otoha! Why the hell are you even HERE!?" Sumomo growled as she threw a punch at Otoha - apparently the name of the entity that was speaking through Liz, whose shenanigans Lavender had recalled back at a particular bar that was an old hangout of hers. A strange energy seemed to well up inside Sumomo as a pair of glowing green rings lit up in her eyes and a pair of similar spirals of energy appeared around her fist. "Is that a form of Aeromancy?" Lavender's attention was momentarily diverted towards her element - she had met many an Aeromancer in her time, but there was something different about Sumomo's attack. A fraction of a second later, Sumomo's punch connected head-on with Liz, sending the girl flying out of her seat and down the hall, coming to a stop after hitting a door with a thud. "Gah! S-Sorry, Eliza! I forgot that we're not in the DenLiner anymore! I didn't mean to hit you too!" Lavender shook her head as Sumomo ran up to the fallen girl. It seemed the entity known as Otoha had left Liz's body, as the girl's hair was back to its original shade of blond. "Ow... No, thanks... dammit, she just jumped in on me without me noticing..." Liz replied as Sumomo helped her to her feet, before realizing her change of clothes. "... and what's with these clothes!?" "Your sense of style is pretty nice, but bland. I wanted to spice things up a bit." The familiar voice of Otoha added as sand began trailing from Liz - one of the telltale signs of an Anino-possessed being. "Sorry, but they also kind of change on their own. Even I don't know how that works, it just does. Also goddamn, you throw a mean punch, you violent woman!" "Anino..." Lavender gasped as Otoha materialized in her ghostly state. "O hai, you're that girl who took home that drunk lesbian friend I saw last night. How is she?" There was a grin on Otoha's face as she asked her question. "She happens to be my colleague and subordinate as well, but thanks for asking - she's fine; although you'd best not mention what went on later between her and that silver-haired friend of hers," Lavender replied sheepishly, her face turning red at the mention of the other evening's rather embarrassing turn of events, especially the things Elza said. |

"She happens to be my colleague and subordinate as well, but thanks for asking - she's fine; although you'd best not mention what went on later between her and that silver-haired friend of hers," Lavender replied, her face turning red at that. "Tch. What a shame. I'd have loved to see that. I just wish the rules allowed them to make a thread for that," Otoha sighed. "I don't suppose you managed to get a video of what happened, did you?" "... What in God's name are you talking about!?" Liz groaned as she got to her feet. "And you, I have no idea how you managed to get into my body like that, but I really don't appreciate that." "Sorry about that, but... well, it was necessary. I had to find a host as soon as I entered this dimension. An Anino's existence is as fragile as sand, just as that violent tsundere over there said, even for an exceptional Anino like me." "And what makes you special all of a sudden?" Sumomo growled as she tried to keep her anger in check. Despite how much she would rather beat this one to dust, she knew that she wasn't an enemy of theirs somehow. After all, she did help Liz battle the Anino from earlier. "Because I was already dead. Back then, I was just known as a Persona, a Stand connected to my beloved little sister, so that sorta makes me a veteran in the whole 'intangible being with a fragile existence' field. But when the universe collapsed..." Otoha visibly turned serious at that moment as she bit her lower lip and hung her head in sadness. "I'm not sure where she went, but I have to save her. And frankly, becoming like this was the only way." "How did you... become like this, anyway?" Liz asked as she sat on the couch again. "Hell, I don't know. All I know is that one moment I was chilling with her and our boyfriend, and the next, the world just broke apart. I couldn't save Hajime, but... I figured I could somehow place a part of myself in my sister so that I can find her when the time came. It was bad enough as it was; I also had to give something else to a friend of mine as a request from another friend. It's... complicated. But all I remember after losing my sister and feeling that I was fading away was a voice calling out to me to destroy, destroy, destroy." Otoha raised her head at that and looked at Liz and Sumomo. "That's all I remember, honest. After that was waking up and having that awful feeling of being someplace cold and distant, lost with only a bare sense of self, and seeing that portal that led me here. But all I want to do is save my sister. That's all. Which is why I hate it when you lump me in with those other bastards!" "Tch, for all I know, you're just lying to us!" Sumomo growled, but Liz raised a hand at her to stop. "I don't know what's real and what's not, but... I've heard two sides of the story. It's sad that you both came from the same universe and yet seem unable to see each other eye to eye. But for all intents and purposes, that universe is gone, and we're both worried about this one. Let's not argue that matter and just try to get along, okay?" she pleaded. Sumomo sighed. "You're right. Sorry." "Same here. But goddammit, if you hit me one more time-" "Otoha," Liz sternly said, forcing the Anino to quiet herself with an angry "tch". "Anyway," Liz said, turning to Lavender as she did, "All that remains is to wait for Marina to show up. At this point, she said something that made me wonder if informing GLADIUS upper command is a good idea." "I agree. Something doesn't seem right about them..." Otoha said. "... wait, how the hell do you know about that!?" Liz demanded. "I'm an Anino. I can read your mind, and if you weren't a Singular Point, it would be easier for me to read your heart and grant you your wish as soon as you said it. Besides, it's a better explanation than saying 'I read the thread'." "What the hell does that even mean!?" Liz groaned. Edited by Pikachu_Fragger, Jun 30 2009, 08:13 PM.
